Another Good Morning all!!

And I have to say :gaah: :gaah: the 200 posts per page are gone (again!) - now it's down to 25 per page!! :gaah: :banghead: So, now instead of 5 pages, it comes 28. Yikes!! I guess I'll just have to get used to it!

Lambchop - :lamb: I hope you'll be back, even though you have "retired"!! If you don't, we will miss you BIG time!!

Clutter - I have my Huz go through all my stuff, and he throws away the stuff he thinks I don't need. I don't look to see what it is, as I haven't looked at it for at least 4 to 5 years... So, I won't miss something I don't know was there.

Nore - prayers coming for your kitty! :praying: he/she is too young to cross the Rainbow Bridge, Lord!!

We have Rain!!! Supposed to be thunder showers later this afternoon - my Huz loves to watch the lightning!! :shocked2: I stay inside! :nerves:

Okay - off to Verdict watch for the Boston bomber...

:seeya:

Does anyone here have a problem with clutter like I do ? Well, I'm in the mood to de-clutter, but I always have a hard time deciding exactly what to get rid of, and where to even start, it's so overwhelming. We just have way too much stuff ! I love this website so am going to depend on it to help me get started.

http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/flying-lessons/decluttering-15-minutes/

I have a system:
1. Have I used this "thing" in the last year? (hedge on tossing it) And will I EVER use it again? (OUT)
2. " " " " 2 years? (OUT)
3. If I say "WTH is this?"........(OUT)
4. If it's something my kids "left", they either pick it up, ASAP, or it disappears.
5. Does it bring joy to my life? (yes/stays, no/ditch it)
6. 2 of something is ok, but 12 isn't. (REDUCTION BIG TIME)
7. Seriously, is this EVER going to be fixed? (TRASH)

The current bane of my existence is a busted generator, a tore apart Triumph motorcycle, and an in-operable quad (4 wheeler) that BF has said he's going to "fix". I've been hearing this for 4 years plus (the motorcycle for 7!). My current musings is run them over with the tractor, light a match to them, do some target practice, or dump them on Craiglist when BF goes on a gold hunting trip.

I have been de-cluttering for a few years now and do it every Spring along with my spring cleaning. It's hard to get rid of the things you love, IMO, but I think it's important, to me, not to leave this job to my children when I'm gone.

I don't like clutter as if confuses me and I don't need anymore confusion in my life as I'm confused enough in my old dotage. :scared: :floorlaugh:

It's surprising how acquiring the things you like to eventually become clutter after the years go by and it's so hard to whittle all the items down to some semblance of some kind of organization. :(

Good luck to you. :loveyou:

ETA: I should be doing my spring cleaning today, but I'm sitting on Twitter for the Boston Bombing verdict watch- did I say I hate verdict watch? :(

I am with you Neesaki as I need to de clutter big time. I hate to throw things out and get rid of things as I always think at the time I might need it someday. I am beyond the point of ridiculousness.

Thanks Bernina and YoNo for the advice. The rules are really good and the thought of leaving my mess to my children really bothers me. It is just so overwhelming. Where do you start?

I am starting the clearing out process again. We downsized quite a bit awhile ago, but I've let things slide the last few years. We'll be moving in a couple of years and I want to be ready. The lists and thoughts from poster friends are very helpful.
Maybe we could encourage one another as we work on this. Where I'm starting: Upstairs, in the spare room. It's not so spare. Ha! Wish me luck!! :)

I just got a call from my equine breeding vet. The Thoroughbred mare I bred for a foal in 3 weeks is aborting the foal, who died in utero. This is the second foal I have lost, and the mare is going to have to be put down as the head is stuck under her pelvic bone. OMG, this is awful and I don't know if I made the right decision not to have the mare taken to the equine hospital and pay for surgery to extract the dead foal. The mare is arthritic due to a track injury and a really hard keeper as she gimps, cribs and doesn't keep weight on.

My daughter is with the vet and I am really worried she won't forgive me. I am really distraught.

Have you taken him to the vet? Does it look like Parvo? How old is he?
Not enough information..........
Hope he pulls through!

Bernina, yes he was to the Vet last week. He has all his shots, blood work is fine, Trying to eat a bit this afternoon of all things baloney!! I know but it is all he will eat. little bits. Dr. did mircroscope on stool , no blood, no worms etc.. Bernina honest I look in his eyes and I know what he wants. He understands English because I talk to him all day. Ground up another baked Cornish hen for him , I try. He is just lying around. He is weak. A week without measurable food~ I know the feeling. Thanks so much ..PS. Buffy is about 10 but very "alive" when well.

Oh Zuri I am so sorry..please let me know, You and Horse are in my thoughts. You thought you were doing your best.
We just don't know..((hugs)).

Oh god, Zuri, this is too much! Is it EHV again? Can't the vet induce labor in the mare and manipulate the foal's head out of the pelvis? Or has it gone the route of peritonitis?

Aside that, I think you made the right call. I hope your daughter understands. Real tough, so many variables factor in to that kind of decision, but I'd be doing the same thing.

Nor,, Buffy is a cat, right? About three months ago wee were sure we were losing our 15 year old, cat. She would not eat or drink, we did not see her potty, she just laid in one place all day. She never was one for canned food, but I was desperate. I put a teaspoon of mushy soft can food in a little bowl with @ 1/2 cup ofwarm water.... she started lapping the juice and ate small bits of the food. After about three days she started prancing sbout the house as proud as can be. She has chosen the fluffy cat bed as her perch (she would never be caught in it before). She is now spoiled and cries for her warm wet food. She nibbles on dry food, but laps up the juice of the mix every day.

Maybe be you can try putting any soft food with warm water to make a juice and she will try it? Thinking of you and hoping your Buffy gets better. I know how worried we were.

How about canned tuna? Strained meat baby food?
Just keep him hydrated, if he doesn't drink, use a baby syringe and put a couple of CC's in him every half hour even if he spits most of it out. Unflavored children's Pedialyte works really good.

I just got a text that they sedated the mare and just got the foal out. His head was stuck under her pelvis. He died 1-2 days ago in utero. I bet it is EHV1 as the farm owner where she used to be, also lost a foal. I don't know what that necropsy showed. I have not heard about the condition of Amelia, the mare. The vet has been pulling for over an hour, and I have no idea whether her uterus is still intact. There is a chance she could bleed internally if there was a tear. I am just over this disappointment already. This totally sucks.

The foal dying 24-48 hours ago, it started to decompose inside her uterus, gah, antibiotic uterine lavages if she hasn't already got blood poisoning. And then there's whether the after birth is intact, or if it started to decompose.
Did he say whether she was running a temp?
This is so weird happening to both mares, and to the other farm owner, the prenatal EHV vaccinations usually let the mare carry full term, unless they were just given the 5,7,and 9 month shots for EHV-1 and not the EHV-1 & 4 which is given 4-6 weeks before due date.
Did you have a "GLF" with your stud contract?

Zuri, this is so sad. I am very sorry.

My daughter just texted me a pic of the dead colt. He looked exactly like his sire. Perfectly formed, dark bay with a white star and 3 white socks. I am not cut out for this.

The attached link/pic is a pic of the sire for reference. I am devestated.

Oh Zuri - so sorry hear about the colt!

Gin - Good Luck! Yes, we too started cleaning out the garage and underneath the house when we were thinking of moving to Latvia. So got rid of a LOT of stuff - most to Goodwill.

Okay - I finally found out what time I have to be here on Monday the 13th - 8:30am my time (Pacific). I sure hope it doesn't go all day, as I have a massage scheduled that day... hmmm... maybe I should postpone that to another day? :waitasec:

See you tomorrow! Signing off... :pcguru:

Two years ago, I set about trying to find a way to let the Alexander family and the PT know that we here at WS cared. KCL helped facilitate getting those gifts from us to the Alexanders and The PT. Through corresponding with KCL, we became friends. Today, my DH and I had lunch with KCL and her fiancé, John and had the best time. She is as warm and lovely in person as she is through her pics. Her fiancé is super nice and kind and I love how he loves her.

I think another name for WS could be Friend.com, as that is how I feel about all of you. We have formed a really special bond here and I just wanted you all to know how much you all mean to me. Xo

ETA: Isn't Allie just a lovely young woman. She has eyes like Travis and I'm glad we could touch her heart.

The legacy of Travis Victor Alexander lives on in the so many lives that he has touched even in death. There have been some good friendships that have been found and that will endure. As Tara Kelley, Juror #17 in the first trial, recently tweeted that she can't thank Travis enough for bringing such amazing people into her life. The trial was very long and even though we were upset at the travesty, I do think there were so many positives that came out of all the negatives. I so agree that the bonds of friendships have been formed and even if we never have a physical meeting, we do have the cyber bonds of friendship connectivity. Thank you to all of you who have shared your journeys.
