Botha are you reading from the affidavit I gave you? Not your own one. PE: proceeds to read out section of affidavit. again.

But Serfontein's positively linked the cartridge with a 38 Special revolver. PB: Where did this revolver come from?

PE: I wonder if he did not make a mistake and rectify it again.

PB: If there was a mistake. That mistake would only have been picked up after the day the original affidavit was made.

PE: Or the same day.

PE: We do make mistake on our statements, My Lady and we correct them but I cannot remember.

Much appreciated Prime. Surprised there are not more members watching. I flagged this after seeing it on the Crime Channel some time ago.

Thank you em, nice to see you following. :) Sorry I missed your message, I wasn't reloading the page enough. I got interested after the Panorama doco, just too many questions. Things might pick up if the trial makes progress hopefully.
Even with things looking bad for the police and ballistics, I just can't believe Anni would want to go sightseeing late at night to see a township. I can see why Sneha and Anni's family don't believe SD. I just wonder if there is a strong enough case as poster Kevin mentioned early.

Oh bloody hell, I wasn't expecting that! I feel sorry for the ballistics guy.

Yep, he didn't know whether he was coming or going, lol. Just terrible, they probably couldn't afford a replica vehicle. I'm getting a distinct feeling they're underfunded.

This trial just seems to get delayed each week with one thing and another. I do agree that there seems to be a lack of funding. I have witnessed first hand how much corruption there seems to be in South Africa.
Well, in many countries in Africa but... Would have expected better in South Africa.
(Out of context) but can remember being in a make shift court room in Mozambique. It was a schoolhouse and all the people attending sat at small school desks. The judge sat at a rickety table covered by a red cloth and every so often would bend her head to wipe/blow her nose on this table cloth. It was a very frightening experience to think that this judge could put the accused in prison for many years. Sorry this is out of context but just shows that anything can happen.
I also cannot believe as I have said earlier that someone as educated as Anni would want to go to any township.
A big thank you to Prime suspect for the updates.

What a frightening experience KC, how anyone can be judged fairly under such circumstances beggars belief and I wonder what credentials that judge had. Oscar Pistorius' uncle has property and schoolhouse in Mozambique, to think if Reeva had been shot while on vacation there, the trial would have been a bigger farce than it already was.
If SA police and the judiciary system have corruption, no wonder they're lacking the resources to do thorough investigations, and I fear Dewani and others of his ilk, will walk. :sigh:

Justice for Anni. Given the facts I am concerned that SD will get off scott free. Seems to be circumstantial largely, but I believe these circumstantial facts build into a strong case that SD set Anni up for slaughter, because he was a selfish and weak person. JMO

My re-post,
This b****** is going to get away with this. Now we all now parts of South Africa are unsafe and maybe they killed Anni on the fly.....but if one looks at the details it builds a clear picture of a Rich Man-boy who is used to having things how and whatever he wants - and always getting it, who sets up poor Anni, so he comes off clean. He cannot have his community knowing he is bi-sexual because he then would not be the golden number one son to the folks, because the advantages of being the golden one will plummet. If he was a genuine person he would have told Anni. To me if he cared about Anni he would not have taken her to the unsafe area in the first place !! He is dishonest to save HIS face in particular. Dishonest, selfish, conceited and a murderer by design. JMO

Township tours are on many an educated tourist's itinerary. And in Gugulethu, Shrien was correct, many tourists and suburban locals visit Mzoli's, even educated ones.

But never at night.

Shrien Dewani only got half his fake excuse right.

Yes I do agree that there are organised tours to townships. But in this case he supposedly just met the driver at the airport so it wasn't exactly an organised tour.
I have been on quite a few tours in South Africa and I did observe that it is just that an ORGANISED tour. They just go to certain areas that are safer. The tourists are greeted by people in the community who are used to having tourists visit them. One time I was in a township on the outskirts of Joburg and was with a person who was searching some relatives there, but when they saw me in the vehicle the reception became quite hostile and that was in daylight hours.
I am not saying that everyone is bad with no morals in the townships in fact i have met some lovely people. But it is asking for trouble to go in a taxi as a couple in the night. This is why most tourists who are curious to see a different way of life would use the organised tour operators.

British businessman Shrien Dewani's trial, on a charge of murdering his wife Anni, continues in the Western Cape High Court in Cape Town on Monday.

At his last court appearance on Wednesday, a police ballistics expert called by the State seemed to cause much exasperation and frustration during cross-examination.

Pieter Botha, for Dewani, questioned Warrant Officer Pieter Engelbrecht about how he arrived at his ballistic results and seemed incredulous when given the answers, often stating: “Are you serious?”

Engelbrecht's testimony had focused on how he compiled three re-enactment videos showing how Anni could have been shot in the shuttle bus her husband claims they were hijacked in.

Shrien Dewani has arrived. Media have taken their seats.

Warrant Officer, Pieter Engelbrecht returns to the stand today, to face another grilling from the defence.

Male escort, the German Master, is believed to have arrived in CPT at the weekend. He's expected to be called next.

Engelbrecht has taken his position in the witness box.
