Thanks so much! This is such a sad case.

You're very welcome!

It is so sad. FWIW, I tend to believe the insurance "rumor" as I heard that before it hit the boards. I also heard the affair rumor days before it hit the boards & rumormill. These two came from a pretty reliable source that I trust, that isn't on the case, but is in LE.

Please note: I'm not saying what he said was true. Just passing along what these folks at JMM are saying. It kindof makes me question what they know that I don't and also it makes me feel wierd about how passive they are. It's as though what we see isn't going on at all. The girlfriend/affair thing? "He messed up like a lot of men. Doesn't make him a murderer." True but still. I don't know. Wierd. They're acting so strange...maybe I'm the strange one.

I don't think your strange at all. Look, maybe they do know something we don't. But what we do know apparently leads the majority of us to conclude Chris likely did this. The thing is, I have seen case after case where the friends and family absolutely did not see it coming and at first, at least, did not think it possible. I'm thinking Scott Peterson, casey Anthony, Mark Hacking, Susan Smith, Neil Entwhistle, gosh, even Ted Bundy. He was the nicest guy. He even worked on a suicide hotline! Everyone who knew him was shocked. Many of those who knew the people above were in disbelief, until facts started coming out, or the person was named as a suspect or arrested.
I will say, though, that his supposed "over the top" behavior upon discovery of the deaths does not concern me really. If I learned my family had been killed I would be on the floor as well. But, the rolling around on the floor strikes a few of us because there have been past cases where the guilty party rolled around and it was just an act. Nevertheless, I would expect someone to be on the floor upon learning such a thing.
If Chris was upset at the funeral, and held on to someone crying horribly, that could mean he's showing appropriate grief. If it happened at the end of the visitiation, it could mean he is scared. Maybe the other poster who knew someone who attneded the visitation did not see everything that happened there. There is a lot we do not yet know for sure. What we do know for sure, however, has convinced me that we are on the right track. Time will tell.

Analytical, I am curious about the info about the treats as well..yet There is really so much more than the letters to this case.

I won't list it all because you have read it for days.. timing of murders. neighbors heard arguing, girlfriend, ugly coping blah blah . As far as the paint on the walls... to me that is a cover up deal. If I did anything like that I would paint my house, my state, my car, and my dog to cover up. Good for covering fingerprints & evidence of all types.

There are a great deal of details we don't know yet..and there are some biggies that we do. I don't know the killers mindset. I don't know the cheaters mindset.

We may get more details and facts when the police make an arrest. It is difficult to think anyone could indeed be nice and cruel. Loving to family and a cheater.

And it does not mean he's NOT a murderer.

Here's a thought exercise - can anyone reading this thread find or recall a case with these fact patterns:

--Husband having an affair;
--Family killed;
--Husband last to see family alive;
--Husband placed himself somewhere else during time he claims murder must have happened;
--Husband hires an attorney immediately and does not give 100% cooperation;
--Husband is less than sensitive to wife's side of the family;

where the husband did NOT turn out to be the killer?

Nope, not me.

Speaking of the high powered attorneys, would it be possible for LE to find out if CC did a search for their names prior to the murders? Home or work computer maybe?
I dont see why not, they have the technology.

For the sake of clarification, someone claimed the g/f was in the military. My question you quoted was directed to a poster who has children and a niece that Sheri and the g/f went to school with.

Was just wondering.. that's all .. and Lindaannette said she would find out.

Ok - still wondering WHY this is important. IMO, LE knows with whom CC was having an affair. Honestly, the identity, profession or character of the woman really isn't relevant. The fact that CC WAS having an affair when his wife and children were murdered is what is important here. It goes to motive. His, not hers (not yet anyway).

You are not strange - this is exactly what happens when something threatens the evangelical stronghold. In corporate jargon it's the "spin doctoring". They are doing their best to control the spin, or direction, of the story, to show you the side of it they want you to see while not shedding any light on the rest of the details.

The second part about male adultery is part and parcel of the social doctrine. Men confess to other men and women are reminded that "all have fallen short" and quoted choice passages of Romans, chapter 7.

No it seems they are all stepfords like Chester told us............Son of their preacher man can not be guilty.I wonder if what they say is what they believe or do they think to even think the worst is going against Preacher and to some maybe thats like going against God?

Can we just leave it that someone can confirm for certain and I was curious. That's all!

I think there is much more to this case than meets the eye.

I'll venture that there is a possibility that someone was so bent on targeting Chris and family that they set it up to leave Chris behind and frame him for the murders.

Thanks, I thought they could but was not sure.

Blue... check out a local company ispirian.com They work with local LE here, as well as the FBI, on Computer Forensic technology. Fascinating stuff!

Posted it way up there, but you must have missed it since the board has gotten a bit busy tonight! :crazy:

Thanks so much Texas Mist. There is not much doubt in my mind that CC is responsible for these murders. It's tragic. :mad:

YVW

it's sickening to think that the last face Sheri & the boys saw was that of a killer -- and even more sickening should the killer be CC!

I've tried to figure out how someone else could have done this terrible thing - but just can't make sense of it being anyone but CC.

IMO, we are surely in for more :eek: within the next few weeks as the truth bubbles to the surface.

I find it a real leap to even imply the brother based upon a video.

I don't think if the video was the only odd thing about this that anyone would be even thinking it could be CC. It is the combined suspicious behavior that implies guilt. If LE comes out and says all the physical evidence points to a stranger, then everyone will think that the culprit was really cunning to point all the evidence toward CC. The most recent cases of the wife and children being killed have all turned out to be the husband/boyfriend/father.

I'll never get through reading all the posts tonight. I have to wonder if LE took CC's clothing and/or performed tests on his hands, etc. If spray paint was used it's likely whoever did the spraying had evidence of that on them somewhere.

This crime makes me ill. Sheri was a former MP, and if she wasn't drugged, I'll bet she fought hard. Hope there is an arrest soon.

G'night all. Maybe we will hear something new tomorrow.

Oh Analytical, at some point she apparently discerned a whole lot - but like most women (who are nurtures by design) she didn't want to break up her family - at least in the beginning.

I don't know if I am speaking to someone who knows what it's like to be a part of a non-denominational christian church like this - but I can give you a pretty good idea of what happened with Sherry, who by all accounts, was also deeply involved in JMM.

She most likely was a part of a women's ministry group and quite possibly a small group too. These groups meet regularly to "fellowship" (build relationships) and offer support and encouragement to each other. She would have felt comfortable in approaching a female leader and talking about her marriage. If Sheri was ready to approach Chris they would have done counseling together. Undoubtedly she would have been encouraged to read one or more of Joyce's books or teaching CD's.

From this teaching she would have been admonished and encouraged to be a "better" wife to her husband. To submit to him and make her self more attractive. She would likely have rebuked her her emotions as the "Battlefield of the Mind" as JM puts it (and don't get me wrong, I do believe that the battlefield is in the mind). She would have thrown herself into ministry activities and found whatever solace and joy she could in her sons and her friends. She probably started modeling to regain her self-esteem (or to say FU to CC)

I doubt that she allowed herself to entertain the notion that he was remotely capable of killing her and her babies. He (if he) would have used the threats against the ministry to play her emotions and her loyalties. I know how hard it is to leave the "family" that this kind of church becomes in your life. You spend almost all of your free time involved in "church life".

I am sorry to say this is in fact exactly how so many of these situations are often handled. Their one-solution-fits-all formula leaves much to be desired and keeps many women (and children) in oppressive, dangerous situations. The church (collectively speaking here) unfortunately treats nearly every conflict w/in a marriage--no matter how serious or detrimental--as normal "marital discord." Pray harder. Enroll in a Marriage Ministry class. Get couples counseling... the only problem is if that person is an abuser or a deceiver they will only manipulate the interventions that are offered. And have everyone outside the home believing them the most charming, mild-mannered, even-tempered, righteous, God-fearing person they ever met. My "proof?" I lived through it... barely.

It's not any more ludicrous than the stalker theory, really. The video and the crime allegedly have something in common. I haven't seen any evidence of a stalker other than reading that CC said there was one.

And I could be wrong. I don't want CC to be the murderer - I don't think anyone on this board WANTS CC to be the perp. But the birds-eye view isn't looking to good for him right now.

Not a one.
