Hey everyone, its sooooo humid here. I sure hope the evil one is suffering as much if not more than me! I HATE humidity. BUT on the positive side at least I’m stuck in a cage!!! YAY! I tried those potty pads with my Miss Molly, didn’t work. Yeah my thanks button is being goofy too. I’d like to add my thanks also to all the posts :-) I just read over on that Florida thread that jb is teaching at Harvard. That is so scary. To think jb is teaching future attorneys his style. Very sad for our justice system.

BBM Doggie treats? What kind?

Most days I'm very busy, but I can't tell you, with what.
The days just fly by and I'm busy-busy with a little-of-this and a little-of-that. :floorlaugh:

Earlier this Spring, it was Spring cleaning. Now it's trying to finish my gardening chores before the Summer heat starts. So far, the weather
has been unseasonably cool and it's been very pleasant to work in the garden. When the Summer heat starts, I plan on being a lady
of leisure (of course, everyday I'm a lady of leisure since I retired ) and spend my days in the A/C reading some books, doing
my puzzles, and just generally being a lazy bum. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:
Ahhhh- this is the life. :)

Its that way with me too, at the end of the day I'm not sure exactly what I did
:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

Its already gotten too hot to work outside here, we came home from our vacation to sweltering heat and humidity. :gaah:

The male southern pudu fawn, the world's smallest deer species, was born May 12 at the Queens Zoo. Southern pudus tend to be around a foot tall at the shoulder. How adorable! It's so tiny! :happydance: Thanks for all the informative and entertaining posts YorN. :loveyou:

That tiny deer is incredible!

Nore, does your Molly have to be on a leash to go outside? Will she stay by the door to potty and come back in quickly? Maybe you will figure out a tolerable way for her before winter comes again. Maybe she will suddenly grow UP BIG?! Good luck working this one out. (Maybe you can teach her to use a kitty litter box? Never heard of anyone doing it, but there is always a first)

Hi Nore,

(and everyone else too :) )

I meant to post weeks ago about your puppy's "problem" with going to the bathroom outside but with 2 jobs I barely get by here to read - and I usually fall asleep while catching up, lol. Anyhoo, the way I've always house-trained my dogs is kinda odd, but always works. Don't laugh! Or do, as it is funny, but give it a try.

OK, you know how when you wake up & you have the urge to pee, if you press on your lower belly it makes the urge worse? :blushing: I'd take my pups out after every nap, every meal & every play time and press on their belly (back by their hind legs) and say, "Go pee!" You can use whatever word you want if pee isn't to your liking! Only takes a few days or so, although since yours is now used to not going outside much it may take a couple of weeks or so. Also, at night you should crate her or put her in a cardboard box with high sides; dogs instinctively won't go where they sleep, but it must be a small space - not much bigger than her in size. If you're inside & notice her sniffing the floor or starting to squat, say "Out!" louder than your usual voice level & immediately swoop down to gather her up and take her outside, then do the belly squeeze & the saying. She'll catch on quickly. Lots of praise, of course, when she does the right thing. Before long you should have a house-trained puppy....and clean floors, lol.

PS - No water after about 8pm will also help her be more comfortable thru the night...

PPS - Never yell at your puppy while training them. It tends to scare them & many will "let go" when scared, so you've defeated your purpose... "Out!" is a sound that sounds like something the mommy dog says to her pups when she's displeased with them & it does catch their attention. I've never found it to help the situation at all to rub the dog's nose in their mess, either. Their attention span at that age is so short that they have no idea why you're forcing their face into pee/poop! I'm sure it's rather unpleasant & they wonder why is my new mom doing this to me? Wah!!

Itsy, that is a very good puppy training plan. I need to remember that .... though at my age, these could be our last puppies. But I never say never.

Attorney: Sledgehammer Could Be Key in McStay Killings

Charles Merritt is accused of killing the McStay family of Fallbrook, and his preliminary hearing is set to begin on June 15

"...After much delay, Merritt’s preliminary trial is set to begin Monday in San Bernardino.

There, Mettias said prosecutors will likely argue that his client bludgeoned the victims to death with a sledgehammer inside their Fallbrook home before dumping their bodies in a very remote desert location in Victorville, Calif....

After Merritt’s preliminary trial occurs, a judge will decide if there’s enough evidence to send Merritt to trial."

Christopher Lee, Legendary Movie Villain and Horror Icon, Dies at 93

"Christopher Lee, the mystical British actor whose haunting, intimidating performances as Count Dracula, the Frankenstein monster and Fu Manchu made him an icon of horror films and the cinematic embodiment of villainy, has died. He was 93.

According to media reports, Lee died on Sunday morning, June 7 at Westminster Hospital in London after being admitted for respiratory problems and heart failure. The Guardian reported that his wife, former Danish model and painter Gitte Kroencke, decided to release the news days later in order to inform family members first. The couple had been married since 1961...."

Brief film taken before Earhart's last flight surfaces

"LOS ANGELES - It was a clear spring day in 1937 when Amelia Earhart, ready to make history by flying around the world, brought her personal photographer to a small Southern California airport to document the journey's beginning.

Al Bresnik took dozens of still photos, including a few that have likely been seen by millions. His brother John, who tagged along, made a very dark, grainy 3.5-minute home movie almost nobody saw - until now.

The film, "Amelia Earhart's Last Photo Shoot," is being released this month by The Paragon Agency publishing house, along with an 80-page book of the same name that documents a journey that ended tragically short of the finish line when Earhart's plane vanished somewhere over the Pacific Ocean..."
