Jumping off your post - it has the article.
:truce:
I know feelings many have for the judge are, let's say less than favorable.
But this article (IMO) is just a trash rehash of the judges reputation with a tidbit of habit that has never been discussed here.
I personally do not care for this article - not shooting the messenger (YESorNO:seeyathanks for posting.
But to give the devil some doubt - we have not heard half of this retrial sentencing phase.
We probably only heard about one fourth, due to all the secrecy - maybe, just MAYBE, JSS has some valid points???
Maybe hands are tied and due process has to play out.
Our system does favor the defendant and in this case it happens to be Jodi.
But what IF, the defendant happens to be an innocent person (not this case, another example) - we would be loving how our system operates.
The trouble with our system is that too many defendants happen to be guilty, and they get the benefits that an innocent person should receive.
My rant is over - it's just my opinion, yeah, it's taking an extra long time, and I do think JSS could help move it along,
but I think the article is a bit unfair with their accusations.
Wasn't the unsealing/remain sealing of the secret testimony argument to be held on Thursday at 9/9:30????
So nothing tomorrow, but 2 different items on Thursday?
Then a three day break until next week?
Did the SC rule?

Sandra Weber gave me the "LOL........shhhhhh!" like I ran away from her and Rob's comments:laughing:. Like I DO have a life other than being a "keyboard warrior". Seriously, I have a finely tuned scheduling process, fer realz! WS's get's it's blocks of tweets AFTER morning chores, workouts at noon recess, and the only thing that has been pushed back is the 4:00 feed schedule........the critters will survive!
Went to drop a box off at the post office, a 15 minute round trip became a 35 minute mud/ice bogger's delight from he11!!!! Talk about slippin' and slidin', and I've got some beefy 33" mud and snow tires on the 4 x 4!!!
Court? Thursday at 10:30? Anything on the 4:00 meeting that was today?
BBM according to the Waller Test, she doesn't have to show proof/actual harm:
-from my post #557:
"C. The Waller Test
In 1984, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the broad
courtroom closure of a seven-day suppression hearing during a
criminal trial was unconstitutional. 37 Waller v. Georgia synthesized
prior holdings to provide a clear rule for all alleged First and Sixth
Amendment public trial violations. 38 Writing for the majority in
Waller v. Georgia, Justice Powell outlined the current four-part test. 39
He held that
the party seeking to close the hearing must [1] advance
an overriding interest that is likely to be prejudiced,
[2] the closure must be no broader than necessary to
protect that interest, [3] the trial court must consider
reasonable alternatives to closing the proceeding, and
[4] it must make findings adequate to support the
closure. 40
The Court held that a violation of the public trial guarantee does
not necessarily require a new trial. 41 Rather, the remedy should be
appropriate to the violation.
42 The Court reasoned that automatic
reversal would give defendants unfair windfalls that would not be in
the public interest, 43 but reiterated that the defendant does not
need to show actual harm. 44..."

Is Lonnie Dworkin Sue who's a SAM (Secret Agent Man) :crosseyed:
Who is Sue?
Sue D. Nihm the secret interview of the computer expert from the defense's group of expert non expert boss BN who claimed to do the work he didn't do.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh- pseudonym!!!! :floorlaugh:
Who thought of that gem?
I don't know if Mr. Dworkin is Sue :dunno: I'm so confused :scared:
I just asked that question of Arizona Lawyer on the resentencing thread today. She said judges are appointed after a thorough review but to stay in office past their term, they must be reelected. And yes, JSS runs for reelection in 2016.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh- pseudonym!!!! :floorlaugh:

I don't know if Mr. Dworkin is Sue :dunno:- just guessing? I'm so confused :scared:
