I have had nothing but troubles using WS on my ipad since the update last week to ios 8. :storming mad: I started a reply to you twice already, and both times the page has frozen before I got it done. That started happening last night. grrrrr arrghhh! I am now writing from my PC (Microsoft product)

Are you still using your ipad here? Did you do the ios 8 update? If so, check out what I wrote (and got a few replies to) at our old thread "Important Message to Members" when we did the update here at WS. Add your problems there, if you don't mind.

I think the consensus is that it probably is an Apple problem. If you can, please write to the link for Apple Support. The more people who let them know their ipads are not working properly since the update, the more likely they will do something about it soon. Thanks, Curious!

I am pizzed that psychiatrist appears to only be addressing him having problems sleeping. He is doing ok ~~ there are times we are walking on eggshells around here. Afraid of "triggers". He is still in intensive therapy (thankfully he is going by himself cause I need my time ( hope that doesn't sound heartless but...)
I'm still stressed but ~~i am hoping that I will be able to run away November 18th--just crazy around here. Ohhhhhhhh his older brother told my SIL that it was to bad he didn't have a gun!!! I'm still dealing with that one! DH admires brother. Gag me!

Did your DH sign a release giving you permission to discuss his treatment and meds? Many vets do NOT allow their spouses privy to the info. With my vet BF, it was a "sign it or take a walk". Seriously. I don't want to be the last one to know, and suffer the blowback, if his issues and meds are not being addressed. With his bipolar, PTSD, and panic disorder, it's an incredible amount of issues to deal with even when he IS taking his meds as prescribed. The incredible amount of benzos he was prescribed over the last 17 years have caused extreme forgetfulness, DANGEROUS forgetfulness, something that is a constant. Even with his slow reduction in the last 6 months, it's irreversible, and possibly will culminate into dementia. The lithium makes him tired, unmotivated, and prone to eating far more than he should, and not healthy food at that.
I still don't have a valid explanation for the bevy of tests they did over the past year to find if he suffered from Alzhiemers. All I got from his "nurse" was that the found "spots". Maybe caused by his alcoholism 17 years past, maybe from his age, 65, going on 66.
Marriage is an "iffy" subject". Been with him, going on 11 years, and I just don't know.

Zoloft is for sleep and Weĺlbutrin is for anxiety, or so my doctor said. Wanted me to take it when my daughter was in hospital. I said no.

Zoloft and Welbutrin are anti depressants, been there, done that. Lasted one week on Zoloft, lost 10 pounds..which is extreme for someone who was 107 to start, and 5'1, totally lost my appetite. Welbutrin for over 4 years, made me feel like a wide awake drunk.
Everybody's body chemistry is different, what works for one may be disastrous for others. Been doing "OK" with Effexor and Xanax the last few years, but dealing with menopause. Won't go on HRT's because of the cancer risk.
Believe me, I've been under the Mental Health umbrella for 25 years. Sometimes the meds are "toxic" for me, sometimes they're a life saver.
But, basically, it sucks.

I've given him that also tried tylenol pm~~he sash prescribed trazadone but that is making him groggy. I'm leary of anti depressants only because he has so far to drive.

It takes a while to get past the grogginess. The earlier he takes it at night, the less groggy he'll feel. Give it about 2 weeks for him to become accustomed to it. The same thing with anti-depressants.........it takes time, something that those that work don't really have to get accustom to the effects.
I dealt with that for the first 5 years, and finally my doc permanently disabled me, which took another 5 years for me to accept. Grrrrr!

(he is in his 70's now)

So I wonder if Parker was Travis' bishop/scout master/whatever when Travis lived in Cali? Private conversations are protected under Religious privilege.

Maybe Mr. Parker was the bishop that missy:jail: called- didn't she say she called a bishop??? (oh- how much I have forgotten in a year's time :gaah:).

Not likely. We always have had some glitches with updates that are corrected in a short times This is a much larger problem, though.

Gosh, all this is making me scared to do the new update!

Good idea....I would wait a few weeks and see how it is going

You are welcome, and that is probably a good idea.

Nali what version iPad do you use? Mine are iPad 2 and mini-iPad and I have problems with both now that I never had before the update. Did you do the Apple update to ios8 ?

  • #653
Yes I did the update to ios8 Spellbound and I have an iPad 2. I do live in the Netherlands though, maybe that plays a role?

Hi Zoey. Sorry that melatonin isn't an answer for your DH. I'm a believer in prescription meds, but I also trust common sense remedies as well.

I've been battling a chronic neurological disease for 11 years so I know the drill. One absolute basic necessity for all things CNS is a heavy duty vitamin B complex. Every day, in the morning.

It makes a huge difference,,even if DH doesn't see the results.

Hello everyone!

Update on the King Fire about 15 miles east of us. It's up to 90,000 acres burned, 35% contained, with 7,000 firefighters on the line...

Would hate to be in this:

Over heard a "blip" of it on the news BF was watching this morning. Is there going to be an issue with the wind today? Heard you guys were in for some warm weather, not fun!

We're probably going to have a repeat of this summer's fires in the next month or so, a lot of vegetation from all the rain this past August and this month is going to dry up and who knows when the wood stoves will get fired up this year. Have temps in the low 50's in the early AM, one morning it was 48. We don't light our's up til it hits below 36 degrees. And wood prices have gone up again, $225 a cord for juniper.

Called the vet, NOT going to do it. They'd do a pelvic, but they'd tranq Kissy, NOT cool. What happened to the vets who just shoved their hand up there with no drugs on board? And then they asked if I wanted to trailer her to the equine facility.........like, "Are you kidding?" 3 miles of wash board cattle track before you hit pavement, a heavily pregnant mare with separation anxiety, sounds like a REALLY good idea................pfffffftttttttttt!!!!! Let's just have her foal in the trailer, that's the plan.
I am majorly stressing.

Just going to have to white knuckle it, and hopefully, the foal will just be there one morning.
