@TrialDiariesJ: Juan "Are you willing to look behind me and accept that woman right there is guilty of 1st degree murder?" #jodiarias

It would have been funny if one of the potential jurors replied with....

"I'll go one step further and if you can give me 5 minutes in a room alone with her, I will be glad to divy out her punishment for the state, and then we all could go home." :)

Pictures of the twins

Why do they have the same hairstyle???? Crazy. Seems like one of them would have changed their hair style.
I do notice that one of the gigglers has darker hair than the other. Even have the same neckline on their tops.

missy's:jail: mother is on the right? She has more "jowls" and darker, longer hair- and more of a "stern" look to me- the Aunt has a more relaxed face, IMO.

They both are disrespectful of the court and their daughter's plight, IMO.

During the 1st trial, I was shocked at how it always appeared they were almost enjoying the trial. Like they were watching a movie or something. I never got the sense they really cared what happened to either Travis or Jodi.

Don't forget the trip to the Grand Canyon during verdict watch. "Gee, we have a few hours or days to kill (bad pun) while a jury decides our loved one's fate, what should we do?"

I thought it was the killer's sister that went to the Grand Canyon. My oldtimers is probably kicking in.

Y or N, my opinion of MK isn't any reflection at all on you and your posts. He brings out the worst in me, as does the defense team. And truly, I am getting so old now that my memory is failing too often. I likely remember him because of the truly bad things he said to the Alexander family. You just don't do that the the relatives of a victim.
The math is really simple: he slants his articles to paint the convict in a favourable light and the victim negatively, and he gets his scoops and exclusives along the way, with the ultimate goal of getting that exclusive interview when the the trial is over. He's no different than the other leeches with agendas that have latched onto the convict and her 'cause' (the mitigation specialist also comes to mind). The disdain people have for MK is well placed. :moo:

Kensie is correct. The sisters (mom and Aunt) didn't go to the Grand Canyon- missy's:jail: father, on the way home because he felt ill, and their son, daughter (and her husband) stopped at the Grand Canyon.
I do remember that everyone was confused as to what was happening that day- I thought there was a jury question. :scared:

Arias' mom upset she didn't know about verdict

I agree... it was just toooooooooooooooooooooo strange. Never seen before anything like her mother in a courtroom with the mother's sister. SMH

I used to have a bizarre reaction when I was scared, I would laugh. I was on a bus in Nashville once, and this guy knifed another guy on the bus and I was terrified but I laughed. I was quite a bit younger then, in my early twenties, and I was not laughing because I was amused or thought anything was funny. That was just how I handled things. This one girl that lived across the street from me when I was about 18, her parents got into a fight. A real fight. The dad was hitting mom and dragging her by her hair back into the house and I laughed. The girl's name was Sheila. I'll never forget her. She threatened to kick my butt and was furious with me, but it was nervousness. I did outgrow it thankfully, but maybe JA's mom has a weird way of dealing with things too.

Surely after seeing those photos in court and seeing his grieving family, she has empathy and compassion. Maybe she thought that if she showed the jury that her daughter disgusted her or scared her, that would sway them somehow. I'm not excusing her, but I really am trying to figure out how anyone can act that way let alone feel that way. I myself would be apologizing to anyone and everyone for what my daughter did, but maybe I'm weird. I can only really apologize for my own actions, but I know I would have tried to convey to TA's family how sorry I am even if they didn't want to see me. I wonder if she ever did?

A lot of people laugh when they are nervous, scared. You can tell the difference between a nervous laugh and a belly laugh or laugh with mirth.

CMJA mother and aunt's were extremely disrespectful. They were conversing and laughing during testimony. They also gave the Alexander family the evil eye. Sometimes it is what it appears to be...

Soooo not a linebacker pose....Steelers Troy Polamalu or Packers Clay Matthews can show her what a real one is LOL

I am basically a nice and compassionate person. When I see CMJA on tv or in the pics here, I am reviled and filled with an emotion that is atypical for me. It borders on hatred and I hate only two people: the men that killed my brother.

This trial brought out a lot of different emotions in people and none of them I would call inappropriate like the twins. It haunted many of us. It also brought us together and I have to believe that part is Travis. JMV

I've just watched Jodi's first day on the stand. She doesn't even hide her lies. I don't believe she was abused as badly as she claims by her parents. She seemed almost proud to claim that they beat her. No solemness, no grief at a "ruined" childhood, no concern for her younger siblings when she left, and no animosity at her parents despite them battering her. Oh and daddy knocked her out, just like the "intruder" did at Travis' house. And then she's abused by "Bobby"? And she's not concerned that a man tried to strangle her and break her arm? I've survived a marriage that was physically abusive. I stayed much longer than I should have. But I couldn't smile about it when talking about it. She looked like she just wasn't bothered that this man had hurt her. I can't wait for Juan to rip into her in cross, but the speed Nurmi is going we are going to have to hear details about each hour of each day from 2000-2008!

Oh I do have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE Travis' sister, the one who's looks towards Jodi are as cutting as her cheekbones. She is great! I think she would personally inject Jodi with the lethal injection given half a chance!

The last panel of jurors in ‪#‎JodiArias‬' penalty phase retrial just left. Several panels of 6 to 7 potential jurors were questioned by Martinez and Nurmi all day, based on their questionnaires completed last week. By my count, 27 jurors made the cut and will return for the final round of questions and peremptory strikes on Thursday, October 16. Opening statements are still set for Monday, October 20.
