In the first trial, didn't CMJA put her jacket on when Daryl testified? Just thinking........."dress to impress" kinda thing?

I can't imagine thinking at this point that anyone is nuts. Outside of the courtroom, that is.

Nurmi said in opening that the killer's dad choked her until she was unconscious. And he made it sound like that happened more than once or twice. We never heard that the first time around and it struck me odd that he would say that...unless he had Dad's approval to say it.

Which makes me suspect mystery witness is Daddy Dearest.

This is another lie. Can't JM call her a liar and then show the jury what she said last year about her dad? Here is what JA said in 1st trial

JODI ARIAS, ACCUSED MURDERER: I don`t really remember except Travis was screaming. I think I got knocked out, but I don`t think I was out long. I know I got knocked in the head and I'd gotten knocked in the head once by my dad when he was just really mad. And it wasn`t like -- actually he didn`t knock me in the head, he just pushed me against the wall and I hit my head and I fell.

If the witness name is leaked would this cause a mistrial?

It shouldn't.

If the witness is a minor I do not think it would be leaked. Unless by a JA supporter. I cannot see how it could be a mistrial though, even if it was a minor and the name leaked. But I do not know how it will be handled.

I say "will" because I do expect it to be leaked somewhere along the way.

He can, and hopefully the jury will "get it."

I have a feeling that whoever is testifying in secrecy this day is...being less than truthful. Otherwise there would be no reason for them to fear speaking in public.
IMO.

Check the motions. Cheryl Karp could testify under pseudonym.

Twitter is giving me a headache......the pro CMJA's are coming out.

But isn't this EXACTLY why trials are open to the public? So that anyone who has an interest can listen and come forward if they hear something that they *know* is untrue/incorrect? I think it's madness to allow this witness to testify in complete anonymity and sequestered in a way that no one can even hear or read what is said.

So that's pretty much it til next Monday, unless the secret witness is still on the stand. Maybe someone will leak who the witness is between now and then?

I think you are onto something here! She testified in DeVault trial.

I cannot imagine why her testimony would have to be private, then again I cannot imagine anyone's testimony having to be private--unless they plan to lie.

It is why trials are public. Which is why I cannot figure out how the court is getting away with this. Even in trials where minors testify it is done without a camera in their face...often they are in a separate room, and sometimes testimony is videotaped and played in court, but court remains open to spectators and media, etc.

Judge closed the courtroom for the first defense witness in #JodiArias. I've never seen anything quite like this.

12News and AZCentral are appealing the judge's ruling in the #JodiArias case and hve moved to obtain transcripts... http://fb.me/2ecpWR1BH

I'm finding info online.

Jody and Carl were inseparable up until about the age of seven - the time that Jodi started getting hit by the wooden spoon. Carl was born in 1982. So she's two years old.

The babysitter Beth Hawkins on CNN

One incident in particular, I was called to babysit on a weekend night, I believe it was, and I was in the kitchen cooking them dinner, and they were in Jodi`s room, I believe, and they were just kind of interacting with each other. And all of a sudden, I just heard Carl just let out this bloodcurdling scream. I went in there and he had a pretty good knot on the top of his head. Jodi was standing there and Carl was crying, and he kept trying to tell me that she hit him. He was probably about three or four at the time.

So how old was Jodi when she had to pick up (IIRC Jodi said brother and sisters) the dirty diapers? Six or so? violence at such an early age isn't good.
