I'm loving all the stuff on "Sentencing and Beyond." This Nurmi book, on top of Juan's book, must be driving JA crazy. I would think that to her, after being sentenced to LWOP and with appeals looking unlikely, she probably thought it couldn't get any worse. Juan's book definitely upset her, thus her filing something about wanting to vet it. But NURMI??!!

Really, she should have seen it coming. Not that I support him, but she begged for him to stay on her case, then, in addition to not taking his learned advice, threw him under the bus several times. Karma is a b*tch.

I'm not going to buy his book, but I DO want to know what's in it! I have a feeling that, while it might be less substantive than Juan's, it might contain more stuff that she will find embarrassing. Funny how she spent most of her adult life creating a fictionalized version of herself, only to be brought down even further by the ugly truth of who she really is by the guy who she (at one time) begged to defend her.

Leave it to Nurmi to dragggg it out over 3 parts (at $16.99 each), just like he did with the trial. A lot of juicy tidbits from Part 1 already leaked online yesterday. Like the fact that they found 3X5 cards in her cell that she was using to practice Travis' handwriting. Nurmi admitted that the infamous 'confession' letter from Travis was written by Jodi! Juan and the defense team listened to her jail calls and heard about ALL her scams (think old guys and their money, soon parted). Search @tdecker13 on twitter and you'll get even more!

I just want to say that you write beautifully. Will you please write a book? About anything? Because I will buy it just to read your words. Just sayin...

Ok. I will take one for the team and buy Nurmi's book and share here as I read it. A poster on the main thread is going to as well.

Did anyone buy Chris Hugh's book "Our Friend Travis"? Is it worth a read?

Yes, goes by twitter handle "GilmourGirl." No new postings recently (today), but good stuff yesterday, though info is just from a friend at Amazon (secondhand). Can't wait to hear from someone who actually has the book and has gone through it...

Aw, thanks! With you plus my kids I could sell a whole three books! :)

Seriously, it is something that I've always secretly longed to do. I've tried many times to write something that's more than a few pages, but I either lose interest or find things too emotionally charged for my comfort level. Whichever, I've always walked away from those efforts without looking back. Sometimes the point of writing is just to bring about some level of catharsis. I'm okay with that...

The person who really SHOULD write a book is Kathy Monkman... Her blog, "Two Innocents," is very well-written. I can't figure out if it's also a book (?). If not, it should be!

Thanks, Zuri! Can't wait to hear your thoughts and read through some excerpts...

Smile it's National Leotard Day !!!! Whether you’re doing steps, low-impact aerobics or a plié, where would you be without the latest design in leotards?

The original leotard design was a skintight, one-piece garment with the lower portion resembling tights. On this day in 1859, the designer of the leotard, Jules Leotard, made his first public appearance as the world’s first flying trapeze artist, becoming the first to turn a somersault in mid-air and the first to jump from one trapeze to the next.

Just 21 years old, Jules had been practicing since he was a little boy. He would swing from a trapeze hanging over the swimming pool in his father’s gymnasium. The years of practice paid off ... first as the daring young man on the flying trapeze ... and second as the designer of the leotard, still worn by acrobats, dancers and exercise enthusiasts throughout the world.

OH - he floats through the air with the greatest of ease
The daring young man on the flying trapeze
His actions are graceful all girls he does please
And my love he has stolen away.

Hatfield, I love the Elf! I learned about the Pickle on the tree here on the SB, so I went out and bought a pickle ornament. Now I can't remember what it means.

Last year I went to Pier One and bought those tiny LED light strands that are battery operated. As I am not Martha Stewart, I put the lights amongst the greenery on my mantle and above the kitchen cabinets with decorations. The lights were so bright it looked like a landing strip in places. WTH. If anyone has these, could you please tell me how to best decorate with them? I was able to take some back, but Chayton chewed the box of the 20 ft. Long strand.

:) :) :)

I will have to keep an eye out for a pickle ornament. LOL The ones in that pic look nice and shiny.

Never tried the LED lights but they sound nice and bright.

Oh....there is something cool we got in the fall and are going to try out this year. They are a LAZER LIGHT display with just 1 light. LOL I actually plugged it inside the house and I think they are going to work out really good for the outside. They are really cool and shine a real lazer light beam against a mirror that splits the light into tons of tiny dots. Its pretty cool.

There are different kinds out in the market and the best ones we found are called "Star Shower" in link below. One of them does pretty good but since we wanted to shine the whole entire outside of house, we found this same Star Shower on an INFOMERCIAL and got a 3-deal for a good price, so we have 3 of them. Their link has a deal for 6 of them but its a little expensive and I don't think you need 6 of them unless you have a really big house and yard. 3 lights is plenty for me. Each one shoots out tons of little tiny lazer lights because of the mirror inside which splits the beam.

They say that you don't have to hang any traditional lights when using this gadget so if we end up liking it this year then I may not have to ever climb a ladder again after this year. LOL

They are really neat and I think they are getting popular as I have seen them advertised more and more lately.
I do think whats going to happen though is some people will accidentally let them point up towards the sky and I bet there will be some upset pilots around airports. I suspect we will hear in the news about how officials are going to try to regulate these lazer Christmas lights because there is too much risk that it will shine up in the sky with wind or animal knocking into it and making it point upwards.
They are a real lazer and the beam stays small and thin. But if you do end up getting any of these be careful to make sure you get the real ones. We saw some other ones that were not real lazer lights like we got.

Ill report back around christmas time how well they worked out :)

G3, would you write for some online journals like KCL does? She has had 2 published in "The Elephant Journal". She is writing a book actually and had been thinking of self publishing (like Nurmi lol), but now has connections with an editor to publish publish (like Martinez lol).

I think you are so eloquent and smart and relay your thoughts so beautifully. Blog? :)

Oh my. :)

That was wonderful !!!

I never saw that guy but he did GREAT. I love how they put the sing-a-long words down. I wish more shows would do that when they have great songs on TV. I can never remember words to songs and get frustrated as I try to sing along.

Thanks for sharing that wonderful clip.

The funny thing to me was his beard and face contrasted with the joyful song. He kind of looked like a scary Vincent Price ...LOL

BBM:
As Zuri already said, KCL is writing a book. You can read more at middle child book (all one word, no spaces) ( .com) Be sure to read the "about" page. It is going to be very good. I think she may be a little behind schedule since she got married, though. Her life has really grown in amazing ways now.

Thanks so much for taking one for the team. We appreciate it. It will be great to hear your views on it.

Hey all!

Nice weather here - last few days - 58 degrees!! :autumn:

I have some Christmas ornaments that my parents (actually, my Mamma) :D gave us every year with the date on them! And the Huz's favorite I gave him way back when is Homer Simpson with a beer in his hand and a Santa hat on!

Well - not much going on here! Lazy day today after yesterday's hospital visit for the Huz - bone scan - and hoping we get some "good" news on Monday!!

Off to read my other threads!

Take care everyone! and

JINGLES!! to all who need it!

:seeya:

That's another great idea to put dates on the ornaments. I so wish I had done that on a few of the important ones. We always get into friendly arguments about when we got certain ornaments. It would be so neat to have the date written on the back or bottom so we can remember what year we got the ornament.

The trick is some ornaments do not have a good place to write a date on them so some would be tricky but others do have a place.

That's a great invention if you can think of a way to etch a small date on an ornament or other things. So people can remember the year of their keepsake. You could become rich selling the gadget that etches the dates on things. :)

Are you in any flight paths? You might want to check. There have been many instances of lasers pointed at planes, and I don't know if those lights would affect them.

I bought a living tree this year.....again. This one is different than a Norfolk pine, and it says it's drought resistant, so maybe I won't kill it as fast. Now other plants, I have no problem with my others. They have thrived this summer, and I several that I need to cut back and replant. And I have to find places to bring twenty seven house plants inside for the winter.

They actually do make one, Dremel tool , and we have at the last count three of them. We used them on bike frames - camera's things like that in case they were stolen and showed up in a pawn shop.
