Have a Happy Valentine's Day friends !!! :valentine:

This is one of my favorite songs, especially for Valentine's Day :valentine: This is a totally different sound from the version by Chet Baker, but I like it too. Frank Sinatra, with his daughter, Nancy:

Happy valentines everyone...
Hope your significant others spoil you.
I am spoiling myself with some new blinds :floorlaugh:

As far as inmates protesting the food, I don't think Sheriff Joe will care.

That tray does not look appetizing. The soy protein is just blobbed in there. They must be boiling TVP, which really is not very healthy at all, but neither is bologna or honey buns.

I think I spied a pack of Oreos. Guess those are donated to jails? Kind of pricey next to TVP, mashed potatoes, cheap roll, what looks like it could be broccoli.

It's still snowing!

I can't believe how much snow we have here! Must be at least 2' and still coming.
Couldn't get the back door open for The Queen.
Thank goodness for the dog door. I stuck my hand out the flap and brushed the snow away with a big spoon :floorlaugh: so I could open the door, clear the porch, and steps to make a latrine  for The Queen to do her business. :scared:

Unbelievable!! :tantrum:

I'm home again ... to my own bed, cable TV for Olympics and the trial!

Oh no, Russian ice skater Plushenko is injured and has withdrawn. :(

I was so bummed when I watched that yesterday morning (I get CBC Canada, so I watch most stuff in real time, coverage kicks off at midnight every night!).
I almost cried when he skated over to the judges, I so wanted to see if he could win one more gold. Honestly though, his competition is fierce now that A LOT of the guys are doing quads, so not sure he would have.
I actually think he should have got the gold in 2010 when he was the ONLY one who did a quad. They gave is to Evan Lysacek instead, and he skated fine but he did not skate fine AND do a quad. (This is coming from an American too, so I should shut up and accept the gold, lol. But fair is fair!).

Anyway....sorry to ramble, I was excited to find a fellow Olympic watcher :blushing:

HAPPY VDAY Everyone, hope it is full of sweetness and love for all! :loveyou:

Everyone in snow areas, don't go out unless you have to. The news is showing all the accidents around the nation, and it is bad.

On the way into work here, all the roads were snow covered in ice. The parking lot and sidewalks were solid ice too, then the boss sent me to the bank which is ice again. I remembered never worrying about falling when younger, and now I just worry about breaking something.

Stay in unless it is an emergency, and stay warm!

Happy Valentine's Day. To my surprise, I got an edible fruit basket and it is so so so good.
Hope everyone has a nice day and stays warm. Down South, we are beginning to thaw.

We are expecting temps in the 70's next week. I'll take it. LOL

My son received a call from Hospice today and he had to decline the assignment because there's so much snow in the driveway and no way to get out.
Heard there's another storm coming- a "fast" storm. :scared:

I also worry about falling now that I'm an old bag.

It finally stopped snowing and it did get to 38 degrees, but it's down again to 32 right now.

I've been using so much propane to heat the house- we're down to 45 (that means we have 90 gal. in 2 -100 gal tanks- which are really 160 [20 for expansion] :abnormal:). Just filled up about 2 weeks ago.
Delivery is not until next Friday. Hope we don't run out- never mind that it's gonna cost way mucho money for this delivery. It gets really cold here at night.

Think I need :needdrink: and a cigarette or 3. :notgood:

:sigh:

YesorNo, I hope you have some alternative heat source if needed. Bundle up really well in layers, that's what mom and dad did with us when little and broke, to the point I thought I couldn't move. Finally a grandma gave us sleeping bags to add to the ton of blankets and afghans on the beds too, but they were so cozy and warm.

BBM I'm not little :floorlaugh:, but broke- pretty much.

But I really don't complain as I have more than some people have- thank goodness for that. I can pay my bills and have plenty of food and misc. junk to keep me happy and busy (like my computer and WS :loveyou:).

I have 3 blankets and such on my bed at night (and The Queen) to keep me warm. I do have some space heaters, also, if needed, but if I don't have propane, I don't have hot water- that's the worst. :scared:
And the smell from the stove pilot lights when not lite because of no propane in the tanks, is horrendous- like really rotten eggs. :(

I misjudged the gauge in the tanks when I first moved to this house and let the tanks become empty and the smell was so bad. Thank goodness it was warm out and I opened all the windows in the house.

:seeya:

Looks like Nurmi and Wilmott got wind of this on Justice for Travis website:

Nymeria ... he really was fascinating to watch, one of the best and hopefully he won't need another surgery. He'll go on to coaching I suppose.
The 18 year old skater from Japan blows me away!

PHOENIX - Authorities say several inmates at a Maricopa County jail are on a hunger strike, protesting the new menu.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the pre-trial female inmates at the Estrella Jail started the protest on Monday.

It apparently began with seven inmates who complained about the new vegetarian, soy-based menu instituted by Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Arpaio said the women who are complaining are incarcerated in the maximum security pod for serious crimes.

He said everyone in the jail gets the same food...

Arpaio added, "They ought to shut up and eat what they have. They happen to be in jail and I happen to be the sheriff and I'm the chief chef, too. I decide what they eat."....

Take a look at the dinner tray they have pictured - :puke:
Think I'm in love with Sheriff Joe.:cheerful:

Poor :anguish: inmates.
I'll beam them a :cupcake: :giggle:
I won't comment on that brown stuff or the veggies that looked like they were trampled by angry horses lol but...that bread roll, mashed potatoes, and packaged snack don't look too bad at all. And pb jelly sandwiches? How lucky. As an honest hardworking individual, I'm gonna be struggling with groceries til next fri, and these criminals with free room and board, who cannot adhere to the rules of society have the nerve to complain.
I don't care for sheriff Joe, and find him to be somewhat of a tool...but he's right. They ought to shut up

Still waiting on Dunn verdict.

Where is everyone?

OK, they eat better than most people do. I'd love to have vegetarian, soy-based meals everyday!

I agree with Sheriff Joe Arpaio, just shaddup and eat what you are given.
