Love 'Queen', but had a cd I wasn't too fond of because it was a live concert with bad acoustics. I threw it out on a table in case anyone wanted it. My teenaged nephew was SOOOO impressed that I (an old lady) listened to 'Queen'.

Golden oldies.

omg, sorry to jump of your post with more of my own idiocy but this reminded me of another stellar example. Not only did I not "get" the meaning of the Doobie Bros. until I was in my 30's, I also never could figure out why Queen was called Queen. I concluded it had something to do with them being British. Even though I had every one of their albums and had, obviously, seen THEM. Holy schnikey. You'd think I grew up in a convent.

Love me some TTD too, Viv.

Though not the same really at all, it reminds me of Simply Red.

Thanks so much for posting this song, Chester! What a great song, what a great group - again, what the heck happened to them???

You made me think of this guy, who got a lot of flack (including from me - we'd call him "Rick Ghastly") but he really has a great voice. I think it had to do with his voice not matching his look:

Whenever we were in the car we played Name that tune with the kids and we only played 50's 60's and 70's, some 80's. Kids always amaze their friends with their old school knowledge. Visited older son in NJ and got to play Rock Band for the first time...his friends were stunned that I knew all the words to everything.

Its after 5 in Nova Scotia:floorlaugh:
(Shout out to my Basilcat...)

"wine wrack" haha...that's what I call mine, too. It's apt :)

eta: I messed up the quote, but someone up there said "wine wrack"!

Phew.. All caught up
My first 45 was Crystal Blue Persuasion
My favorite sports car ever was the Mazda RX7, but by the time I could afford one they stopped making them. Then, in my 40's I had a midlife crisis and bought a black, top of the line, leather interior, etc, RX8. Lol, all the teen boys would turn and look when I drove by. there is nothing like a rotary engine. nothing. You just don't know what it is like to drive a stick with a redline of 10000 RPMs... And a car with a computer keeping the rear end in line that can do a 360 degree turn ramp at 75 miles an hour....
But now I have a Murano... It's boring. I'm a gettin old.
But my favorite music group currently is Modest Mouse, so at least I'm keeping up, musically!

Oh, and b4 I forget. I only got 2 speeding tickets in my life, neither in the RX8, both were in my little Honda Civic put-put. It was RED.

Still trying in vain to catch up on these threads...

A few things-

1) Someone posted about making Crockpot Coconut Spicy Wings (probably TexMex). Is that recipe here on the recipe thread? If not would you mind sharing it? I love ALL things coconut!

2) You all have adorable pets. But one just nabbed my heart.
JustJudy, what kind of dog is your Pluto? He is too cute for words.
I always wanted a Boston Terrier but I may be swayed to get a pup like yours some day.

3) It has actually been a somewhat CMJA free weekend, was nice to give the brain a break from all things evil. And the pup posts made me think of Travis and his Napoleon, so that was a good thing.

Last but far from least-

4) Rosemary Pierce, I am looking forward to one day seeing you post that Kyle is home and feeling better. Whenever I see your name and posts my heart just breaks for you and your family. I know how hard this has to be for you.
I am not a praying person, I prefer to send good vibes and thoughts, so just know that every day I think about Kyle, You, and your family and wish for better things. Stay Strong.

Thanks All, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Haha...I am the baby of the family....everyone in my family will tell you sarcastically that I am the sweet, innocent one.....:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

:floorlaugh: I had you figured for trouble from the start.

Several years ago my son and I were driving from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon listening to his latest playlist. He, of course, had always criticized my taste in music, but by this time, he had "discovered" Dylan and Neil Young.
When "These Days" by Nico came up, he about drove off the highway when I informed him that Jackson Browne wrote that tune for Nico when he was sixteen.
Jackson is my all-time favorite, and my first and always crush.
