Tongo: My mistake. He said a person.

VZ: Didn't he say he's not involved in such things?

Tongo: He said he will in contact with someone. He went into the hotel, checked his phone for the number. We went outside again. He called the man.

=========================

I don't know anything about all of this but the article says,

He said the doctor's widow, Heather Raghavjee, had travelled from King's William Town to Cape Town to comfort Dewani after the murder. But he said they had never previously met and the widow had made the journey at the request of her daughter-in-law, Alvita Raghavjee, who lives in the Bristol area and knows the Dewani family.

Maybe this is reasonable in the Indian culture but, if not, I just think it's weird. If this woman just happened to already be in Cape Town, I can see it. But traveling all the way from the UK to support a guys you've never met and he's never met you - when HIS family was already there ( yes?) seems unbelievable to me.

Anyone else that can weigh in?

Tongo's gone back to calling the hitmen 'these men' again, as though he doesn't know their names.

VZ: Is it a fact that he was to be paid by the young men or was that something in your head?

Tongo: That's one of the things that I heard.

VZ: Who said it?

Tongo: That's one of the things I remember from the phone call on the Friday (At the Protea hotel)

Some kind of screwy PR exercise? Maybe to put her case in the public eye beside Dewani's, in the hope the public would think they are both victims of South African 'injustice'?

I don't think it has anything to do with Indian culture. It's just very, very strange.

VZ reads another part of Tongo's statement in which Tongo says that Monde wanted R5000.

VZ: Is this correct?

Defence to Tongo: is it a fact that Monde 'middleman' was to be paid by Qwabe 'hit man', or something you just thought? #DewaniTrial
