Judge refuses to stop blocking access to Jodi Arias trial

"On Friday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens denied a motion by The Arizona Republic, 12 News and Meredith Corporation, which owns local TV stations Channels 3 and 5, to prevent her from blocking media access to testimony in the Jodi Arias trial.

The media outlets had asked "to stay closed portions of trial."

That means not locking out the press and public during any testimony while waiting for the Arizona Court of Appeals to rule on a special action, or expedited appeal, filed late Thursday after reporters were ousted from the courtroom...."

No parole for 'Angry Betty' Broderick

"(CNN) -- Elisabeth "Betty" Broderick, once a socially prominent lawyer's wife who fatally shot her ex-husband and his new wife in bed in 1989, has been denied parole....
"She was totally not remorseful, didn't even try," said Richard Sachs, a San Diego prosecutor who handles so-called "lifer hearings." Broderick won't be eligible for another parole hearing for 15 years -- the maximum time the law allows..."

I guess Aunt Sue, Jodi, and the rest of them are made from the same cloth. (No comment about the father as he has remained fairly quiet). Amazing to me that they enable and coddle a murderer. Attacking the victim's family...it doesn't get any lower than that.

"Parricide - Shot her three children in order to make herself available for the man she obsessively loved...
Sentenced to life in prison plus fifty years in 1984. Downs escaped on July 11, 1987, and was recaptured on July 21. She received a five-year sentence for the escape...
Downs was found guilty on all charges on June 17, 1984, and sentenced to life in prison plus fifty years. Psychiatrists diagnosed Downs with narcissistic, histrionic and antisocial personality disorders. Most of her sentence is to be served consecutively. The judge made it clear that he did not wish Downs to ever regain her freedom....

"From The Oregonian of Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 -- Downs gets first chance at parole: The child killer says her prison-break attempts prove she deserves freedom..."

The Alexander family has stayed remarkably out of the news. The only person who has anything to gain by a leak is JA, herself. Not hard to figure out. jmo

Arizona woman who killed baby in 1963 likely to get parole
By Bob Ortega - AzCentral.com
July 12, 2012

"Betty Smithey has served 49 years of a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the murder of a child on New Year's Day in 1963.

Now, after being denied clemency by two previous governors and serving more prison time than any other woman in the U.S., Smithey is eligible for parole..."

Betty Smithey Released: Nation's Longest Serving Female Inmate Free In Arizona After 49 Years
HuffingtonPost.com
August 15, 2012

"In 1963, Betty Smithey walked into prison with a life sentence for murder. On Monday, she walked out with a cane.

America's longest serving female inmate, Smithey was released from the Arizona State Prison Complex after spending 49 years behind bars for the murder of a 15-month-old child...

Smithey, with a history of mental illness, was convicted in the 1963 New Year's Day murder of toddler Sandy Gerberick, who she strangled while babysitting. The court sentenced her to life without parole.

Smithey's repeated appeals went unfulfilled for decades under an Arizona law that stipulates only an acting governor can grant clemency to an inmate. Eventually, acting-governor Jan Brewer lowered her sentence to 48-years to life...

LOL Must be the time change that is affecting my brain. Sorry, YESorNo, I was thinking of you when I copied it but figured I lost it. So you didn't miss it, it was me.

We know the defense team, minions and dies read here....they get their ideas from us and social media.

So how for you think the felon, defense, minions and spies would react if WS stopped talking about the trial....and we moved on to another trial? Also that other social sites did the same thing? Like who cares about her....we know Travis will get justice with JM....we know she is going to prison and will have a hard time....so who cares about her. How would she react? Because I am seriously thinking of tuning into a different trial....

Am editing this to add....because she feeds off of us...and so do the others.

I'd think they feed off the main CMJA re-trial feed more *JMO* or other "sleuth" type web forums. They're looking for salacious and foul remarks, the comments peppered with profanity, and those whose feathers are easily ruffled.

They have one intense obsession, oblivious to facts or the legal system, a lunatic fringe that still can't come up with a solid, provable scenario as to what happened and why. None of their theories fit. Common sense is a non issue.

We're here on Websleuths because of the victims, and their families. Most of us follow many cases, from start to finish, from crime to punishment. Many of us have been victims, family of victims, friends and neighbors of victims.

“He that wrestles with us strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper.” Edmund Burke

It's far better that one searching for details on a specific crime on the Web have the opportunity to come across Websleuths and the "think tank" we offer, than just be stuck with the babbling of mindless cult hero worship.

......and my font got stuck........blah.

As Ive said in the past and will say again, is Jodi guilty of murder , Yes could Travis possibly have avoided his self being murdered by being honest and not allowing her in his home merely for his sexual need, .YES he could have. He played her to and then she killed him....I agree she should be given a life sentence but if he were here, he should pay as well, not a wise idea to toy with crazy ppl and their emtions, Travis learned the hard way and alittle to late..

<modsnip> He played her? No. She played him. Further, she was intent on killing him. Had he not been home, there would have been another day. Had he not let her in, she would have found another way. <modsnip> No one deserves what happened to Travis.

I think some people forget that his is a victim friendly site and should rethink where they spend their time posting!
