Good morning Rose
Unfortunately I don't know anything other than CL has another court date
below:
03/05/2015 8:30 AM DEPT. M2 PRELIMINARY HEARING - Minutes ACTIVE
03/04/2015 8:30 AM DEPT. M2 PRE-PRELIMINARY CONFERENCE

I'm thinking they may be getting close to a trial date since this is the first time that the media has requested to be there in court since he was arrested in August.

MEDIA REQUEST RECEIVED.
01/05/2015 JUDGE CORTEZ DENIES KCDZ FM MEDIA REQUEST

This case has really tugged at my heartstrings. I'm happy to see you will be there with me as well as Bernina and Kensie. I'm glad we have a member of Erin's family there, but it has to be really hard for her to hear some of the things that have been said about her loved one. Erin was only 19, and I remember how naïve and gullible I was at that age!

I check that thread from time to time..........so the media request was denied for a radio station?

I'm wondering if that trial is going to go all sideways into the victim bashing. :gaah:"Relevance" has kinda lost it's meaning.

I feel the same way Spell. The thing that bothers me so much is all the new crap JA has brought up, and she is still playing the victim. If she gets LWOP, all of this rehashing and trashing of Travis will have been for nothing. In hindsight, I think we all wish she would have just been sentenced in 2013. As time has gone on she's been able to get more crazy supporters, and more time to sell her tracings art. She needs to be in Perryville as soon as possible. I also feel that the verdict will be split again, and I just hate that she was given another chance for "the Jodi show." She is a manipulative LIAR and evil to the bone.

My heart aches for the Alexander family

That is the only thing that will bother me if she does not get DO ---- what a waste of time and $$$ this has been.

Curiosity makes me wonder how well a BPD does in prison?

How would the felon get along with ther inmates? I can see her manipulating some inmates, but I also can see other inmates not putting up with her. The felon will come into the jail thinking she is top dog. In the long run, I think she may not like the ending of her story. And I am sure she realizes that the trial end is near and no matter what she is on her way to prison.

I don't think BPD of CMJA's extent does well at all. But.........

Any delusions of what you may think you were, in her case, "professional photographer", "artist extraordinaire", means absolutely nothing. Her experience in waitressing and restaurant work will get her a job in the mess hall. Her high opinion of herself is going to be beat down pretty quickly.
She's going to be a new fish. She has no street cred, she has no associations, her crime is nothing significant or "noteworthy" in the whole criminal scheme of things, and her jacket says she has a psych issue. She wants attention and talks way too much. "Loose lips sink ships". Will throw anyone under the bus if it suits her. Lies like a rug. She's not pretty. She's not young enough to mold into what another inmate may want to control, and not old enough to ignore. She's bi-racial. She's from California. And she doesn't take credit for what she did. Her "Appellate Trust Fund" is going to be a target for extortion. And let's just throw in that her victim's sister and brother-in-law was/is in LE for grins and giggles.

Her BPD is the least of her "issues". The gals in Perryville aren't naive.

Thanks Dmacky. :seeya: Such a tragedy.

Rest in peace, sweet Erin Corwin.

I don't think that most women like JA, or at least that seems the case given the people we've encountered with this trial. They might at first but seem to quickly realize that something's not right. In prison, I don't think that another inmate will reason out that she's got BPD, is "mentally ill," or cut her any slack. She might have a few friends at first if she can convince them that she valiantly stood up to "her abuser." It won't last long. She absolutely refuses to admit any mistake on her part, however trivial it may be. That gets old REAL fast for anyone around her. Her smug smile and air of condescension won't help her win anyone over either.

I've never had an issue with her getting LWOP instead of the DP. I honestly think it will be much worse for her than being on Death Row. Her ONE appeal will go no where and that will be all. She'll fade into obscurity, which I think is her worst nightmare. The only reasons I've wanted her to get the DP are because 1) it appears to be what this victim's family think will bring them closure (I don't think it will, sadly) and 2) legally I feel it's warranted. To me she fits the criteria for it easily. While I'm not a fan of the death penalty, I truly feel that the only reason she didn't already get it is because she's female and young. She's earned it with her premeditation and cruelty and she deserves it, even though I think it will drag things on for years to come if she gets it.

*ETA: Has anyone else ever thought that she might want to get the DP now? I do. The extra layers of appeal available, the added support of anti-DP groups, the years of added imagined martyrdom...I don't think she's even really thought about the conditions on Death Row. I dunno. It's silly I guess.

I'm watching The Bad Seed now too! It's just stunning how it really seems like JA . Especially when she tells her mom that it was the boys fault...she just had to do it since he wouldn't give her the medal. Interesting too, given what we know about how JA was the grammar police in her family, how well spoken and articulate the little Rhoda was.
In the end, her arrogance got her good:).

The 13th juror writes as if he can read the minds of the jurors, he can't. He doesn't know the life experiences and knowledge these jurors have. I read his thoughts but wish he would stick to him being the 13th juror. Sometimes he gets on my last nerve. JMOO
He make some mistakes but I like him very much. He doesn't try to read their minds. He is just voicing an opinion fom someone who has beeninpain jury duty in a DP case. He is very fair and I liked that he thought Wilmott did a good job with Dworkin. I do not like Wilmott at all but I agreewith Sanders and as far as the jury decision, I think it's up for grabs right now, as much as we hate to believe that.

And you forgot...... she doesn't make friends with women. It might be the punishment she deserves, after all.

Bernina, how is your foot? Terribly sore?

Excellent post!

BBM

I, too, believe LWOP will be much worse than getting the DP! If the family did not want it so badly, I would be quite happy for that decision. I can foresee her trying to be the "boss" --- that should go over like a lead balloon. Whatever the decision, I hope she is completely unhappy.

I've watched The Bad Seed dozens of times. I would love to see JA go out in a blaze of glory just like Rhoda.
