And now yet another book about the Florida murderer:

'America's most-hated woman': Casey Anthony drove around for FIVE days with two-year-old daughter Caylee's body in the trunk before disposing it, new book claims

"...Dominic Casey's new book, Privilege Waived – Part II, Caylee Marie Anthony, makes a number of shocking claims about Casey Anthony...

Dominic Casey was hired by the Anthony family five months after the little girl's death on June 16, 2008 to find her remains.

'On the afternoon of Monday, June 16, 2008, 'Casey Anthony murdered Caylee in the family's backyard, above ground pool,' writes the author.

At 2.51pm on June 16, Casey conducted a google search for 'fool proof suffocation' and then visited a pro-suicide website on the computer at her parent's house.

'Venturing into the pro suicide-pit', a website, offered advice on foolproof ways to die.

She followed that search up with suffocation by placing a plastic bag over your head.

Another google search was: Heated Wires can melt disposable breathing circuits.

And then she checked in on her Facebook page.

Between 3:39:59 pm and 4:10:41 pm, there was no cellular activity on Casey's cell phone.

'Casey had changed Caylee into her bathing suit. She walked her into the backyard and hooked the ladder onto the pool platform. Casey guided Caylee up the ladder to the pool then maliciously drowned her'.

'She then carried her lifeless body in her arms from the pool, through the side gate to the garage and into the trunk of the car' – where she remained for five days..." :(

Oh no, not that I hadn't suspected it, and the baby killer got away with it. :rage: :stormingmad:

1974 - The group, Faces, released their tune with the longest title. You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything (Even Take the Dog for a Walk, Mend a Fuse, Fold Away the Ironing Board, Or Any Other Domestic Shortcomings).

Speaking of long, there was father that gave his children a second phone for them to use an share and the name in the phone book was sixteen letters IIRC. Something that started with a H. We'd look for it each year when we got the new white ans yellow pages. we loved the yellow pages because they always had a drawing of Dallas, with all kinds of things; King Kong climbing up the wffa tower. Old fashion planes pulling with banners behind them, the Dallas Zoo's animal escape with giraffes running down the street. All kinds of things to look for while you're on hold. You'd try to find as many as you could.

The Carpenters, I love their music. Sons' graduation "We've Only Just Begun" was their song.

hahaha!

Yeah, I think after 28 years they should be tossed. Most ground herbs/spices are good for a couple years, some whole spices are good for up to four years. Best way to know is to use your eyes and nose. If they've lost their color and/or don't have their typical aromatic qualities, toss 'em.

ETA: Two interesting things that never go bad (and go well together!): honey and pure vanilla extract...

Yes, Gigi, you're right about vanilla extract, we still have some from over 30 years ago that we purchased in Mexico. It's still good and has that good strong vanilla scent and flavor. Isn't that amazing? And honey as well, it just crystallizes and has to be melted back down, yet always still tastes like honey.

LOL that tall bottle plain white label that say vanilla extract. I still have mine from our last trip to Mexico in 1987. And once you use real vanilla it's hard to go back to Adam's extract. I know you can make your own with vanilla beans and rum.

OK peeps...I ordered the book this morning and by the way...GOOD MORNING! :)

Thank you, your order has been placed.

•Trapped with Ms. Arias: Part 1 of 3 From Getting

Found this on FB...for what it is worth...

UPDATE: People are wondering what case of Juan Martinez's was continued because of a "personal conflict" so he can go on a book tour. It's case # CR2011-133622 before Judge Rosa Mroz. Defendant is Jesus Busso-Estopellan. This was confirmed independent of Michael Kiefer. The defense did not object because they had previously wanted a continuance but were denied.

Greetings from the cold, snowy, high desert...............yeh...........
Had snow last night, so the baby, who we're just calling "Chica", had her first real white stuff. She did really well, stayed in the shelter with mom, and was out blasting around this morning. Another sweetheart, just like Zuri.
Windows 10 had an update which totally screwed up my computer, am dreading calling MS tech services. The update wiped out my system restore dates, the notification bar and start menu.............the things that were supposed to be fixed with that update if your system didn't have the clean Win 10 download. So my computer is majorly fubar again.
Direct TV added Aljezeera America to it's lineup for whatever package I have, so I've found a decent news source without all the bias, and news that's up to the minute and not 12-24 hours old.
Doing a LOT of cleaning, re-organizing, demo, just trying to get things in order. Guess I'm just kind of getting overwhelmed, blah. The ex BF has tried to throw a few monkey wrenches in the works by changing his mind about issues we had agreements on, I've just let make the change and then he DOESN'T follow through............because that's just the way he is, lol! Kinda "concerned" that he's not on top of things, he doesn't remember stuff......like that I haven't smoked in 3 years or that Evey took her horse with her when she moved over 2 months ago, I dunno....
Still 32 degrees at 9:20 so I guess the snow is going to stick a bit longer.
Things are going great with the new BF, Marc. It's just really easy, comfortable, NORMAL. The distance isn't much of an issue, it actually helps us keep on track with stuff we individually need to get done. Thanksgiving weekend is going to be crazy busy, he's going to be working on one of his contracting jobs Wednesday, that night he'll be doing sound for the band, Thursday he's up here (we don't have a clue what we'll be doing, but football is in there, lol!), Friday have 2 cords of wood coming with no scheduled time, we're supposed to be back in Phoenix for a reunion Friday night and somehow squeeze in checking out a horse that's down there to bring up here, Saturday is a scheduled ride for his MC club, Saturday night the band is up in Prescott, and somehow we have to get one of his boats up here for storage and 2 tons of pellets...........................I am still getting used to having someone do what he says he's going to do! Marc runs on all 8 cylinders, none of this "hurry up and wait". I should be able to make the adjustment pretty easily, it's just "shocking" to be around someone who always follows through. I believe it's called "normal", lol!

Need to get time to go through the posts....I'm SLACKING!

Miss you kids! I'll be back! :seeya:

Hey Bernina! So glad you are happy! Normal is good!

Chica is really cute. I hope you will post more pics of her.

For anyone interested in reading posted excerpts from Nurmi's book, follow pinkandgreenmom on the main thread. She has been posting interesting snippets so you can get a feel for what the book is about. So far, Nurmi has thrown everyone under the bus.

Interesting side note, Beth Karas has become a Nurmi supporter and doesn't write very nice things about Juan Martinez. I don't know why I expected her to be a JM fan, I just did. There is a FB page that also has snippets posted.

Hi Niner, you have my prayers girl. Lt us know how the tests are. (((hugs)))

How ridiculous, why are people so overly sensitive these days? :tsktsk:

“Obsessive Christmas Disorder:” OCD is no joke, so some wonder why Target is selling this sweater"

Target is selling a sweater that makes light of OCD, which isn’t so funny to some of the people who actually have the disorder.
The red sweater is emblazoned with the acronym OCD, followed by the words “Obsessive Christmas Disorder.”

Speaking of spices, how long do you keep your spices for? Exactly what is their shelf life (no pun intended)? My BFF told me that the spices I had that were 28 years old were no longer good and to throw them away...:D

Just catching up now. I have found that the normal DRY spices in a bottle can be kept for a very long time. I have some that are 2-5 years old and they are still fine although of course the professional chefs say to keep them fresh if you can. But since they are so expensive and since a bottle lasts such a long time I usually just keep using the same bottle even after they get X number of years old.

I do try to replace the really old ones with a new bottle of McCormick spice when I see that it is fading in color and looking a little on the drab side. LOL I try not to let them get much older than 5 years old but I know other people that keep them 10 years or more.
For the ones that I seldom use, for those I don't mind them getting close to 10 years old because its just not worth buying a new bottle for the ones that you hardly use.

The older they get they wont hurt you but of course will lose the strength of the flavor.

I wish I could learn to grow more fresh ones. We only seem to have good luck with growing Basil and Rosemary. We even freeze the fresh Rosemary sprigots once the weather gets too cold for them. Rosemary is pretty easy to grow and the fresh Rosemary is nice and strong and sweet smelling.
The Basil plants seem to be a little harder to grow and a little more touchy. But we have had pretty good luck with growing it too. We just buy the small potted herb plants and bring them home and transplant them into a bigger pot and give them good sun.

Praying the results will be good for him.

I also turned off my automatic updates.

My last machine when I bought it I had turned off updates and I never installed any updates at all. LOL

It worked out pretty well because I have a good anti-virus software to catch anything and the only problem with that approach is as Websites started to update to newer designs and new Flash versions then I found I could not load certain websites.

I think this time around I may do the same thing and not load anything until that approach fails me. LOL
If I ever find I really need a Microsoft update then I will probably have a million updates to install. :)

Glad you are doing well Bernina and glad things are working out for you.

I have DirecTV too and I also like tuning into the AlJezeera network at times to get a different perspective on the news. There is a BBC news channel right near that one that I like too. I usually flip to all the different news sites to get a well rounded view of things.

I wish the US networks would not be so Bias in their coverage. It takes watching all the different ones to realize how bias some of them really are.

Still dealing with a headache from this morning's commute.

My 6.5 mile crawl came to a halt when I finally turned the last corner and saw that my destination was blocked by police blockades. That was AFTER spending almost 2 HOURS behind the wheel.

Turns out, it started shortly after midnight when a transsexual woman, having a mental episode of sorts, barricaded herself in an office building downtown. She had a gun and by some accounts, shots were fired.

At least nine square blocks were closed off. There I was, sitting in my car, inching along, only to find that just before I finally reached my destination, I was prevented from doing so.

At that point, I was on the verge of having a mental episode of my own. I'm surprised that the screaming going on in my mind wasn't audible for miles around.

For those of you unfamiliar with L'Enfant's grand design, downtown DC is a grid of mostly one-way streets, so it's not like you can just double back and find another way.

I finally gave up and started back home, which took another 1.5 hours. Bottom line is that now I have to work an additional day this week for not showing up today.

Does anyone else have to deal with this sort of thing? I mean, I didn't call in sick, and I didn't fake not being able to get to work. I did my best to get there. The streets were CLOSED.

http://wtop.com/dc/2015/11/barricade-situation-blocks-downtown-d-c-streets/

Not sure what her problem was, but it reminded me of an incident several years ago where a guy decided to attempt suicide by jumping off the Woodrow Wilson Bridge during rush-hour, causing major traffic jams.

http://wtop.com/dc/2015/11/barricade-situation-blocks-downtown-d-c-streets/

I was at work at the time and remember all of us listening to the news accounts about it on the radio. The frustrated commuters started getting out of their cars, chanting, "Jump, Jump!"

When it was eventually resolved and his name was released, we found out he used to work with our employer. Many people openly stated how nobody liked him anyway. Such a sad commentary.

SO, after this terribly long, frustrating and fruitless day, I am left with some ethical and moral issues that I'm still grappling with, even now:

1) Yes, I live in an urban area, and as ISIS stated just today, DC is a target for future (imminent) attacks. So, I can't really blame DC police for being hyper-vigilant. However, she was just one person, with one gun. (I also have a feeling the transsexual aspect played a role in her meltdown.) I think it became clear relatively early on that this was not a terrorist attack, yet they effectively shut down ALL of downtown. On a Monday morning. How can civilized life and regular commerce go on when every hiccup is treated as a threat to National Security and our very way of life?

2) (And this is just MOO) Mental health issues are out of control. How do people wind up this way? Where are the people who love them and care about them? Where are their families, friends and support systems? Society is utterly failing them.

3) Again, yes, I live in an urban area, and I hate it more and more every day. Any suggestions for relocation? I'm so ready to move.

End of story. Thanks all for letting me get this out of my system. Just writing out my thoughts has helped clear my mind...

How about some more Steve Tyrrell, I'm kinds stuck on him right now, LOL. I love, love that bluesy sound... :loveyou:
