I disagree. The emailed document was clearly to negotiate payment directly to the Colleton County Treasurer for the use of the Courthouse facilities.
We have no idea what the handwritten note describing exchanging the use of her likeness for a 4-second video clip, to accompany the usage of the first reference, even means.
We don't even know if this handwritten note was ever transmitted to anybody. It couldn't be emailed as such. There's insufficient evidence to confirm there was an agreement or a benefit.
This was an Exhibit to a Motion by very skilled attorneys -- it's rubbish, and they know better. JMO
The motion says, "The film crew ignored her addendum as the contract had already been executed." So I presume one way or another it had to have been transmitted to them.
This has nothing to do with the alleged jury tampering and I don't know if it violates any self-dealing laws. Nevertheless, IMO opinion it's just unseemly.
It's Hill's prerogative if she wants to negotiate compensation in exchange for appearing in a documentary. However any private agreement they would reach has no business being included in a public contract and the way she just unilaterally appended it to the bottom as a handwritten note is more than a little bizarre.

Also, in exchange for the use of the likeness of Rebecca Hill in an interview, a minimum of [unclear] 5 second video and audio clips will accompany the usage on the first reference. The book cover for the book, “Behind the Doors of Justice: The Murdaugh Murders[”] will be shown and audio will include Becky’s introduction as Clerk of Court for Colleton County and author of the book.
