Things are pretty quiet here tonight, and I am tired. Time to go :offtobed:.

Good night everyone. :seeya:

I had a French Dip, one of my favorites. :)

Golly I feel so special cause y'all missed me!

:blushing:

When you and the Queen aren't here we :panic:. Just shows how much you're loved around here. :blowkiss:

But I'm very envious of your French Dip. That's my favorite! :snooty:

No matter how easy or difficult the childbirth experience is, the joy of seeing a healthy newborn baby overshadows any labor pain. Words cannot truly describe the powerful emotions one feels when laying eyes on that precious newborn.

And you know that you would kill anyone that tried to hurt them, and you wouldn't blink an eye.

My second labor was different from the first in strength and location. I had my daughter in a little over two hours. I kept telling my OB that my mother and sister both had labors of two to three hours, and he kept telling me first time labors takes at lest six hours. I had three contraction at five minutes apart, then a few at one minute and she was here. The contractions were mostly in front and high. He asked me what I was doing going from three to ten centimeter in thirty minutes. I told him I warned you, and on I saw a note on my chart when I was pregnant with my son. It said watch her, she goes fast.

My son's labor was longer. He was born exactly four hours from start to finish, and was eight pounds six ounces. The contraction with him were low down and started in my back and move forward, then recede. When they were going to take me to delivery (shows you how much different it is today than being in the same room) and talked back and forth in should they take me first or the woman that was on her fifth c section. I won that argument.

Relax, enjoy your pregnancy, take advantage of it. Put your feet up. Baby yourself with mani and pedis; you won't be able to soon. Take long soaks and enjoy it. You're life will never be the same. You'll wonder if you can die from lack of sleep those first few nights, but you'll be OK. Enjoy drinking something that is yours alone, and not have to share with a bald baby with a goofy smile that loves to gum the rim of your glass ice tea.

Tell yourself and your baby that you're learning as you go, and you'll the best job that you can. And relax.

I am cracking up! Labor never scared me. ( maybe because I saw several live births in nursing school and it did have a beginning, a middle, and an end)

I was in and out of labor for a week before I had my daughter, 14 weeks early!!! One Dr said let her labor, another would come in and stop it. -kinda frustrating...

I am scared to death of getting a tattoo! I have always wanted one but they don't give epidurals for tats! :D

If labor were that bad everyone would be an only child like me.

I never thought about it, but I wonder how the pregnancy/delivery went when JA's mom had her. -not that it made her evil - just curious!

BBM: So true ILTBP. And 19 years later, I would still kill anyone who tried to hurt him. It's the mama bear in me LoL.

The first one is a learning experience for sure. I did so many things differently with my second son. I think they have made motherhood one big guilt trip now, and it makes it so much harder for mothers to have confidence in raising their child. How did any of us survive when our moms didn't have "how to" manuals and "self help" books. I went on gut instinct with my second son, and he's much more well adjusted than my oldest. All those "how to" books are fine, but when it seems like none of that textbook stuff is working, it makes you feel inadequate.

If you have a good support system though, and make some time for you, it makes a big difference.

I don't know...I'm terrified lol.

Love your new avatar! :)

I thought I was gonna die from having my ears pierced!

I adopted....:)

I heard too much about episiotomies and labor....I said, "oh hell no!"

I was born in 1964.... They actually knocked my mom out...when she woke up, she was all done and they handed her a cleaned up baby!

That to me sounds perfect! Too bad they don't still do it that way.

I've been canning for two days straight!

String beans, pickles and carrots.

Tomorrow I start on the soups..:)

I love canning!

Yeah! Good! One less freak breathing air

Wow! I think I predicted that one somewhere online.
I hope those girls can begin living their lives now.
The one that spoke in court was so brave! I pray they have true peace now.
Thanks Linda!!!

I hear ya! Back in the day (I was born 1960) the nurses actually took the baby for the night and let the poor exhausted mother get some sleep. With mine they more or less expected me to "suck it up" after being in labor all night (both of mine came in the middle of the night). And then wondered why I was the world's worst patient! Sure, I'm up all night in extreme labor and I can handle another 24 hours with the baby crying. (My boo hoo for the night LoL). Things were different back then for sure.

My first born was an emergency c-section, so I had the epidural which blocked out all the pain (ahhhhh, relief). I had a few staples, but I bounced back pretty quick. I was so scared of the hard labor I had with him though (even the nurse couldn't believe how close together the contractions were) that I begged for a c-section again with my second. The doctor asked me if I would have a natural birth if he could guarantee it would be pain free. Sure....sign me up. Pain free is great. Had the epidural again, but what they don't tell you is that when you don't "feel" down there you can "tear". I probably had close to 20 stitches. He had a BIG HEAD. :floorlaugh:.

Don't let anyone discourage you m. I've heard of ladies that say they would do it a dozen times their labor was so easy. But however it goes, having children is the most emotional experience you'll ever feel. And when you hold them for the first time you fall in love. Babies smell so good (well not always), but after bath or diaper change (baby powder, my favorite scent), or when you baby oil them up.....there's no smell like that in the world.
------------

I was all prepared for the shots etc.. my first the placenta abrupted. OMG the pain but all I did was pray for my baby. C section still birth. With Joey c section again, Dr. said his shoulders were so big I couldnt have got him out. Massive infection in scar, 1mo. in hospital. But he was soooo cute!! the first time he looked at me, he frowned. Oh he was beautiful..8 1/2 lbs of adorable. Two weeks later I weighed 111lbs...(no more)..Love that smell too!! :seeya:

You are truly a wonderful mother Nore, if you remember it that fondly after what you went through. My C-section was because he wasn't withstanding the labor well. His heartrate kept dropping every time I had a contraction.
When he was born he was blue, and I was terrified until the doctor told me he was going to be okay. He was only 6 lbs 1 oz when he was born. I called him my little peanut LoL.

ETA: I had Placenta Previa with my first. I was lucky that it corrected early in the pregnancy or I would have been in bed for weeks. It's very dangerous for mom and baby. Hmmmm, maybe the weeks in bed part wouldn't have been so bad though :floorlaugh:. God bless Nore. I'm sorry you went through the pain of losing a child.

My MIL does everything in her bed. When she's not doing something, she's in her bed. She watches tv from there and even eats her meals there. When we visit her home, we all congregate in her bedroom and eat snacks, sometimes meals, and watch tv in there! LOL! She can't stand sitting on a chair or couch now.

Do u have a tv in yuor bedroom? 'Cause I really want one in mine b/c i LOVE watching movies and tv in bed, but everyone says it's not a good idea to put a tv in your bedroom. I suppose I could watch movies on my laptop, but it's kind of old. Can't wait to upgrade to a new laptop.

Oh Yes I have a TV in the room, a pretty big flat screen on the wall. We bought a new bed and mattress when we bought out house 2 years ago and it is a pillow top and sooooo comfy and plush.

Hubby hogs the TV in the living room so I go to the bedroom. I work from home writing so i do my work in bed. Pajamas are my work clothes, lol.

Hubby and I watch Tv as we go to sleep. He like old westerns so I let him watch them and he conks out in about 10 minutes and then I put my show on. He tied the TV remote to his side of the bed (so i wouldn't take it and lose it) so I had to buy me one for me to use!:floorlaugh:

The remote has a nasty habit of crawling off and getting lost in my bed too.
Then sometimes when I throw the covers off it goes sailing across the room!
Maybe I should tie mine down too!?
