PH: I was informed by the local identification centre that Xolile Mngeni was identified from a palm print on the bonnet. I contacted the accused during the afternoon & informed him that I needed to interview him & that I recovered certain items

I thought Dewani said Anni hid the ring at some point?

#DewaniTrial Cpt Hendrikse confirms the ring was found by a policeman between the seats of the VW Sharan, where Dewani had hid the ring.

eimajjj, SD has a case to answer, my opinions or theories are no different than the state's case against him, I'm not personally bringing him to trial, it's not my case. I will sleuth him, isn't that what we're about here. I thought it strange in your other post that you were shocked that myself or another poster were attacking his character? Then what do you think of the Crown Counsel who've extradited him and are examining his actions/behaviour/witness statements and the very real possibility that he hired a hit man to kill his wife?

They're accusing him of a crime, not calling him a coward, a narcissist or wishing him audits in his home country.

Can you give an example of SD busy grieving?

His time being sectioned, diagnosed with PTSD and being witnessed crying and distraught has been well-documented. You just choose not to believe it real.

Capt. Lutchman described both SD and Tongo as being in a state of shock when they were first brought in as victims of a hijacking, we know now that Tongo is definitely guilty, and presumably, SD is innocent, yet they both exhibited an acute stress reaction, which also could be interpreted as an adrenaline rush.

It could. Or it could be the most probable outcome: a man just found out he lost his wife, and an attempted robbery/ransom plot ended up with a murder and Tongo realised how deep he's in for it now and needs to think up something quck.

SD broke down in tears in front of all the family and police officers on November 14 when he was informed that Anni was dead, 24 hours later he's hooking up on Gaydar and Recon, there is evidence in phone records. So is that what a grieving husband does when his young bride is brutally murdered? It doesn't mean he's a killer but he's not a man who's devastated by his wife's death, maybe he was relieved, he could get back to England and hit the scene once again without a wife to answer to.

Yes there's evidence he logged onto the site. Can you show me your evidence to prove he was 'hooking up' and 'hitting the scene'?

I'm trying to justify his behaviour as it appears to an outsider, like LE, the state and the public, and imo, he was not a man in love. That's no big deal in stark reality of what happened, so no point stressing over it. I'm not easily influenced by a flood of tears or carry on to prove one is genuine either.

And you're ignoring all the evidence of them being in a long relationship but using a few texts and his bi-sexuality as proof for that?

Imo, SD's breakdown came after he was accused of a serious crime and called back to answer questions. Maybe, being scared to death to go back to South Africa is quite telling, he personally chose South Africa as the honeymoon destination. Anni had no idea till a few days before of where they were headed.

What evidence do you have that his trauma came immediately after, and more importantly, because he was called back to South Africa.

SD chooses one of the most dangerous places without Anni's input or decision as a couple,

How do you know this?

and the day after arriving is driven into the 'knife crime slums' of Gugulethu at 11 pm at night and is murdered!

Slums that are driven through by several taxis on the way back and forward from places in South Africa.

And like a coward, he doesn't want to travel back and defend his name, to oversee Anni's killers are brought to justice?

If your wife was killed, and you knew the killers had been identified already, and you heard they were accusing you of orchestrating it and it not true, would you focus your energy on disproving that or would you have better things to be doing, like grieving the loss of a loved one. Especially when the killers became identified already. I personally wouldn't be able to leave the house, let alone humour a half-baked concoction that it was my doing in the same country the tramau happened.

As if that's not bad enough, SD the controlling, perfectionist says it was Anni who persisted in the tour of the slums in the middle of the night! SD was the one who wanted to come to South Africa! Anni was doomed the moment she met this man, imo.

These are the attacks I'm talkign about based on a few unhappy texts and a bit of information.

About not being able to identify the hijackers, SD in his first statement said, he will not be able to identify them, he didn't say he can't, there is a huge difference.

They're the same to me. And they were identified anyway. He probably thought justice would be done, not his name being dropped in it.

Carrying the large amount of cash for a helicopter flight that wasn't booked or a great 'deal', how can SD explain that, he can't.

He obviously got told by Tongo to give him the money secretely that night and trusted him. Hence why Tongo needed the hijacking to happen that night.

Or why did it take him 3 years to even come up with why he had the cash in the car and that he confided in Tongo that he had it?

The money for the helicopter would be the last thing on his mind, especially if he didn't suspect Tongo at that point.

Why hide Anni's £25,000 ring in a vehicle that's being stolen?

Because he must have thought that this was a robbery and if the police got the car back, he'd get the ring back. It's pretty simple. The question should be if he thought this was part of the plan of a hit, then why hide a ring in the car it was going to happen in?!

Why did SD phone Tongo after seeing him in the hotel where he gave him the money? SD didn't look grief stricken then.

Who knows why he phoned him?! Could have been another thank you, reminder to do something, tell him he forgot something or to tell someone something. I doubt it was a 'good job, thanks again buddy'. And yes, sometimes grief-stricken people have moments during their life where they don't look grief-stricken.

The true identity became known later.

PH: On 17/11 I interviewed Zola Tongo & took a statement on instruction from Col. Barkhuizen as the 1st stm was incomplete

When I took Tongo's stm, some things concerned me. 1) he was a black taxi driver who knew the locations 2) that he would drive into an area at that time of night 3) he should've known at that time of night Mzoli's is closed

Also the fact that Tongo had been pushed out the vehicle and later the accused was pushed out the vehicle and drove off with the deceased. I shared my concerns with Tongo.
On that same day, Mngeni did a pointing out of the crime scenes.

Mawewe was considered a suspect at that stage. He and another man, Tshangana, have statements.

Er - Is judge Traverso about to explode? Whatever's going on?

Leigh-Anne Jansen ‏@LA_JANSEN 1m1 minute ago

Traverso: Mr. Mopp you are pushing me to the point where I will do something. This crime happened 4 years ago & police had 4 years to investigate. I have no doubt that by the time Mr. Dewani was extradited from the UK, the investigation was complete.
It should've been complete

PH: police tracked down a second suspect, Mr. Qwabe

PH: Mr. Qwabe was prepared to make a confession & I arranged for that to be taken by Col. Clark
