Boy, I didn't even see the thread!! I was wondering what was taking so long.

Annasmom, are you willing to let the forensic artist I contacted do an age progression of Anna?

Nothing ever developed with the forensic artist meeting with the tipster. Can we get the ball rolling since SMPD will not contact the tipster?

Yesterday Detective Jim Gilletti stopped by my house and returned the Box From Hell, so we again have access to papers about which many of you have asked questions. I suppose it it my turn to go through these awful papers, so I will undertake reading all the life insurance policies GW took out...I don't think Doogie or I ever got that far before. So if there was something you asked previously and the answer was in this box, I should be able to find the answer now.
Annasunc has continued his blitz of letters and telephone calls regarding the DNA tests and the possibility of media involvement in the case.
Apparently the CADOJ was unable to retrieve Anna's DNA from the shoes and slippers they took.
Although we thought the DNA sample from me would be compared to that of missing persons nationally, apparently the means to do this is not yet in place and will not be in place until the fall.
I learned--to my dismay--that there is a statute of limitations on child abduction, a comparatively short time, and that the date has long since passed. This means that, barring other criminal offense which might have been committed by a kidnapper from 1973 to the date of the limitation--the detective thought it was only about seven years--that whoever abducted a child in 1973 has gotten away with it and would not be prosecuted for wreaking this devastation on a family.
Detective Gilletti said that he receives leads from time to time from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and that each of these leads are investigated.

This news about the limitations I looked up some information and now I wonder what the mind set is to make this law.
I looked this up and it reads......

Under current law, the limitation period applicable to most Federal crimes is five years. 3

Tuffy, do you have a date on this? Does this mean the detective was mistaken in saying there was a statute of limitations on child abduction and that it has passed?

these are the two I found on a goggle search after inputing
limitations on child abduction,
The dates are different on each and the terms used to express what a child kidnapping as in when it is a non-parent and a parent kidnapping .....I am not real up just yet on those Laws I am going to call Tuesday and see what kind of readable information my congressman can send me I am near Los Angeles.....other information as to reaching age 25 and plus a few months,however this reads for me as depending on whom took the child and what happened afterward and if the child was taken out of the states or was made to engage in sexual exploitation...I read most of what is on both sites and still reading.
I did not mean to sound so curt with that post it was because the shock of hearing among everything even if the person was found that took little anna that no laws would be in place..........that was most painful for you to hear ! it was painful to my ear as well.
The law enforcement have a great many cases to look into and I am sure with all the Laws changing makes their work doubly hard.
Not to Long ago I spoke with my Local Office of the FBI I went in person and was astounded with the amount of computers the statement was made then as to the amount of Laws that change and how it hinders cases and sometimes helps.....and is most likely the reason I question what does not seem right I do apologize if I offended you.

I Know someone last year found the actor (anna Christian Water) in the UK and I check back several times on that site to see if any photo or other information is posted.....hiding in plan site ! that seems to be the case in most child kidnapping I read about....

Tuffy, thank you for the continuing research. You did not sound curt, and of course you have not offended me (you're the second person on the forum to think she has offended me. I must seem offended--sorry! I'm not). It seems to me that we checked into that English actor, but I'll look again. There have been several Anna Waterses including one in Tasmania or Australia, but they don't resemble ours, or else they are positive about where and when they were born.
Not sure what you mean by George and studies...

still not clear on that will find out more as now I want to know....
I am sure because of the Test results I was not wanting to offend you as I think everyone on WS feels badly.
I did not finish my thought about George studies as I could not recall just where he studied and classes he took the reason is the Directer for two films that A>C>Waters was in started out to become a Dr.
I do not know if a photo for this waters was found how ever I am looking for one on UK sites.

Kidnapping is a Federal Crime,thou Laws that are addressed by different States depending on the Congressman that may introduce a Bill on the House Floor.
A crime that may have occurred in a state that caused enough rilling of the local people California as apposed to Ohio may present a Bill.....

The sites you have posted to, are they strictly US sites? Are there and have either of you posted Annas information on possible foreign country sites that GW may have visited? ( Either Greece, or any of the European countries GW may have visited? )

Cubby, I found a couple international sites where I have Anna listed. One of the sites I was able to upload a picture with the message.

In the meantime, I am working with an adoptee who was born 8-3-67 (same day as MK's death). The adoptee has a photo on her first birthday with 2 boys in the background. When she started describing what her cake looked like, she was describing almost the same cake in a pic Annasmom had sent to me from Anna's first birthday. This adoptee's maiden name is a name that has been mentioned on this forum also. I believe I may have found her birthmother and has made contact, she is not confiming she is her mother also she is not denying it either. The adoptee has sent the birthmother a very nice letter in hopes that she will contact her. How is wish she was Anna....

That's so fantastic. It must be four or five now. In Searching for Anna, I said "no trace of her has been found, though we found many other things while looking". Little did I know about SherlockJr and WebSleuths, and how many OTHER things would be found during the search.

God bless you Sherlock. What an amazing "side effect" of looking for Anna. Even though there is pain in not finding Anna, there is so much long term good coming out of short term failure.
