Quick info on George Papadopolous...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Papadopoulos_(policy_adviser)

Papadopolous admitted to lying about meetings with Russians and emails to Russians to the FBI on January 27, 2017. (live reporting on CNN with John Berman and Poppy Harlow)

edited for give clarity---he lied to the FEDS on Jan. 27 about meetings and emails......just in case this was not clear.

Papadopolous was arrested July 22 and interviewed to provide information. Manafort raid was on July 26.

I am curious to know what info GP provided and since this was a plea deal, what were the original charges? GP tried to set up a meeting between Russians and campaign advisors.

George Papadopolous, who joined the Trump team in spring 2016 as an energy and foreign policy expert, communicated with a "campaign supervisor" during the campaign about his attempts to arrange a meeting with the Russians to discuss U.S.-Russia ties during a Trump presidency, according to court documents.

The supervisor, who was not named in the documents, told him, "Great work."

He relayed to the superviser that during his communications with Russian contacts, the Russians said they had "dirt" on Hillary Clinton and thousands of emails.
Papadopoulos lied to the FBI about the timing and nature of the communications, officials said.

According to CNN reporter, Papadopolous deleted his Facebook page that had communications with Russians after he met with FBI on Jan. 27. Then, he opened a new one. Did he not think that they could get access to his social media? Hubris and ignorance? It is good he pled guilty as I am sure that he would have dug himself a deeper grave if he kept talking and tried to take this to trial. Man, oh, man.

He may be rich and powerful but we have seen this same thinking and actions time and time again with criminals here at WS.

there was something very complicated about pardons

it was like they are useless if they are about criminal stuff or something like that

this is not like a murder

but I can still go to prison right if the jury says guilty correct??

I hope Rachel does not party too much before airtime!!

She has worked so hard on this , and it has been. like for so many of us, such a complicated criminal labyrinth of greed it mindboggles

IMo at the end of the day it goes to severe pathology how much money/ power does one really need??

Serious mental stuff for these criminals --it seems like it a rush for these criminals more than anything else moo

Word to any other people called before Mueller and FBI---- be honest to a fault. The FBI and, now, Mueller don't fool around. I wonder if anyone else has pled guilty.

Here's the Manafort/Gates link to the current adminstration and collusion:

Who are Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, the Trump associates charged in the FBI’s Russia investigation?

In July, as Manafort and Gates were working for Trump, Trump staffers altered the Republican party’s platform to weaken support for Ukraine. A promise of “lethal defensive weapons” to protect Ukraine was eliminated, and in its place was only a vow of “appropriate assistance to the armed forces of Ukraine.” Russia and Ukraine are involved in a civil war over the territory of Crimea, which was invaded by Russian troops in recent years.

I was thinking the same thing. Don't we all know by know everything on the internet is forever?

I am very interested in hearing about plea deals. I wonder what the best "offer" will be?
