Everyone is tripping on some bad ju-ju! :scared:

And my daily thread haunt just got put on "Lock Down" :banghead:
I really like it here cause we all get along so well, very polite, helpful, generously funny, good tunes/food/spirits, I can be AWOL for a few days, a week, (guilty) come back and feel right at home.

On the newest from Judge Stevens...I think we won't see the end of this STARTING until January.......:stormingmad:

Have to concede to the peeps who are predicting such. The CMJA will find some way to delay so she isn't caught having a bad hair day. (Sorry about the rhymin' words!) :floorlaugh:

My bad ju-ju? BF is going into the VA Hospital to get tested for Alzheimer's. The SLUM test. He's beyond the regular "depression forgetfulness". So, waiting for the powers that be to line up a date. In the meantime, I wait. Loose a s***load of sleep, sit in front of the computer, and don't EVEN want to think about what the future is going to be. If I project even the smallest inkling of the outcome, I will probably loose my mind.
Stuck in "Sucksville" at the moment, but...............it is what it is.

It could be worse, I could be:jail:

:floorlaugh:

Oh, gosh, am so sorry to hear about your BF. How long have y'all been together? Keep us updated and know we're always here for you. :heartbeat::heartbeat:

Oh Bernina. I hope it is nothing as serious as Alzheimer's. If it is :( drugs like Aricept have proved to be really helpful. Hopefully, the neurologists at the VA will work him up and find the root cause. The VA has actually done some of the foremost research on brain injuries, PTSD, memory issues etc. I hope they can make an accurate diagnosis and give you peace of mind. My prayers are with you and yours. :seeya:

I have never had problems with my supervisor. Just dealing with incompetent people drives me INSANE.
It was really just a hectic and stressful day. I cannot believe that people that have been doing basically the same job for years cannot answer simple questions (that they should know) and pass them off to others.

I guess it really wasn't that bad - just stressful and under some pressure.

The good part is that it is quitting time!!!!!

So sorry. My memory is so bad. I agree with you totally about incompetent people who can't seem to do their jobs. I get very annoyed and impatient with sheer idiocy. Hope tomorrow is better. :seeya:

9 years (OMG).
Dodged that bullet having to take care of elderly parents (please, I would have rolled them off a pier in their wheelchairs, they are NOT nice people!) but not going to go there right now.
The newest, he goes in for blood work tomorrow. And the stupid VA Hospital has their "protocol" carp, so it's meetings with primary care guy, shrink and all that happy horse do-do.
I just want some answers.

He's got PTSD, Panic Disorder and Bipolar, so ain't nothin' but a meatball! Aurgh. Have been putting up post it's as reminders for him for years, he leaves his wallet or cell phone when he leaves at LEAST once a week. Major "C.R.A.F.T." and not the old age kind. Calls me his 1st wife's name  (they've been divorced for like 25 years, LOL!)

i'm so sorry to hear this bernina. it has to be very difficult being in a caregiver role like that, especially when it comes to mental health. I really hope it's not alzheimers but if it is, you have a huge online support group right here who you can always vent to and we will always listen. i hope the VA hospital does everything they can to properly diagnose him. my husband is also a veteran but it was in iraq and he claims he is fine although he drinks like a fish (he claims its an occupational hazard of being a cop).

please let us know the results, thinking of you :Hugs:

ugh, i hear you girl. this is one of the main reasons i left my job after i had my son. between incompetent co workers and completely dysfunctional clients that cared only about popping out another baby every year to get more money in food stamps/cash assistance/free day care/section 8 etc etc (all while driving up to the office in escalades) i just couldn't take it anymore. From what I have seen, it's the smartest, most competent people in the office who get the shaft and have to pick up everyone elses work who don't know what they were doing. this would be fine with me if i were to be making more money than them, but when everyone has the same pay no thanks, i'll pass, onwards and upwards!!

BBM I think you mean the slump test which is a neurological test.
http://www.thestudentphysicaltherapist.com/slump-test.html
I never heard of a SLUM test for Alzheimer's- maybe something new??
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the neurological kinds of testing for Alzheimer's:

During a neurological exam, the physician will closely evaluate the person for problems that may signal brain disorders other than Alzheimer's.The doctor will look for signs of small or large strokes, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, fluid accumulation on the brain, and other illnesses that may impair memory or thinking.

The physician will test:

Reflexes
Coordination, muscle tone and strength
Eye movement
Speech
Sensation

If the evaluation does not indicate Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, but the symptoms continue to get worse over time, your doctor may need to order more tests or you may wish to get a second opinion.

The neurological exam may also include a brain imaging study.

I hope it's not Alzheimer's; it's such a heartbreaking disease.
I'll be praying for you and your BF. How old is he, if I may ask?

********JODI ARIAS TRIAL UPDATE********

FOR THOSE THAY MAY HAVE MISSED IT!!

Judge Stephens has denied a motion by defense attorneys to set aside the Arizona jury’s determination that Jodi Arias killed Travis Alexander in an “especially cruel” manner, a finding that made her eligible for the death penalty.

From the Joey Jackson fan page.

thank you for posting this! as the summer has passed, I guess I am coming to the realization that if the retrial of the penalty phase starts in january I will be ok with that as long as the alexanders are ok with that. if that's what it is going to take for travis to receive the justice he truly deserves then I think it's ok. I just hope the alexander's don't wait that long only to have another hung jury. That would be a very very difficult situation, but I'm sure Juan and his boss have discussed this possibility with them. Maybe there's a silver lining in it taking so long, like giving the Alexander's time to get back on their feet financially after the toll the trial took on them. There is still the possibility that a plea could be made but from what I have read, I don't think the Alexander's want that and want to move forward with the penalty phase and I'm pretty sure that the DA's office will defer to the family on that choice.

Evening everyone :seeya:
Just popping in for a short while and I thought I'd post something that came in my e-mail this AM from the Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, NY:

Another year at the nest of the Great Blue Herons of Sapsucker Woods, Ithaca, NY, as featured live on the Cornell Lab's Bird Cams. Since 2009 and possibly earlier, the male has returned every year, but this year's female appeared to me a new mate. This video slideshow features highlights from the season, following the pair as they court, lay eggs, and successfully raise three chicks.

another miracle of life :seeya:

I just want some answers.

I wish you and your bf the best in trying to get some answers. The process can be long and difficult, especially with neurological issues.

I hit the end of the road with neurologists and have not been able to gather up the fortitude to pick up the fight again. It is scary to see decline and not have a name for it or anyone to help.

Last week, my son was walking across the front yard and I spotted him about 10 feet from where I was sitting. I thought it was some stranger in the neighborhood and it frightened me when I realized it was my son who I did not recognize at first.

oh, i also wanted to add, that when i was in South Carolina recently on the military base there, i met a man who was there visiting his son from Maricopa County. of course i asked him if he had heard of the jodi arias case and he said he had no clue what i was talking about. this was a very intelligent man from other aspects of our conversation, so yes, there are still people out there who could serve on the penalty phase jury! his wife also said she recognized the name but didn't know anything about it i was shocked!

Just to post some more nothing for everyone: :floorlaugh:

Zen
1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either; just leave me the hell alone.
2. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fan belt and a leaky tire.
3. It's always darkest before dawn. So if you're going to steal your neighbor's newspaper, that's the time to do it.
4. Don't be irreplaceable; if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.
5. No one is listening until you make a mistake.
6. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
7. Never test the depth of the water with both feet.
8. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
9. It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help.
10. If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments.
11. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
12. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
13. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat & drink beer all day.
14. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
15. Don't squat with your spurs on.
16. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
17. If you drink, don't park; accidents cause people.
18. Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield.
19. Don't worry, it only seems kinky the first time.
20. Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
21. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
22. Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
23. A closed mouth gathers no food.
24. Duct tape is like the force; it has a light side & a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
25. There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works.
26. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving.
27. Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
28. Never miss a good chance to shut up.

Two Parrots
This lady approaches a priest and tells him, "Father, I these two talking female parrots, but they only know how to say one thing: 'Hi, we're prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?' "
"That's terrible!" the priest exclaimed, "but I have a solution to your problem. You can put them with my two male talking parrots. I taught them to read the bible and pray the rosary."
The lady brings over her parrots and puts them in the priest's cage. "Hi, we're prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?" they say.
One male parrot looks over at the other and exclaims, "Put the beads away. Our prayers have been answered!"

Genius Dog
A butcher is busy at work when notices a dog in his shop. He shoos the dog away. Later, he notices the dog is back again. He walks over to the dog, and notices that the dog has a note in his mouth. The butcher takes the note which reads, "Can I have 12 sausages and a leg of lamb, please."
The butcher looks, and lo and behold, in the dog's mouth, there is a ten dollar bill. So the butcher takes the money, puts the sausages and lamb in a bag, and places it in the dog's mouth.
The butcher is very impressed, and since it's closing time, he decides to close up shop and follow the dog. So, off he goes. The dog is walking down the street and comes to a crossing. The dog puts down the bag, jumps up and presses the crossing button. Then he waits patiently, bag in mouth, for the lights to change. They do, and he walks across the road, with the butcher following. The dog then comes to a bus stop, and starts looking at the timetable. The butcher is in awe at this stage. The dog checks out the times, and sits on one of the seats to wait for the bus.
Along comes a bus. The dog walks to the front of the bus, looks at the number, and goes back to his seat. Another bus comes. Again the dog goes and looks at the number, notices it's the right bus, and climbs on. The butcher, by now open-mouthed, follows him onto the bus.
The bus travels thru town and out to the suburbs. Eventually the dog gets up, moves to the front of the bus, stands on his hind legs and pushes the button to stop the bus. The dog gets off, groceries still in his mouth, with the butcher still following. They walk down the road, and the dog approaches a house.
He walks up the path, and drops the groceries on the step. Then he walks back down the path, takes a big run, and throws himself -whap!- against the door. He goes back down the path, takes another run, and throws himself -whap!- against the door again!
There's no answer at the door, so the dog goes back down the path, jumps up on a narrow wall, and walks along the perimeter of the garden. He gets to a window, and bangs his head against it several times. He walks back, jumps off the wall, and waits at the door. The butcher watches as a big guy opens the door, and starts laying into the dog, really yelling at him.
The butcher runs up and stops the guy. "What the heck are you doing? This dog is a genius. He could be on TV, for God's sake!"
"Clever, my 🤬🤬🤬," the guy responds, "This is the second time this week he's forgotten his key!"

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH- I love the pandas (finally getting to see one of the twins)!!
:blowkiss:

They have the worst webcam I've ever seen, but it is a little better when they don't zoom in so much. I watch them 10 times a day or so! And that's what I want for Xmas, a real panda! :floorlaugh:
