An almost blind guy walked into a sexy lingerie shop to purchase their most see-through item for his wife.
After receiving some help from the store clerk, he bought a lace teddy for $600 and brought it home for his wife to try on.
She took it upstairs and realized that it didn't quite fit.
But, she figured, since it's supposed to be see-through and since he's almost blind, she might as well wear nothing at all.
So she came downstairs completely naked. "Huh," said the old man, hugging her.
"For the amount I paid, they could've at least ironed the damn thing."

Advices from An Old Farmer
Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.
Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.
Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
Words that soak into your ears are whispered… not yelled.
Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.
Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.
Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.
It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.
You cannot unsay a cruel word.
Every path has a few puddles.
When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.
The best sermons are lived, not preached.
Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.
Don’t judge folks by their relatives.
Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
Live a good, honorable life… Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.
Don ‘t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t bothering you none.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.
Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.
The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.
Always drink upstream from the herd.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.
Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back in.
If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around..
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
Most times, it just gets down to common sense.

That used to be one of my dreams, too. But having very long legs, I have (sadly) crossed that off my list. It would take me too long to recover from the flight. Unless, that is, I can somehow come up with the money to go First Class...

All of our trip is comfortable and paid for. Just bring mad money for the shops and your imagination. What do we need to stock the kitchen and bar with?

Solitary Confinement: Punished for Life

"...Sealed for years in a hermetic environment — one inmate likened the prison’s solitary confinement unit to “a weapons lab or a place for human experiments” — prisoners recounted struggling daily to maintain their sanity. They spoke of longing to catch sight of a tree or a bird. Many responded to their isolation by shutting down their emotions and withdrawing even further, shunning even the meager human conversation and company they were afforded..."

When the corpse flowers bloom, people flock

"A rotten stench has been wafting through a greenhouse at the Denver Botanic Gardens — and visitors are all too eager to breathe it in. Who knows if they’ll ever get a second chance?

The odiferous offender is a plant native to the Indonesian island of Sumatra and known commonly as the "corpse flower" — for reasons that are pungently apparent when it starts blooming. At that point, it becomes a botanical stink bomb, emitting a noisome odor evolved to attract certain beetles and flies, which unwittingly spread the plant’s pollen. All told, the blooming process can take about 36 hours and won't happen again for years — if ever..."

Body of woman, 25, stolen from casket in broad daylight in Texas

"A 25-year-old woman's body was stolen from her casket in a Texas funeral home in broad daylight, baffling police and forcing her family to deal with losing her a second time.

Julie Mott, 25, died Aug. 8 after a life-long battle with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe.
Her body was stolen after her funeral in San Antonio on Aug. 15 — which would have been her 26th birthday, Sgt. Javier Salazar told the Daily News..."

I'd want to see/ go through the tunnel when we visit Paris. The Eiffel Tower is a given, and there is so much more to see. The Louvre, the catacombs, Palace of Versailles. So much more. Who's been to Paris so we can see it through their eyes? We want sights, sounds, smells and taste of the french cuisine.

All of our trip is comfortable and paid for. Just bring mad money for the shops and your imagination. What do we need to stock the kitchen and bar with?

Well, champagne, of course! Artisanal breads and cheeses, fresh organic fruits, berries and other seasonal produce, French pastries... Oh what the hell, since it's all paid for, let's bring along a personal chef with a portable cooktop to prepare meals for us on the bus when we're not dining at great regional restaurants!

  • #874
I would not know how that feels...being I am 5'1" :spinner: lucky you :)

Just imagine that your knees are wedged up against the (hard and unyielding) seat in front of you, and not having enough room to the right or left to move in such a way as to get relief. Then imagine sitting like that for hours.

Thanks, airlines! Hope you're enjoying all that money you're making from reconfiguring the seating (in your dangerously old jetliners), leaving average-height people virtually no leg room...

As it stands, I can barely make it to California (5.30+ hours) without crying in pain.

  • #875
I'm like 5'.5-6 ish and doctor other day kept saying I was tall???

So you're about the same height as Jodi Arias, who was repeatedly described as "petite."

The one thing I can tell you (verified by other travelers), is to be aware that as charming as it looks to dine al fresco at those cute outdoor cafes, the menu prices differ. In other words, the same meal eaten outside costs more than if you it eat inside, and as I recall, it's even cheaper if you eat at the bar/counter rather than at a table.

Just something to consider. :)

Depending on how adventurous you are, I would also recommend getting accommodations through AirB&B. A much more authentic experience than staying at a hotel, and sometimes nicer and cheaper!
