That is very cool, KCL. So, when was your birthday? Mine was last week but I did not get a scavenger hunt or a bundt cake. Got some well wishes though, and can't knock that.

Mine was Nov 6 so a ways back but the first this friend and I could get it together after it. I'm glad you got well wishes too...that's right, it's all good. :) And another Happy Birthday from me!

Day 13 of Jodi Arias Trial: Defense dismissal motion on tap

"...The second witness, computer forensic expert Bryan Neumeister, said he found 70,000 modified files on the laptop that previous experts didn't catch. He said he found traces of searches for 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, calling the search terms vile, and that he discovered the laptop had been turned on and off twice since Alexander's death, which he said is against forensic protocol.

Martinez is now asking for the clones Neumeister made of the laptop's hard drive..."

Not sure, he doesn't list it in his many other pats on the backs, and he is the one that "cleaned up" Travis's voice on the sex tape. OH he was also the Jodi in Travis's eye expert, and has been laughed at by his peers.

The killer has lost any somewhat attractive look that she ever had. She is ugly inside and out.

Okay - late to game again - but have a few comments on the Twitters post... snipped by me! :)

can't WAIT to see this after the verdict when they release the tapes!! :happydance:

I started wearing glasses in the 2nd grade - then when contacts were new in 1964, I got those, but unfortunately, I had to have cryosurgery on my retinas, as they were tear and getting holes, so no more contacts... :blowkiss: It will be okay Bernina!!

but... didn't she just say she had no technical knowledge, but can say what a writer blocker is?? :waitasec:

Too late to tell you to do all your stuff tomorrow (today)!! MORE rain Saturday!! (love YESorNO's rain picture!! )

and a BIG :gthanks: to Bernina, Spellbound and Rhozwen for posting the Tweets!!

and I'm sitting reading the posts and trying to type thru tears... :tears: :tears: :tears:
as we had to put down Emma about an hour ago. She was missing most of the day this morning and when she came to the door, it looks like the cancer in her leg had made a HUGE hole thru her leg and we knew it was time... :tears: :( She has crossed the Rainbow Bridge...

okay - will try and get back to reading the rest of this thread!

:seeya:

Oh Niner, I'm so sorry about your Emma. We lost our precious 'baby' dog a few years ago, it took me a very long time to get over it. I still today cry for him if I let myself think about it. It's just devastating. They are not only our family members, but, imo, angels from Heaven. Crying with you

Is it possible he has had an axe to grind with Martinez since his "Jodi in the eye" expert opinion? Maybe he believed JM to be responsible for him looking like a fool.

... in particular "The Burning Court."

That made me think of Mary Karr. She wrote Little Liars, Mary Karr , Cherry, and many others. We have a neighbor that is just like Mary's mother, mans trousers, man's white shirt, a wide belt and bright red lipstick, and wears her hair in a french twist or a turban and has cats eyes eyeglasses, and still drives an old 1960 Old's Tornado convertible.

Thinking he may be the type that develops a vendetta against those he feels who have 'laughed' at him. At this point I have to question his credibility.

So sorry to hear you're homebound, hope everything's ok, Spycraft. I'm with you, I only read 'real books', no kindle, etc. for me. Old fashioned ? So be it. Let me know if I can send you some books, I have book shelves overflowing.

You're mighty sweet. Thank you for your kind words!

Lol... Space heaters? Do cats count?

Cats count.

I have a 15-pounder that sprawls out on my lap and I have to try to type on the laptop over/around him. If Ransom posts, cat goes all squeaky at the chicken dance avatar. It's too funny.

I know it's the internet and all and anonymity and safety and all of that BUT I'm just putting it out there that I'm pretty much 1000% sure there are posters on here who would love to send you books (and other little care package stuff we can share ) during you convalescence Spycraft if you'd like to share an address privately or something. If not, I completely understand but I'm just putting it out there anyway. We could be a little collective amazon.com but without the paying part. I know I probably have at least 10 books or more that would be happy to find new homes and other little goodies I'd be happy to send your way. You could let me know privately as well if you have an address you'd be comfortable sharing.

PS I say this because during the Arias trial I did share my address wtih many posters who sent lots of things for the Alexanders which I hand carried to them in court (and many nice things for me too). So I'm more liberal than most with the address thing but it proved to be totally safe and ok for me.

KCL, I'm pretty much overcome with emotion right now. What a kind, generous, thoughtful offer! Admittedly it's difficult being away from where I consider my home. I resigned my teaching position and moved here to provide full time care to my parents whose greatest hope in their nineties was to remain in their own home. Unfortunately, Mom developed Alzheimer's and by the time I had made the permanent move here she was in need of 24/7 care and my dad's health had deteriorated from neglect as he worried and tried his best to care for mom. Leaving my home of 20 years, my colleagues, my students, my friends, my place of safety and comfort was difficult, but the actual decision to move was not a difficult one. It was an honor, albeit the most challenging honor, to take care of mom and dad and be able to help them so that they could celebrate a few more Christmases, birthdays, and Thanksgivings.

Anyone who has been a caregiver knows that it is a full time job, and especially living in a town where all my friends were in their 90's like my parents, respite care was nonexistent. I lost touch with so many people, had to turn down invitations, travels, even simple weekend trips because it was not possible to leave my mother alone for 15 minutes, much less a day! I was in my early 50's, my friends from home were enjoying their grandchildren, traveling, moving on in their lives. With more time on their hands it became a nuisance, I believe, to try to accommodate me into any plans because I had none. I was definitely the non-fun friend!

I just turned 60 on the 4th and realized just how alone I still feel over here and with my folks gone, and most of my other friends in their nineties, it's a sobering thought. Ah well, enough of what surely sounds like a pity party for one! I will message you with my address, but I expect nothing from you! I offer my address more than willingly and with great ease and trust because I followed the forums (as a non member) during the trial and read how much you did for the Alexanders and how much you shared of your time and life to help them in so many ways. Thank you again. Your words of kindness touched me greatly and were appreciated.!

It seems pretty obvious doesn't it? I thought someone said yesterday (probably in tweets) that he used to be hired by one side or the other but that since his "eye" fantasy nobody on the prosecution side will give him the time of day.

What a contentious and intense court hearing! I’m sure I am not alone in experiencing significant spikes in blood pressure, and a rabid like desperation to keep up with tweets. BTW, a huge thank you to all who compile tweets for us. I hope you know how appreciated you are!

Now for a brief OT: I recently found out I will be housebound for several weeks, unfortunately spoiling holiday plans as well as generally contributing to the insanity of forced and solitary recuperation.

I am reaching out to anyone who could give me some great reading suggestions. I must have books. If I am to survive this confinement, I must have books! I loved Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, Michael Connelly books, Jodi Picoult. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I don’t even have a day to go library “shopping” so Amazon it is. (I have Amazon all queued up, ready to accept an overburdened credit card.) I have tried unsuccessfully to read from kindle or a tablet, so old fashioned books it must be. Thanks in advance!

Here's something a little different if you think Russian and American (and Russian vs American) submarine stories might be appealing. I thought it was quite interesting. I graduated high school with one of the authors, so I might be biased.
http://www.amazon.com/Blind-Mans-Bluff-Submarine-Espionage/dp/006097771X/

Here's another off-beat one, though perhaps more appealing to me because I was born and raised in New Orleans. The story behind the book is amazing too.
http://www.amazon.com/Confederacy-Dunces-John-Kennedy-Toole/dp/0802130208/

Lastly, here is another one with a New Orleans flavor. Forget whatever Oliver Stone butchered up from here to make "JFK" - this is the original book. Even though I was a kid at the time, it was obvious that Jim Garrison was on to something - there were far too many "coincidences" happening for him not to have rattled some of the wrong cages.

Spycraft, wow, your story of what you did for your parents is very touching and beautiful. You must be truly one of those angels on earth. I know you are not looking for any type of praise for your huge unselfish gift to your parents and that you feel blessed for being able to allow them to have their last days to be in their earthly home. I feel that I have gotten to know posters on this web site to be honorable and trustworthy who desire to reach out by providing you something they are willing to share. Take care and a speedy recovery.

Thank you to those who recommended books and authors. I plan on checking those out.

Special thank you to those who provide us with all those court tweets.

KCL, you are super! I wanted to offer the same thing, but hesitated to ask about anyone's home address. I am more than willing to send books, too! I have way too many to hang onto, but can't bear to think they may end up in some storage room of a used book store or end up discarded.

Spycraft, I sent a PM about the type of books I have.
