Are you in any flight paths? You might want to check. There have been many instances of lasers pointed at planes, and I don't know if those lights would affect them.

I bought a living tree this year.....again. This one is different than a Norfolk pine, and it says it's drought resistant, so maybe I won't kill it as fast. Now other plants, I have no problem with my others. They have thrived this summer, and I several that I need to cut back and replant. And I have to find places to bring twenty seven house plants inside for the winter.

Luckily where I live I don't have to worry about airplanes but when I bought those lazer christmas lights it was the first thing I thought about because the instruction say to put them outside and angle them at the house but to be sure not to point in sky.

So I was thinking about how easy it would be for homeowners to mistakingly angle them up too high and shine in planes eyes. If these lights take off like I think they will then I expect lots of people messing up and shooting them too high in sky.

A fellow "plant lover" here too. :) We also have to take in some plants to prevent the winter from getting them but my goodness you have 27! Wow! That is really neat. What you can do is pick a window in a room where nobody hardly uses and just put them all together in a big bunch on the floor near the window. It wont look pretty but will make it easy to water and take care of them.

We love plants at our house too. We also tried a living christmas tree a couple years. They are neat. They were too heavy the one we got so we bagged that idea since I about broke my back moving the thing...LOL We of course had to get a large one and the planter that the tree came in weighed about 150 pounds...LOL

They actually do make one, Dremel tool , and we have at the last count three of them. We used them on bike frames - camera's things like that in case they were stolen and showed up in a pawn shop.

You are right. Good Idea. I have heard of Dremel tools but never saw one up close.

We're in the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Love Field flight path, and there have been several cases of people pointing lasers a them when they're on approach, and they have tracked them down. It'a federal offense.

My biggest is my weeping fig tree. it was eight feet at in the spring, but I had to cut of two feet because on branch started dying off, but was putting off new limbs. I hope I don't lose her. Some are so big dh uses a dolly to bring them in. We have twenty eight windows and have wonderful exposure in all of them. But I tend to put many in the dining room with thee in a row and a northern light.

I also have mini begonia, very pretty lime green with dots, purple with lime green dots etc, and Anna and I moss farm.

As clumsy as I am, I would etch right thru the ornament, so magic marker will have to do. I am kinda surprised you have 3.....

Have you been in my closet? :D

:) :) :)

I will have to keep an eye out for a pickle ornament. LOL The ones in that pic look nice and shiny.

Never tried the LED lights but they sound nice and bright.

Oh....there is something cool we got in the fall and are going to try out this year. They are a LAZER LIGHT display with just 1 light. LOL I actually plugged it inside the house and I think they are going to work out really good for the outside. They are really cool and shine a real lazer light beam against a mirror that splits the light into tons of tiny dots. Its pretty cool.

There are different kinds out in the market and the best ones we found are called "Star Shower" in link below. One of them does pretty good but since we wanted to shine the whole entire outside of house, we found this same Star Shower on an INFOMERCIAL and got a 3-deal for a good price, so we have 3 of them. Their link has a deal for 6 of them but its a little expensive and I don't think you need 6 of them unless you have a really big house and yard. 3 lights is plenty for me. Each one shoots out tons of little tiny lazer lights because of the mirror inside which splits the beam.

They say that you don't have to hang any traditional lights when using this gadget so if we end up liking it this year then I may not have to ever climb a ladder again after this year. LOL

They are really neat and I think they are getting popular as I have seen them advertised more and more lately.
I do think whats going to happen though is some people will accidentally let them point up towards the sky and I bet there will be some upset pilots around airports. I suspect we will hear in the news about how officials are going to try to regulate these lazer Christmas lights because there is too much risk that it will shine up in the sky with wind or animal knocking into it and making it point upwards.
They are a real lazer and the beam stays small and thin. But if you do end up getting any of these be careful to make sure you get the real ones. We saw some other ones that were not real lazer lights like we got.

Ill report back around christmas time how well they worked out :)

With all the shopping going on, many forget a babe born in a manger as the reason for the season. I hate to see the hate anarchy in the stores and malls.

Yes, I think I am going to use both and just supplement my regular lights with these lazer lights.

We have this 1 giant pine tree in the yard and its so big that I never have enough lights to put any lights on it. So this year, I am planning on using one of the lazer lights to light up the entire giant pine tree. Then I am planning on using my other 2 to supplement the house lights.

Its like my secret weapon this year. I was actually going to test it outside and the Misses said no. She wants to keep it a secret and shock everyone around Christmas. LOL She said if we wait it doesn't give them a chance to see them and buy some for themselves until we get to be first in the neighborhood...LOL

I kind of feel like Danny DeVito in the movie "Deck the Halls" trying to outdo all the neighbors with the lights. LMAO :)

Zuri, dh has thirteen weed eaters, three chainsaws, three push and four riding lawn mowers, and I have two complete sets, because he thinks I don't' have enough sets of knives and cookware. I have two blocks of knives on my counter, mine, and his, and two complete sets of Revere Ware because that was the big deal in the seventies, several Calphalon stockpots, skillets and a paella pan, and I've never made paella!

So true. Its easy to get caught up with the commercialism and forget why we are celebrating. We try to always go to midnight service on Christmas eve to make sure we remember why the celebration. I look forward to candlelight service and singing hymns.

Its a wonderful time of the year. :)

Good Morning... took me forever get on here!!

Tenn. was cold and rained, which was fine by me as I didn't take my cell phone or laptop, only thing I took was my Kindle for reading and my big soft couch throw. We rented some movies, fixed chili and corn chowder, bought lunchmeat, cheese and crackers and stayed in.

Squeaks handled the trip like he was a pro. He loved all the people at the stops and really had fun with the other dogs at rest stops. Good be back home!

Sounds like my kind of trip, coffeeJ. Hope you are feeling better now.

2006 - UK Desert Orchid Nov 13th, 2006: The famous racehorse Desert Orchid dies at the age of twenty-seven. The grey had achieved iconic status with National Hunt followers, where his versatility made him a favorite. He won thirty-four races in his career, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He won the King George VI Chase a record four times. Former trainer David Elsworth said the horse, nicknamed "Dessie" died peacefully in his stable.

Is it just me are or those horses moving slower than American racehorse? Is the length of the course the same? Or shorter since they have the hurdles to jump?

I didn't post his last race. He wasn't running his best and he fell.

Do you ride side saddle? or foxhunt? I guess I think of you as east coast (not politically correct) wasp, and Bernina is our western country cowgirl. Meaner than a rattlesnake if you piss her off. LOL. I haven't seen Bernina posting since the baby photos of Zella the other day. I hope Kissy, Zuri, and Zella are OK. I know she said her new beau was coming up/down to be with her when Kissy went into labor; she was going to be alone the first time, since exbf left, but Zella had other plans, and and it seems like she had an easier time with Zella than she did with Zuri. I wonder how Zuri is doing with her new baby sister, Zella. Or do they keep them apart? Would Zuri be jealous Zella?

The race depicted is a steeplechase, where horse gallop the course and jump over fences consisting of brush/bushes. As the course is long, the horses tend to be ridden slower so the rider still has enough horse to finish the race. Jumping requires a different type of endurance than racing on a track. The ground is called turf as there is also turf racing, similar to dirt racing, but on grass.

Horses require different shoes, depending on the surface they are on. There are many equine disciplines in the sport. Side saddle and fox hunting are two examples. There is gaited which is what the Tennessee Walkers etc compete in, driving which is a carriage with one or more horses pulling it, steeplechase which has jockeys that know how to jump and slightly different saddles than racing, hunt seat which is what I rode in which is English with an emphasis on position, horse's way of going, hands etc,. In hunters you are judges on the rider and/or the horse and includes jumping.

Jumpers are horses that do courses within a time limit and the fences get higher than they do in hunters. My horse can do 4', but jumpers have the scope to go higher like 6'. And it is fast. They fly around the ring and it is very exciting to watch. Eventing is another discipline where horse and rider compete in 3 phases: jumping, cross country and dressage. Cross country has a variety of jumps like logs, brush, tableaus etc and they gallop into and through water and up hills. Dressage is very elegant where you will see some riders still riding Ina top hat and coat tails and the horses appear to be "dancing" and the rider's movements are barely perceptible.

Western disciplines include barrel racing, roping, and classes similar to hunters and dressage, but done in a Western saddle and different rules. Fox hunting is done in areas where there is still enough land to go cross country with hounds. They no longer use a live fox to chase, but rather the scent of a fox that has been purposefully put down. It involves galloping over land and jumping fences, gates etc. Jackie Kennedy loved to fox hunt. I have never been.

And yes, I am an East Coast Wasp. You guessed correctly lol. Zuri has been weaned from Kissy months ago, so she should be accepting of Zella when she is introduced to the herd. I am sure Bernina has them separated as foals can be killed easily by a random kick by another horse in a herd. Typically, mare and foal are separated until it is time to wean, usually between 4-6 months of age. As far as jealousy, I would say no. Zuri is probably more attached to the herd in general versus her dam.

Thanks for asking. This is probably more info than you wanted lol.

I have a question and I am not asking so as to debate it. I don't like bringing up religion or politics as they can be very sensitive topics. I just need an understanding of how people define "True" Christians. Does this mean in general terms "Evangelical"?

I don't understand the difference between "True Christians" and "Christians". I thought they were the same. I just didn't know if it was just another way of referring to "Born Again" or "Evangelical" Chistians.

Please forgive me if this is not appropriate. I just don't know who to ask. Please delete it or ignore it if not allowed. Like I said, I just want an understanding or definition is all. Thanks so much.

I don't know either, and I don't mean to bring up the weather, but so much for words. It's whatever 'floats your boat' to get the the right places. Everybody gets along when they're in the same room from what I've seen.
