Preyen Dewani said in the tapes that South Africa is not 'a normal' country.....'these are black people'. This, from the family that accused South African judiciary and law enforcement of racism in prosecuting Shrien Dewani. Makes me wonder if those racism ideas were just a projection of their own prejudices now.

He also said money can buy a person 'anything' in South Africa. So I suppose - giving him the benefit of the doubt that he has knowledge of the country and wouldn't make claims without any basis - it's not unreasonable to assume money can then buy an instant hitman to kill an unwanted bride?

Kansagra, who is the daughter of the founder of the Indian airline SpiceJet, met Dewani at a party in August 2008. The couple eventually got engaged but Dewani broke it off just days later, the Sunday Mirror reported. According to the newspaper, an unnamed South African 'police source' said: "[Dewani] told her he could not have sex with her.

I don't know if this is from a reliable source.

I hope Dewani's ex-fiancee agrees to be a witness in the civil trial because if this is true, they could win it.

An organisation's asked to be a friend of the court. Not sure what the impact could be if accepted? I should do, because we had the same thing in the Pistorius trial, but I've forgotten. :(

Actually, I'm puzzled. Do prosecutors have the power to delay judgement? I would have thought that would be up to the judge, and I'm not sure Traverso would accept a delay so near to her announcing her decision.

I do think it makes more sense to object and appeal once a decision's actually made, but I suppose the fear is Dewani will be released and leave for the UK straightaway, and never return to SA.

This petition to have Judge Traverso removed from the Dewani trial is as silly as asking the HRC to sanction Nel in the Pistorius trial.

If you have issues with what's transpiring in a court, lawer-up and launch an app. You'll also have to prove standing.

Do these fools not realise how problematic it is to have the expectation that a minister should intervene in court to remove a judge.

BTW Zwiebel, the name "Amish" is more common spelling in India.

The British tourist murdered in South Africa burst into tears and refused to sit next to her husband as they flew off on their honeymoon, her father claimed last night.

Yesterday Anni’s father, Vinod Hindocha, added to the mystery surrounding the case when he telephoned The Mail on Sunday and said: ‘We have heard that the air hostess noticed they were sitting separately and Anni was crying.

The air hostess apparently asked Anni if she would like to sit with Shrien, but Anni said no.’

It is not clear where this information originated from, or indeed how it was passed to Anni’s family. Pressed to elaborate, Mr Hindocha said: ‘We are not sure, it is something you will have to check out.’

Dewani was ‘impotent’ first fiancee claims

Rani Kansagra, 26, was engaged to Dewani shortly before he met his wife-to-be, Anni Hindocha, and is said to have told South African police that they broke up because of the Bristol businessman's sexual problems. Detectives are already investigating whether Dewani, 31, was secretly gay as a possible motive for having his wife killed during their honeymoon in Cape Town last November.

A translated record of the meeting - published today by MailOnline - was secretly taped by Anni Dewani's cousin and exposes the grieving family's deep mistrust of the British businessman just days after the Swedish engineer was buried.

This reveals so much imo, especially SD badgering Sneha about what Anni said in her text, FIVE times he asks her, 'what did she say?'!

SD doesn't mention going to the money exchange. This ties in with him not telling the cops there was R10 000 in the taxi. So there the web of lies began.

Preyen even asks SD why the hotel didn't send a car on the Saturday night, SD says because it's not on their list, they wanted to go far out.

Another interesting comment, SD says he called Tongo at lunch time on the 13th November, VZ said this didn't happen. So did SD use another phone? Hmmmmmm, :fishy:

SD gives a long explanation that Anni was having talks with Tongo and they headed for Gugulethu.

SD mentions Mngeni asking for Anni's handbag because her phone was in the bag.

SD says Anni gave him the rings to give to Mngeni who held the gun,
he doesn't say she hid the engagement ring or that he hid it, but seeing he knew exactly where it was as he told the cops, he hid the ring.

SD and Sneha discuss the black stone ring...

SD says Mngeni stuck his head out of the car window and pushed him out like a roly poly onto the road. Vinod Hindocha asks if the taxi was moving, SD answers, yes, slowly. Why would these gang of robbers care about SD being uninjured, first thing how Mngeni managed to throw him out while sitting in the front seat is an amazing feat in itself, why slow down?? We KNOW this is a lie, the car must have stopped. SD received no injuries from his expulsion from the car and even Mr and Mrs Hindocha were troubled by this.

Mrs Hindocha asks SD if he was injured, he says he was dirty from the sand.

SD said the police took no swabs from him, for DNA or fingerprints.

When Nilam asks again about how SD was pushed out of the car window, he says, 'Yes, they pushed my head first, and then they pushed the rest of me through.'
Why does SD say 'they'?

The part that would make anyone angry, especially Anni's parents is when SD blames the mood of the robbers on Anni. They must have been outraged!!

After SD describes how he was pushed out of the taxi, Nilam asks, 'What was Anni doing?'

SD: 'She was just screaming on the back seat - she was lying down and her head was right up in the corner'.

Nilam: 'How could you just leave her with 2 Kairas [black people/men]?'

SD: 'Yeah, I, I did not have a choice, I mean she argued so much, the more we argued with them, the angrier they were getting.'

Just unbelievable, it was Anni's fault, she screamed, she argued, and SD the relaxed, merry man was released! He deserves a medal.

When SD is asked further questions about being let out of car, he keeps repeating that 'they' were so angry.

Preyen warns the Hindochas about the press and what to expect.

The argument about the funeral is very upsetting to read, the poor parents. Mr Hindocha says that the look SD gave him at the funeral was really, really scary.

Mr Hindocha saw the real Shrien Dewani that day. Poor man. :( SD has no feeling for Anni's parents whatsoever, it's like he had to prove at the funeral that Anni was HIS wife, he wanted all the control so NOBODY can say he didn't love her! Very warped and calculating kind of thinking.

SD making so many excuses about his arguments with Anni. smh

The transcript was accepted as an accurate record of the conversation by both the prosecution and the defence when it was submitted to the court, but it was not submitted as evidence during the trial.

The 50-page record also lays bare a number of striking discrepancies between the story the 34-year-old gave to his in-laws in November 2010 and the account he offered to a South African court eight weeks ago as he went on trial for Mrs Dewani's honeymoon murder.

Despite glaring variations in his version of events leading up to, and after, his wife's fatal shooting two weeks after their wedding, Dewani is next week widely expected to be cleared of having any hand in it.

n the meeting, which was designed to give Anni's father the full story from Dewani, the accused made no mention at all about a helicopter trip he claims he was planning.

During his trial it has been claimed that he had R10,000 in Anni's handbag to pay for a surprise helicopter trip for his bride and was to ask taxi driver Zola Tongo to arrange it for him.

The helicopter ride was not mentioned to police, his public relations guru, the jailed sex pest Max Clifford, or a journalist who interviewed him on tape.

The claim emerged a few years after the murder.

See transcript of Dewani meeting at this link at the end of the article.

I doubt whether this is factual for the reasons you suspect. It clearly says in the transcript in the Daily Mail that fluid was found inside Anni. This was obviously not from the hijackers or rape would have been added to the charges. That leaves only one person who could be responsible and that was Dewani and it says as much on page 28/29 of the transcript. If that is the case it really doesn't matter what his ex-fiancee says.

I found the transcript very hard going but I did read on pages 6,7 and 14 that he discussed going to change money in the shopping mall, forgetting his passport and having to go back for it, and then going back to collect the money. However, he definitely does not say how much.

On Page 25 he says that he hit his head and shoulder when pushed out of the window and the doctor gave him something for the bruising but it seems he was not hurt much as he fell onto sand and seemingly did not need to seek further treatment. If this is true it will be verifiable. His also says his shirt was dirty.

Whilst I think he has a large number of questions to answer, I think there appear to be some truths in the transcript, though not enough to indicate his innocence.

I am still hoping, against all odds, that Judge T continues with the case so we can hear him cross examined.

From what I have gleaned, the police did not take Shrien's DNA to check this so IMO it appears he has no proof that it was fluid belonging to him and, in fact, that there was any fluid inside Anni. Dewani could have just made that up. Therefore, it seems that Dewani has no evidence that they had had sex.

That's right, there is no proof about seminal fluid, it's just SD talking out of his hat because at this point, the Hindocha's didn't know he was gay, so he had to drive it home that he was having sexual relations with Anni.

SD appears very cool, calm and collected during this meeting, trying to control it too much, finding out information, worried about what Anni said and trying to excuse anything he thinks is incriminating. JMO
