Lol Zuri .. :notgood: (re boy toy )

Question for folks who have hardwood floors. I put in pecan floors about 15 years ago and just pulled up my dining room rug and it is lighter in color underneath where the rug was. Do you think that if I let the Sun hit it for a few months it will change colors and blend in?

ATL - My dad is a carpenter and he always recommended "Renuwell" as a miracle product when it is up to refresh wooden furniture or floors.
Actually, when I read your post I thought about the piece of floor just below my office chair where I'm sitting now. It's clearer then the rest because of the rolls of the chair (although they especially for wooden floors). I stood up to test the "Renuwell" in order to be able to tell you - well, it's amazing: no clear spot any more!
Have a look wether you can get it. Otherwise let me know.

Sorry, forgot this: I think it will blend in but the darker part might also continue to blend in so the discrepancy might continue. I'll ask my dad.

I'm still around, just busy.......grrrr! No baby horse yet.
Waiting for things to chill out a bit.

Good Morning SB friends! Do any of you say "Rabbit, Rabbit" on the first day of the month and get out on one side of the bed? My southern mother entertained us with this as children and I just happened to remember it this am.

Bernina, so glad you checked in. Managing your property must be very time consuming if you are doing it solo. I can't imagine taking care of 6 horses by myself, but your set up is smart and appears pretty efficient from my POV.

So, hope you are happy, healthy and wise! With a boy toy or two thrown in.

Zuri, do these problems occur because the horse is not eating a diet that a wild horse would?

There has been a lot of researchl on the route causes of colic, comparing wild horse population to domestic horses. Diet, management, activity, stalling, hay source, vaccinations, feed, turnout all affect domestically kept horses and I personally think affect the health of the horse. We have addressed all the above with vets across the world regarding my horse because he is so atypical which is fascinating to them.

It is their thought that it is how he is built internally (gut structure) and a genetic component that makes him more susceptible to bouts of colic to full blown life threatening colic. In people, it could be called Irritable Bowel Syndrome I guess with some Chrohns thrown in.

The wild horse population is not exposed to the same conditions, including diseases, as domesticated horses, but they have their own unique issues. Very good question by the way. Wild horses have accommodated to their environment whereas domesticated horses' environment seems to change no matter how consistent you try to be.

Zuri - I have one. Half of the year he's in the USA, the other half he's here. We can share! ;) ;)

Atthelake would hurt me bad if I did have a boy toy. We are "related" on my DH side and would kick my butt. You know when you are a kid and try and do something and don't want your parents to find out and you run into a friend of your parents? While doing it? Voila.

Human remains found in search for Conn. couple; detained son named suspect by prosecutors, son's girlfriend arrested

"The search for a missing Connecticut couple has taken a gruesome turn with human remains found buried behind a home Thursday, nearly three months after they vanished, authorities said.

That astonishing discovery in Weston came less than 24 hours before prosecutors named the 27-year-old son of Jeffrey Navin, 56, and his wife Jeanette, 55, as a suspect in their murder, the Harford Courant reported..."

Judge denies appeal from Utah inmate facing firing squad

"SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A judge denied an appeal Friday from a Utah death row inmate who argued that his sentence of death by firing squad is cruel and unusual punishment.

U.S. District Judge Dee Benson wrote in his ruling that the U.S. Supreme Court has never overturned a state's chosen method of execution as cruel and unusual, though he said inmate Ron Lafferty can still press his claims in Utah state court...

Lafferty, 74, had argued that the firing squad would cause a lingering, unnecessarily painful death. He chose to die that way when he was sentenced 30 years ago and such a choice was available, but his lawyers now argue that he wasn't legally competent to do so..."

Jury convicts Christopher Licon in 2010 killing of half-brother, 6-year-old nephew

"A jury has convicted an Arizona man of murder for killing his brother in a drug dispute and fatally shooting his 6-year-old nephew who had witnessed the death.

Jurors rejected 24-year-old Christopher Rey Licon's insanity defense Monday and will now determine whether he'll be sentenced to death or life in prison in his nephew's killing.
They found him guilty of first-degree murder and kidnapping in the December 2010 killing of the boy, Xavier. Jurors convicted Licon of second-degree murder in the death of his half-brother, Angel Jaquez..."

'Baseline Killer' appeals 9 death sentences

"Ten years ago, Mark Goudeau had just embarked on the spree of rapes and robberies and murders that would earn him nine death sentences, more than 1,600 years in prison and the title "Baseline Killer."

Over the course of two trials in 2007 and 2011, Goudeau, now 50, was convicted of 84 felonies involving 33 victims, including nine murders. Eight of the murder victims were women who police and prosecutors believe Goudeau shot in the head when they refused his sexual demands.

On Tuesday, an appellate attorney argued to the Arizona Supreme Court that Goudeau should have been tried separately for each of the murders and some other counts because the overwhelming number of crimes might have convinced the jury to find him guilty of crimes he may not have committed..."

Minnesotans Say 'No Thanks' to Private Prison Company

"Like many states in the "tough on crime" era, Minnesota is struggling to reduce overcrowding in its prisons and jails. For now, the state's government is paying counties to house over 500 incarcerated people that its prisons can't hold. Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the notorious private prison operator, says they have a long-term solution for Minnesota...

CCA wants to reopen the shuttered Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton, MN, and lease space to the state..."

A little funnie for a Sunday morn: :)
---------------------------------------------------------------

If You Have These Symptoms, You May Have Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder

Recently, a women was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. (Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder). This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my flower tubs.

As I turn on the hose I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

I go to get the car keys from the porch and then notice mail on the porch table.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the bin under the table and notice that the bin is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the rubbish first.

But then I think, I can run down to the post-box when I take out the rubbish I may as well pay the bills first. I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only 1 check left. My extra checks are in the computer desk, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of soda I'd been drinking. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the soda aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

The soda is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the fridge to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the soda, a vase of flowers on the window ledge catches my eye--they need water.

I put the soda on the window ledge and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my computer desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the window ledge, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone has left it on the kitchen table. I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the living room where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but some spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:

- The tubs aren't watered;
- The car isn't washed;
- The bills aren't paid;
- There is a warm can of soda sitting on the window ledge;
- The flowers don't have enough water;
- There is still only 1 check in my check book;
- I can't find the remote;
- I can't find my glasses;
- I have absolutely NO idea what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to work out why nothing got done today. I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all the darn day, and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming! :facepalm:

Spent Halloween at the barn, yet again as Knox was colicky. I wish I could put him on top of a dryer like we did with our kids. Just an episode, not that bad, but DDand I went over to feed him at 4:00 am. I was going to try and go by myself and not wake her, but I could not top the water buckets off with hot water by myself, so she had to go. Things were peaceful thank goodness.

Every time I get a call from my vet, I never know if it is good or bad. She was on her way to the barn at 8 pm and we met her there. Back to back severe colicks do not bode well, so I had to make arrangements in the event we had to put him down. I hope he continues running these exercises in futility for me for a long time. I pray then threaten with the euthanasia bottle.

The weather changes have not helped so a lot of horses colic when this happens. Ahhh. The things we do for love... And my internal clock is all messed up. It is now only 4:45 am, instead of 5:45 am. So now I can sleep hopefully and Knox will just quit teasing us, trying to get attention.

See you in Standard time!

Sending love and prayers to you this AM :blowkiss:

Here's a crazy story:

http://sharelikely.com/woman-intent...ium=sidebar&utm_campaign=Woman+Blinds+Herself

I have heard of people having limbs amputated, but never intentionally blinding themselves.

Had to look it up on Snopes to make sure it was true!

Oh my gosh, that's too terrible to watch. To me it sounds almost like some form of schizophrenia what with the delusional beliefs and all, I'll try to go back and watch some more, but IDK.... :scared: And how can a licensed professional be a part of something so heinous, unethical, IMO.

I don't know how many years back, but two sister in east Texas or Louisiana gouged their sister's eyes out because they thought they were possessed. Found it Neesaki you might remember this.

Since the links keep coming up as page not found - this is from the new york times - or google Myra Obasi

THE THREE sisters were on Interstate 20, just east of Dallas, in the early hours when it happened. Myra, who was driving, started to act strangely, trying to veer the car into oncoming traffic and off the sides of bridges.
Then the steering wheel squirmed into life and started to pummel her, before mutating into a monstrous demon. The apparition sprang from the dashboard, mounted the crazed Myra and began its possession of her.

It was exactly as the women had feared. The previous evening - 17 March, St Patrick's Day - they had fled from their hometown of Arcadia in northwestern Lousiana, convinced that an evil spirit was pursuing them.

Most of what is known of their journey - including a decision, halfway, to abandon their terrified children with strangers - has been told by the women to lawyers, friends and the police.

But only one thing was recorded for certain: Myra's admission, just after dawn, to a suburban Dallas hospital. Both her eyes were missing.

Morning! :wave:

:seeya: Bernina!! We're with you :waiting: for that pony!!

Love the "Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder" :laughing:

On the retirement calendars - I make one each year with my family pictures, about 9 on a page, and send to my brothers and sisters. This year my little Bro's girlfriend wants one, so will be sending her one, plus two other people at the Memorial want the calendar. Little Bro's girlfriend put out a few of the calendars I had made in past years, and that's where the two other people saw what I do each year. So that means I have to make 10 copies this year. Yikes! More than I usually make. Might have to look at a print shop to do it for me, but the Huz says it would only cost me $32 if I do them at home - the cost of an HP color print cartidge, so I'll have to see how much a print shop will do it for!

Hey Daisymae! :wave: Did you watch Federer and Nadal yet? If not, I won't say who won!

Woke up this morning thinking it was a quarter to nine, but forgot :doh: to turn the clocks back this morning, so only a quarter to eight!

Does anyone know HOW to delete pictures from what I have posted already? And "where" do I find those pictures? I can't post the color one of my kittys, as I guess, it "knows" that I've posted them already and keep going back to the black & white pictures I posted already... :gaah:
