Congrats Bernina!!!! Beautiful filly! Love the markings. Do you need another "Z" name? I have spent months thinking of some just in case lol. So very happy for you. Oh how I wished my 2 fillies had made it into this world. I so wanted a "Bernina" of my own.

"Zella" looks lighter than Zuri did at birth or no? Do you think she might stay bay? I am so excited for you. I am also so glad that Mark is there to help you. I am also so happy that you are happy. You deserve to be treated with love and kindness and supported and validated.

PS: I am calling the new filly "Zella" until you decide her new name. I met this really cool woman once whose name was "Zella", who had the biggest heart, and was simply lovely both inside and out. I always thought if I got another GSD, I would name her Zella. Please forgive me. I am living vicariously through you. Xo

Zuri, are you programing us to chose the name Zella? LOL. I was thinking Nore, neesaki, or Gigi, but Zella is in the z. Well, Bernina has to name her that now, it just sounds right. And I'll always think ZELLA as in a streetcar named desire.

Like I said, I am living vicariously through Bernina lol. "Zella" sure is cute and I love her markings. :D

Well my kitchen cleanup lasted 10 minutes. I get so short of breath and my back muscles just spasm horrifically. I am drenched in sweat and I am very annoyed. Moderation and patience are not my strongsuits. I will tackle it again after laying down and reading here for awhile.

So since I obviously need to be entertained, what are you all doing today? Is anyone having good weather? Raking leaves? Shopping? Following an interesting case here? Having fun?

Here something to do Zuri, Beth has released the text between Travis and Jodi, They're very revealing, and show how much she stalked him. Constant, and I mean constant, text to Travis. One right after the other many times. She starts calling him hon, sweetie, and sweetheart, and gushes about how wonder he is as it gets closer to her leaving. She very boldly ,instigates, and propositions Travis with promises of kinky sex. It was her not him that brought the kinky into that relationship.

He answers her text when she compliment him, but many times just ignores them, which makes Jodi more frantic. Some are posting in Sentencing and Beyond what they're reading.

1940 - The Tacoma Bridge in Washington State collapses. See? This is why we don't like bridges. You can thank me now for sharing this experience with you LOL. Another stop on our trip.

You need to take it slow and easy, Zuri. Don't push too hard, don't wanna see you have a relapse. But hang in there and just do a little at a time while getting plenty of rest, as much as you feel you need.
As far as weather, we've been having rain, rain, rain, and clouds, clouds, clouds. Then finally today a tiny bit of sunshine, and tomorrow it's supposed to be sunshine, Thank you God! :skip:
I don't have much entertainment value to offer as the shorter days and especially the change from daylight savings time has me feeling like a total zombie. But, I did get my Christmas tree put up with lights only, :happydance: I'll probably go ahead and add part of the decorations tomorrow, but save the really Christmasy ones for a week or so. Last year I put it up Halloween week, so I'm a little behind, LOL. My pre-lit mini trees lights all burned out, they last about three years. So I'm getting rid of them and just replacing with new ones. My DH says, just put your own lights on, but when I've tried that they look tacky, sorry DH, LOL. So I'm going to get a couple next week at Hobby Lobby.

Christmas shopping.... :scared: Well, thank goodness my son gave me a Christmas list, but it's all online, what could be easier ? :) Especially since I truly hate going to the mall. Do you like shopping? Specifically at the mall? I remember in my younger days I couldn't wait to go to the mall. Weird how things change, isn't it? I'm just getting old I guess, :giggle:
You hang in there good lady. Jingles coming your way. :blowkiss:

The story of Genie was heartbreaking, Pages. I don't recall hearing about her before you posted this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went over there and read some interesting summaries, got a male anatomy lesson, was forced to remember ALL of Heinous, and read some really well thought out theories lol.

Let us know if you can re-subscribe successfully as I may try the same. Thanks again!

1952 - The United States detonates the world's first thermonuclear weapon, the hydrogen bomb.

The Bible talks of the Gog Magog war and describes a person as standing, and being burned up by something, and that men will set apart men to constantly pass through the land, burying those who were passing through, even those left on the surface of the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. "As those who pass through the land pass through and anyone sees a man's bone, then he will set up a marker by it until the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog, and that every kind of bird and all the wild animals: 'Assemble and come together from all around to the sacrifice I am preparing for you, the great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood".
It says He'll bury Gog in the valley of Israel. That is the Golan Heights today. Last month found billions of barrels of oil there. The very place Russia is marching to right now.

I had to go through the whole subscribe thing again and it had me in this loop of you paid, here's your receipt , but no you can't get in even though you're login into an account you can't access because I'm not subscribed. But it's all good now, and I can go back over her journals and see what she was writing for those days of the texts. Did you know that she stole more than one of Travis's journals? he begs her in a text that he'd gave all the money he had to get them back, that he knew she took them because they were about the time they met until then.

I don't have a problem in paraphrasing question anyone has.

1980 - Actor Steve McQueen dies at age 50 . I had the hots for him. I remember watching Bullet with my mother. It was the same theater we'd walk to on Saturday afternoons. We each had a quater. It cost a dime to get in, then you decided if you wanted a coke and popcorn or pickle and candy. If you found any pennies nickels or dimes during the week you bought the hotdog that rolled around on metal bars.

I was out late, and now I'm up late. Good thing it's the weekend!

Thanks for sharing this video and a song I love but had mostly forgotten about.

I find it interesting that this group from the late-sixties was so definitively interracial.

From Wikipedia:

The Foundations were a British soul band, active from 1967 to 1970. The group, made up of West Indians, White British, and a Sri Lankan, are best known for their two biggest hits, "Baby Now That I've Found You" (a Number One hit in the UK Singles Chart and Canada, and subsequently Top 10 in the US), written by Tony Macaulay and John MacLeod; and "Build Me Up Buttercup" (a number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 in Canada), co-written by Macaulay with Mike d'Abo, at the time the lead vocalist with Manfred Mann. The group was the first multi-racial group to have a number 1 hit in the UK in the 1960s.[1]

How nice it is to be reminded that this was a successful group almost 50 years ago. Sad that we're still dealing with race issues today, but just goes to show that there has been a long history of tolerance in the arts, if not in the mainstream, and that good music can help bridge the divide. Build me up, buttercup!

On the tenth of November it's been been thirty five years since she went down. This song makes me think of the places like the big lake Gitche Gumee and Whitefish Bay, and what they're like, and how freezing cold is it up there on the great lakes?

"The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald"

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
Then later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?

The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
When the wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
'Twas the witch of November come stealin'
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin'
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind

When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck
Sayin' "Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM a main hatchway caved in
He said, "Fellas, it's been good to know ya"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below, Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered

In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early

Thanks a lot, coffee, there are some really precious reminders. I'll pin them on my bathroom wall as I tend to forget what is most important and helpfull for me.

Good Morning SB Friends :)

I think know what is/was wrong with me...came down off a high dose of steroids (for my back) and I do think I went into a slight depression coming down off them. Feeling slightly better and my DH is taking me to our cabin in the mountains tomorrow, just for a few days :) He thinks that will help bring me back to my old self. Let's hope so. We are taking Squeaker with us, so that should be interesting...he loves riding in a car, so that's a plus and we will make plenty of pit stops for him. He should do ok. I hope! He is 5 months old now and weighs 4 lbs. Vet is very happy with his growth rate and wants him between 4 1/2 and 5 lbs for his final weight. He will stop growing when he is 6-8 months old.

Hope everyone enjoys their day and you have plenty of laughter and sunshine in your life! :loveyou:

Good morning :seeya:

It's a cool and rainy day here.

Thanks- Spellbound and Niner for your kind thoughts about my long post. I really appreciated that and made me feel better. :)

I didn't find a Winter coat that I liked, but I did find one of those "puffy" jackets, but not too puffy, for my son to wear. They were having Veteran's Day sales at JC Penney
and I bought a $100 jacket for only $42- a good deal. The jacket fits my son well and best of all, he likes it (I was worried about that- even tho' he is not
into clothes that much). It was so crowded everywhere I drove with the sales for Veteran's Day and Walmart was having a pre-Black Friday thingy. People were
crawling all over the store and buying, buying, buying- some even had 2 carts of Christmas things! I had to wait so longggggggggggg on line at the checkout.
I was so tired by the time I got home. I was out of the house at about 11:30 and back home by 4:30- too long for this old lady.

I received one of those letters from my internet provider and I'm too high again on the BW, so I have to cool it for a while 'til it goes down.

I like the name Spellbound calls Bernina's new baby horse- Kissybaby. :)

Glad you are feeling a little bit better Coffee.

Zuri- I saw your comment on the feminine collective.com. and I noticed that she didn't really respond to your descriptive statement about the murderer and just
reiterated all the things she does (just like she did with the other poster, so, to me, a waste of breathe [like whistling-in-the-wind]).

Have a nice Sunday all :seeya:
