I am worried about his taking a trip to the bridge and jumping.

I'm not! If he did it, good riddance IMO.

There is a casino down that way. He may be going down there to gamble, thinking it is his last chance before a long stint in prison.

Or, there is the "Home of the Throwed Rolls" down in Sikeston, MO. Great food at Lamberts if you've never been.

I am worried about his taking a trip to the bridge and jumping.

IF he's the perp, I'm more worried about him fleeing to unknown parts of the world, than jumping off a bridge.

Seriously, I don't care about a bridge scenario. I'm not wishing him harm, really, just I don't care, IF he's the person who did this crime.

Just being honest,

There is no reason for him to pick out a head stone in Cape. - 20 miles away we have head stone makers that would be less expensive that anyone in selling them in bigger cities.

But I will tell you that us people in Chester have to go about 50 miles in any one direction to get to decent shopping. We are use to driving 50 miles one way. I go to Cape all the time. Plus he could just be seeing if they are going to follow him or not and how far they are willing to follow him.

When you live down here... you either go to Cape G (MO), Carbondale (IL), Belleville (IL), Farmington (MO) or St. Louis (MO) if you want a better section of food or shopping. (all are about 50 miles one way but in different directions)

Hi SuziQ,

I was wondering the same thing -- what is in that direction? Loose thoughts:

Is he going to pick out a head marker for the family?

Is he being taken to a family cabin where he can take some time out to recuperate (are there guns in that cabin, and ammo?)

My guess is that unless LE can pretty well predict where they are going, they will be forced to arrest him soon. Where is the helicopter at this point?

Is it possible that Chris said, "Take me to the cabin dad, I have some business to do"?

All great questions and points, Milopede!

To answer your question about what number the 911 call came from..I believe Chris called 911 from his cell phone, as he was leaving the gym.

I COMPLETELY agree with what you're saying about if he left at 5:30 am and called police at 7am..that only would leave the perp (assuming it's not him) about an hour and a half to commit the crime. Also, around 6-6:30 or so, I would think some of their neighbors would be up and leaving for work, or at least awake. I wonder how come no one reported seeing a strange car at their house, no highschoolers going to school (i know most highschools start around 7:15ish..so I would think they would be up and on their way) saw/heard anything, etc. It just seems weird that, on a weekday, the neighborhood was completely dead in the mornings.

According to a reporter on NG last night, he left at 5:43 - 5:45 (from home) and call to police was 6:50 - and he arrived home shortly there after. so that narrows the time a bit.

I understand and agree with most of what you are saying, but there are seasoned hunters who watched this video (at their wives request :)) and they were disturbed by it too. I don't think they were scared, they appeared to be enjoying themselves. Yes there are many sick videos on the internet but, IMHO, that doesn't justify their depravity.

That is why I didn't watch the video. It has to be brutal but saying that if the deer was wounded by the arrow then the deer had to be put down in some other manner and since I guess the dufus didn't have anything other than his brute strength this is how he did it.

My family has hunted for decades. Thankfully they all come very prepared and do not have to resort to such brutality. But bow hunting is not as sure to bring the deer down as a deer rifle and the guy should have been prepared by bringing his knife to immediately put the deer out of its misery and disarm the deer from becoming violent.

I do agree that it is vile and disgusting when you say in the video he seemed to enjoy it. I guess he got a boost of bravado that he was able to bring it down by brute strength. That is pure T sickening.

How large was the deer?

imo

Not familiar with the area at all. Could he be headed to his attorney's office?

Who was it a while ago that said "remember OJ"

Sorry -- I was late on the uptake & many others beat me to this

Me. I'm playing catch up myself. My computer was acting weird.

Right now those storms are north of us.
Chester in about 80 mile south of St. Louis City (look on a map) - follow the Mississippi River and you will find Chester along the river south of St. Louis (but slightly north of Perryville MO)

ACK ChesterGal, ArtieGumshoe and our other sleuthers close to Chester...

I just read some news, you all keep safe, eh?

Appears that some ugly storms are heading your way :(

>>The storms could produce tornadoes, very large hail, heavy rainfall and wind gusts in excess of 70 mph. <<

The thing is they could be telling him they are safeguarding him in case he is in danger from the errrr...uh...uh..the person he has told was threatening his family. What could he say about that? lol Nothing.

imo

There is absolutely nothing he could say about it, but he's a fool if he believed it. If LE really thought the killer was going to come after CC they wouldn't be obvious about the tail.

St. Louis Post Dispatch: http://www.stltoday.com/news/illinois-news

Belleville News-Democrat: http://www.bnd.com/news/

Fox 2 News: http://www.fox2now.com/news/

I'm sure there is a lot more. Being in St. Louis, these are the sites I have been viewing the most.

Thank you milopedes :) I am just wishing we could hear him speak... hate to say this but he kinda reminds me of Justin Barber eesh, whole thing reeks to high heaven if ya ask me... One thing's for sure, LE will have no problem figuring out if the ominous messages were bogus.

Me too. I'm predicting an arrest today and SOON, with them reporting his every movement..

jmo

Ahhh...IMHO LE has a plan. Let CC go to the burial, and hopefully that will weaken his spirit (especially seeing the coffins). IF he did it, I can't imagine he can live with supposed innocence much longer.

I agree with you, they will either arrest, or bring him in for more questioning at this vulnerable time for CC.

Throw in the ala Bronco chase, CC is even more worried. Will he crack, or pull a Casey?

Having already hired a couple of atty's doesn't bode well for me -- especially if he's innocent.

Let's see how today plays out.

Best,

Wrinkles, thanks for the storm warning. As for time and such, most gyms have a scan-in device or card. I know that even at the YMCA, you have to scan a card. So, the gym has proof of when he came in if he did. As for the cell-phone, the LE should be able to get the call list from the cell phone provider if CC didn't comply. As for the screaming, that came up after cops were asking for information so it may not be entirely acurate. As for the camera on the house, I once again took some pictures this morning as I drove by. If I can get the links to work here, I have a picture of their mailbox and of the camera pointing at the mailbox. As for an earlier question to me, I have no info on his brother. I heard that he was into LE and he strangled a deer, which made us all think it was him, but there was no motive behind his brother doing it.

I doubt that... Cape G is about 100 miles south of St. Louis - It is a college town.
You take the Chester Bridge over to Perryville MO (20 miles southwest of Chester) and head south on I-55 for about 40 miles on I-55 to get to Cape G.

Many people in this area go to Cape G for many reason - it is not really odd at all that he went down there. Maybe they went to Sam's Club for supplies?

Not familiar with the area at all. Could he be headed to his attorney's office?

Yup, me too. His ego is huge, the bigger they are the harder they fall. I don't think that he would do it with his family around.

Major Case Squad investigator Major Jeff Connor spoke with CNN's Nancy Grace by phone Tuesday evening. "There was some damage to the screen, but the window was found open, the back window leading to the basement," he told Grace. When Grace asked if the window had been forced open, Connor responded, "there's no indication force was used."

Not that anyone probably already didn't know this, but I don't think the camera pointing to the front of his house - where the alleged threats were dropped in the mailbox - will provide any good evidence.

My question about all that is this: If he is some security specialist, who installed his own camera, you'd think he would be smart enough to install cameras in multiple areas around the house and not just one pointing to the front. I mean, duh, if someone is going to do something to your family after threatening to do so they are not very likely coming in the front door after ringing the doorbell. :waitasec:

Sorry I'm jumping in here myself but just gotta add this makes NO sense. Do I have this right--CC can't reach his family by phone from a gym that's only a mile or so from his house... so he phones 911 to investigate and see if they're ok? Wth? Please tell me I have it wrong cause that in itself sounds pretty bad. You'd just drive home and check it out yourself before going to such an extreme. ETA: And I know he claims they'd been "harassed" but he still could've easily arrived there before LE if he'd WANTED to.

This is something that's been sticking out in my mind. If the police thought there was actually someone out there that did this to CC's family, wouldn't they want to stash him away somewhere that no one really knew about? I mean....if someone were to threaten me and actually get to my family, I wouldn't then go and stay with other family members. I'd be afraid that I'd be putting them in danger.
