Didn't he pass away not long after he gave this speech?

Yes, he knew he was dying at the time he gave the speech. He was battling a terminal cancer.

I remember now that's right. Made me think of ESPN's Stuart Scott...very similar awesome speech at the ESPY Awards...and he died only a few weeks ago. I'm going to save this one...its really inspiring

atthelake, I could not find the answer to whether your GN's problems will be a life-long concern. Do you know? Prayers that today goes well for him.

Snow to shovel this morning so I can get to the vet for prescription food for my oldest dog. I should be done in time with chores to be here for any trial happenings..... if nothing gets postponed again.

BBM

Spellbound, don't know yet. The eyes are a concern as they are affected too. Quickly after diagnosis they put some sort of protective lens on, which are made out of human placenta. There already was scarring but hopefully those prevented further scarring of the cornea and will aid in the long run. Other folks with SJS have had long term concerns, but it's a wait and see as he is still in medically induced coma. They began unwrapping parts of him yesterday (he's been wrapped all over except groin and his face peeking out) Hopefully he's purely in the recovery stages now. He's now being weaned from the paralytic agents and hopefully today or tomorrow he will come off the ventilator.

ETA: He is off the ventilator now! Whoop Whoop!

lol, I was trying to do a countdown clock to the release of the transcripts, but I cannot seem to make it work. I'm such a luddite!

ETA: Ohhh, I think it does work when you click on it! 4 hours and 25 minutes to all of us

Aw, ATL :therethere" You have been through so much. I hope my prayers will make a little difference in your GN's recovery. I can only imagine how I would be as the parent or grandparent. I hope the little guy is a fighter and a laugher. He may need those skills.

I don't understand that if my speakers are on high, sometimes it blares so loud I have to turn it down. But MOST of the time I can barely hear them on high. I can hardly hear the speech above by Jimmy Valvano! I want to listen, but it's too low.
Does anyone know why? I am on a desktop computer, if that helps. The speaker icon on the bottom of my computer is on 99%. Can any of you computer whiz's help me out? TIA~

There is usually another sound controller on UTUBE itself on the left below the screen part. See if you can turn up UTUBES volume control too. There is a slide bar part. It is near where you can hit a buttom to STOP the video

Dmacky, I'm a luddite but I finally got a little $19 bluetooth speaker from Bed Bath and Beyond. It has helped tremendously as some feeds are so poor on my laptop (e.g. Oscar Pistorius trial feed) with the added benefit I can take that miniature little speaker around the house with me. The wifi speaker could also be hooked up to earbuds if I desired. That little speaker also comes in handy listening to books on tape, that I have downloaded into my smartphone, while driving.

FWIW

I had posted this on retrial thread but wanted to share here.

I finally figured out who Juan Martinez reminds me of.

The late great basketball coach Jimmy Valvano. He was such an inspiration. If you get a chance, watch this speech if you want to get hope back in your life. He was battling cancer at the time, and ultimately lost his battle.

https://video.search.yahoo.com/vide...:s,v:v,m:sa&hsimp=yhs-001&hspart=mozilla&tt=b

I watched this video and the video at Reynolds Coliseum where Jimmy V was honored during the 10-year anniversary celebration of the 1983 national championship. NC State fans have always loved Valvano. He was a great coach and quite a character. In addition to the Rutgers story, he tells about being told to go to Greenville to give his first speech as the NC State basketball coach. He says he went to Greenville, South Carolina, and raised $32,000 at the airport. He didn't realize that there was a Greenville, NC. Then a story comes out that one of his players, Charles Shackleford, said that he was "amphibious"--that he could shoot with both hands. I would bet the Greenville story was made up by Valvano. To this day, some fans of other teams give Wolfpack fans a hard time about the Shackleford story. I think Jimmy V made that up, too. I'm proud to be a Wolfpack fan!

Thanks ATT, I would never even have thought of that. I've always thought of Bluetooth as some kind of a mouth disease

Morning, Peeps!

Just waiting for the defense to claim the interrogation tape from CMJA's arrest was "doctored" and she was never read her rights..........and the sighting of CMJA's doppelganger renews her first version that CMJA was never in Mesa.

Good Morning all. Thanks for the nice calendar DaisyD. I also see that you found your toaster - have you cleaned it yet???

Raining again in Redneckville.

Impatiently waiting for the transcripts.
Have a nice day!!!

There are 2 stenographers involved in the transcript. Transcripts from one of them will be release today, 144 pages. The other stenographer will be charging a separate fee, # of pages and release unknown.

Fees are said to be around $1000.

Info from BK's site at around 7:00 pm yesterday. (NOT copied/pasted)
Don't know if anything concrete has been posted from other sources...........

Like I said before, 144 pages with JA's detailing embellishments and KN's
h o w * d i d * t h a t * m a k e * y o u * f e e l's * there could be no more than 10 minutes of her actual testimony. She's pizzed because she didn't get into the really good super sized lies that will now be made public.

I'm surprised Arizona didn't experience what they perceived as a small earthquake on Jan. 8th(?) after the Supreme Court announced no can do Jodi Ann. When actually it was JA stomping in her cell throwing a super sized tantrum.

*I thought it was 400 pages ? Maybe that's the 2nd batch
