That's nice that you are at a friends house instead of a dark house. Have a nice relaxing time. Hope your power is restored within a reasonable time.

Weather is on now and the weather lady is saying we are expecting 8 to 12 inches in our area. More in northern CT. She is explaining this is a 3 part system with heavy snow, wintery mix and again heavy snow and wind gusts. Power outages likely. NO!!!! No power means no heat, no toilet flushing, no lights. Ugh!!! They weren't kidding when they reported February was going to be a very active month.

You need power to flush? Electric toilets? :floorlaugh:

Stay warm and dry! Yes, I'm good for now but they have ROKU instead of regular TV so I can't watch the Olympics tonight.

We finally had some snow yesterday. Hurrah

Lasted about an hour then the rain came and it's all gone.

OMG Josie, we have snow piled so high it is considered a road hazard. It's impossible to see over it. No where else to put it. Going below zero F. tonight.

The water pump does not run without electricity, so the toilet won't refill with water without electricity. :notgood: Can get pretty yukky. lol

I don't think we will spring anytime soon, just as, I don't think we will see this retrial anytime soon. At least not as soon as we would like.

You should be able to put water in the toilet tank. Fill up a bathtub, jugs, etc. with water, put some in the tank and then you can pee. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

We use to fill up the tub and use a bucket of water for flushing. Just pour the water into the bowl and it will go down. Our pump was electric, too. We had a woodstove and grill outside. So we were warm and could eat. We also had a plow so we could get our 4 wheel vehicle out. Life on a dirt road in Connecticut in the winter. LOL

No offense to my friends in the South (I understand that southern states aren't equipped for this weather), but I saw this on Facebook and just had to share. Made me giggle.

We always fill the tub before we get a hurricane. I don't know why we never did with a snowstorm. It makes a lot of sense. Color me dumb. We have a snow blower. I think the driveway will be have to be plowed out twice; once for round one and again for round two.
Yup, there are a lot of dirt roads and winding, hilly, skinny roads, enough for one vehicle around our area also.

I totally understand! The South just isn't equipped like the northern states are.

Please stay safe...I know you're getting ice and snow....very dangerous regardless of your location.

Oh my! I have a natural gas furnace and hot water tank, but then again, it's colder up here. Today was :spring: like. It was 45 F.

Can you not add water into the tank, then flush?

Very true! Here if we see or know flurries are coming, we go get bread, milk and toilet paper in case we're stuck at home for a few days! :floorlaugh:
