thefragile, if it's me personally, I would feel okay with it if the second jury came back with LWOP. Because then I know that actually 24 people listened to the case, and if out of those 24, some people thought she shouldn't get the death penalty, then so be it and I can accept that.
I'm guessing Travis' family would also feel that way. I mean, of course not be "okay" with it, but they would accept it as the conclusion of everything. But this way, if I was Travis' family member, I would have a lot of what-if's for the rest of my life.

I think it's better for Travis' family if they go through with the re-trial and put some finality into this whole thing.

I agree but Travis Alexander's family wants her put to death. I agree that the family will settle for whatever the second set of jurors decide (or don't). I cannot even imagine what that family is going through, though...

I dont think she was going to steal a rental car to get away. I think she was on her way to commit another murder and then she would have returned the car after another so called road trip.

IIRC, someone in her family rented the car for her. Is this true?

I kissed a lot of dam frogs but by the time I met a man that I would have children with, my body was too old. Therefore, my maternal instincts were shifted to caring for our dogs but I treated them as though they were my "babies". I had a German Shepherd when I met my husband who had our German Schnauzer...they were both very territorial and "we think" they were very territorial and would kill each other - We tested a couple of times and didn't trust the Shepherd. We had a fear that he would kill the little Schnauzer. We lost the Shepherd in 2008 who had a very rare disease, Bulous Phimpigoid or something like that where his own body cells were killing him. When our Schnauzer started to decline, it was just too much. My husband is ready for another dog, but I'm not ready. I think the next time, I want to get two dogs, so they will always have a buddy and never be lonely. OK, that's all.

That sounds like a good idea, getting two. I'm sorry you lost your babies...it's so hard!

I don't have kids either so my dogs are my babies. I had my golden retriever Bunny for 14 years and six months after Bunny died, i got Mimi (see avatar) and she's 12 and a half.

Mimi was bitten by a neighbor's German Shepard once. The German Shepard was off the leash, and as I was stepping off the porch to walk Mimi, it came around the corner growling.

Mimi started growling and I started pulling her head toward me with the leash so I could pick her up. That saved her life because the German only bit her thigh right before I picked her up.

Its owner was way down the block and running toward us and screaming as all this was happening.

I knew these neighbors a little, and liked them....but it had always bothered me the times I saw it out roaming around.

They paid all the vet bills. I was nice about it but I did tell them
That if I ever saw their dog off a leash again, I was calling the cops.

Found out a week later it had bitten another neighbor's small dog months earlier. Yoikes!

That was years and years ago and thankfully Mimi was fine. Vet said I was very lucky mimi was on a leash and I was able to pick her up. Mimi doesn't know how big she isn't and would likely have been killed because she was aggressive back and not becoming submissive.

Whew, I say!

Does anyone have ideas or wondered where jodi was heading when she was arrested? Jodi already got the word that Travis' friends were pointing the finger at her. She had clothes, knives and a gun in the car when she was arrested. I think she was on her way to Chris Hughes house and she would have killed the family to throw suspicion off herself. Then she sould have gone to Ryans house for a surprise visit. Was the car she loaded up also a rental? 2 rentals for two road trips.

I think she was going to leave the country. But it would not surprise me if she had been planning on killing the Hughes family or even Mimi.

If the jury comes back with that, then thats what it will be.
I took issue with the comment that it will be another hung jury and that it would go straight to the judge. We don't know what will happen but assuming that it will be hung again is pretty premature.
If they do LWOP I just hope that whatever their reasoning is, that it isn't because they believe any of Jodi's lies like the first foreman. If they can do LWOP and realize that Travis was none of those ugly things then to me that is good enough.

I googled "Perryville Prison" today and there is actually a prison community website where they talk about that prison and what it's like and some people even claim that they are going there and wanting support on what to expect. I noticed there was at least one person that is a CMA supporter that asked something like, "do they have help for people with mental issues"?...Will not post the link here as I am trying to stay out of trouble here. Google will bring you there prison talk dot com perryville.....

Lololol not Jodi's type....nothing can help that except therapy and that is tricky with an Axis II. There can be access to meds...groups..counseling. Whether or not one.gets any of those is an entirely diff matter.

It sure appears as though she was going to make to run to the Mexican border with possibly MM's assistance? Not sure about killing others-yet. moo

Re-reading this and it seems Jodi did scam Travis.

I wonder if this has anything to do with his successful blog writing and she wanted credit for it? - Dated May 26

Interesting question Elle Elle... It definitely could be..

She fancies herself a good artist but we all know she traces and copies.

She just steals...

I definitely think she was running for Mexico...just like Scott Peterson, she was all packed up. She even told her dad she would need the gun "where she was going"

7/15/08 BRUNETTE Yreka CA
Mesa police detectives and Siskiyou County sheriff's deputies arrested JA at her Northern California home.
JA was booked in the Siskiyou County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
JA booking photo, brunette; Bond set at $2mm;
At the time of her arrest, JA was moving out of Gma/Gpa's home with her rental car loaded
with boxes, two knives and a 9mm handgun hidden inside.
Ammo for the .25 [murder gun] was found at JA's parents' home;
Ammo for the 9mm [acquired after TA's murder] was packed in JA's luggage.
The only reason LE found the 9mm [hidden in escape rental car] was because JA's mother asked where it was!!

* * *

I would bet Momma Arias, Daddy Arias and maybe even JA's older half sister knew where JA was headed. JMO

I also believe the Hughes were not safe with JA on the loose. JMO

:seeya: leashes are my biggest pet peeve in our neighborhood! Deacon is always on his leash when we are in the front yard, I can never trust that he won't chase after a truck! He's gentle with smaller dogs, and only gets riled by a lab that is never on a leash. We're close enough to a busy street, that I wouldn't want any dogs to be loose. :scared:
