haha could be but one would have to be literally an idiot to lie to the FBI when they have access to everything.

Like I said there is lying that folks do all the time for advancement/ because they can/ because no one fact checks and then there is lying to someone (FBI) who has access to your bank, real estate, phone, and social media records AND put you in prison FOR lying to them:).

The only reason one would lie to the FBI is IF they were really an idiot OR they felt like they had some sort of protection.

I'm really into true crime & am still often amazed by how many cons out there think their smarter than anyone else. I can see that they can't get away with it but they can't see it.

BTW If POP was lying for a purpose to avoid being caught in a bigger crime, what could that crime be?

Excellent question.

So here's the deal. Trump can call Putin every single day if he wants to. Nothing inherently wrong with that. They can meet all they want, nothing inherently wrong with that either. Both scenarios within the proper channels are perfectly fine.

BUT what they meet for and what they discuss can be a problem, lets say that Trump or his administration called to talk about hacking emails or vis versa to help win the election, or what propaganda (which Facebook, Twitter and I believe Reddit have admitted to bots/advertising etc paid for by Russia to cause divisions in the USA) to release in order to target or interfere with the elections, then that's a problem. An illegal problem. A big crime to use your words.

And that's what this investigation is about. Why did Russia want to set up back door meetings? Why reach out to "low level" people in the administration?

Why not just pick up the phone and call Trump and say "hey we want better relations" because there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing that.

Back door meetings however are a problem because it seemingly means someone on one side or the other is trying to hide something. What is it? Is it hacking the DNC emails? Is it getting information to release propaganda? Is it getting voter information? Demographics?

ETA - We don't know that information. We know this guy lied to the FBI and we know the FBI has more investigating to do. What will come of that we don't know yet.

Even if what he tried to do happened, what crime would he have committed. I have not seen anywhere that this guy was smart enough to get a lawyer.

Ex-Trump adviser’s guilty plea could rattle White House
Eric Tucker and Chad Day, Associated Press

Washington — President Donald Trump dismissed George Papadopoulos as a “liar” and a mere campaign volunteer, but newly unsealed court papers outline the former adviser’s frequent contacts with senior officials and with foreign nationals who promised access to the highest levels of the Russian government.

They also hint at more headaches for the White House and former campaign officials. Papadopoulos is now cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller as he investigates possible coordination between Russia and Trump’s 2016 White House campaign.

Records made public Monday in Papadopoulos’ case list a gaggle of people who were in touch with him during the campaign but only with such identifiers as “Campaign Supervisor,” “Senior Policy Advisor” and “High-Ranking Campaign Official.” Two of the unnamed campaign officials referenced are in fact former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates. Both were charged with financial crimes in an indictment unsealed Monday...

Well, bless his presidential heart...Trump, according to Vanity Fair and The Hill, is blaming Jared for the decisions that he made which resulted in the Mueller probe.... ( after all, presidents don't make decisions, they just reserve the right to blame whoever they want and go on unscathed by the consequences of those decisions.) JMO

COdy here it is !!

"YOU CAN’T GO ANY LOWER”

Until now, Robert Mueller has haunted Donald Trump’s White House as a hovering, mostly unseen menace. But by securing indictments of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, and a surprise guilty pleafrom foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos,Mueller announced loudly that the Russia investigation poses an existential threat to the president. “Here’s what Manafort’s indictment tells me: Mueller is going to go over every financial dealing of Jared Kushner and the Trump Organization,” said former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg. “Trump is at 33 percent in Gallup. You can’t go any lower. He’s ****ed.”

Good human interest story about Michael Flynn. My guess for the next indictee.

President Trump's son confirmed his father did tell former FBI Director James Comey he hoped the investigation into his former national security adviser Mike Flynn would end, just days after the president's lawyer denied Trump "directed or suggested" Comey kill the probe.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/d...flynn-investigation-would-end/article/2625607

---
Bwt- that was a very interesting article on Flynn - he is not a man of means like so many in the administration and it is perhaps insightful as to the administration's trying to protect him, too? The firing of Comey is the very thing that dominoed into the Mueller investigation as we know, now.

I am reminded of the adage, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Whether low or high seems more than several thought they were immune from the law...

You know IMO what is the most breathtaking part of the confession , to me, these were active and frequent efforts ( with alternative locations reviewed ) for our nations worst enemy to meet face to face in covert and deviant manner.

If that is not collusion I have no idea what is?

If one looks at the whole picture - he lied at first. And then again.

It would certainly be more than logical that when they arrested him, by that time they had obtained the actual emails between the senoir campain people , the hard to spell name, and the operatives in Russia.

FBI DId you have contact with Blue via email.

me no

again nest visit ! DId you have contact with Blue via email.

me: no

Months later I am arrested.at Dulles airport.

Obviously they had info on what had been going on PROVABLE

Its the FBI they get emails from everyone .

After my arrest

DId you have contact with Blue via email.

me no

They open a file and present with all my emails to everyone.

They kindly say -- you have 15 minutes to decide if you are going to continue to commit felonies with the FBI ..

15 min later I have to decided to cooperate.

FBI great -- here is what qualifies as cooperating . We will not charge you today -- you will do what we need you to do .

You will wear wires, you will make contact with whomever , when we tell you to do so,

Are you ready to document your willingness to do such in exchange for a possible reduction in your sentencing on felony charges,

He got what could have been a lengthy sentence into something that might be probation to 6 months

He was not formally charged for over quarter of year -- that's a heck of alot of cooperating (!) getting them exactly what they wanted to know

They have the emails -- they know who senior campaign officials were i, by name , n the email chains - obviously .

When you read his confession the FBI is not gonna let him make up stuff - nor are they in there documentation not going to put anything in there that he both did not confess to , and that they cant confirm

I tell them i like apples

great

they are not gonna put in the charging documents he said he liked apples

they know that is true they have the email where i said i like apples

Everyone else in this had better quit denying stuff -- catch on - all of em Mueller and his 16 colleagues know (and can prove ) that these people were aware (for a long period of time ) of attempts for a face to face between the two.

They know and can prove in a court of law that these top folks were encouraging that hard to spell continues , on there behalf to make it happen.

It was the same thing with JR -- lie lie lie and then gets sent his email chain, that authorities have -- it ought to be a lightbulb moment for anyone . Caught.

Then sticks with leaving out of his supposed truth now that there were 6 other people in the meeting .

same thing I did not rob the bank

click play

is that you in bank with a gun ??

But, everyone but one person , is doing what they know they had better be doing . Shut up

and quit lying to the FBI.

We all have learned , in concrete terms , that in and of itself is a felony.

We all have learned in the last 24 hours that Mueller will charge you with that .

And hey if any of this gang were clueless about the abovementioned 72 hours ago -- its lightbulb time again.

When I became addicted to this corruption , (FLynn immunity seeking)

I learned that anyone has a very limited time frame to cooperate. If I already have proof that I emailed i like apples

and another crook comes in and asks me to give you a lesser sentence cause yes he did email he liked apples -- I don't need you .

I am not giving two people leniency for information I already have and can prove.

Hard name to spell IMO gave them a treasure chest of provable , in a court of law, info.

Somewhere in here all the rest of them just should shut up - be aware that you have some serious felony time coming .

It is complete IMO idiot stuff , to keep lying to them

Caught-- like Watergate folks -- you reach an end of the highway --- its over -- the road ends don't step on the gas to make impact more severe

jeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz

a PS -- in the arrest stuff I saw that place something Snacheles or something ---- that is the Jarad setting up a back channel clandestine meeting stuff on that remote island

found it this place Seychelles

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/blackwater-founder-held-secret-seychelles-meeting-to-establish-trump-putin-back-channel/2017/04/03/95908a08-1648-11e7-ada0-1489b735b3a3_story.html?utm_term=.ecb4e6b21e00

I do think tho that all the rest of them (except three who will remain unnamed-- know this and are , behind the scenes working on getting pleas -- getting there financial things in order preparing their families etc etc

dozens in Watergate and Iran Contra were incarcerated -- that is a historic fact !

Its over....................................................thank god

Pop's plea statement is damning as all get out. I don't understand how people can read that after all that's been said and done and STILL try to claim some "deep state" conspiracy garbage.

Hi yo

me either the only conclusion I could come up with were

no one read it completely

and/or are not looking at it as what it is

it is a confession -- that's all it is!

IMO Mueller has to have all the emails that went on for months with the campaigns top people encouraging that he continue to plan on figuring out a time and place to arrange a sneaky face to face meeting with Donald Trump?

The dude already lied to them twice. The notion that Mueller does not have concrete proof that what he is confessing to is not true makes no sense at all!!

It pretty simple actually!

IMO

All behavior has motivation.

All along Putins core motivation to place Trump in the oval office is simple.

MONEY!

Yep, that's it.

Obama sanctioned Putin for Afghanistan stuff.

Seriously sanctioned them

Apr 21, 2015 - Sanctions will cost Russia more than $100billion. by Ivana ... President Vladimir Putin has tried to shrug off the the impact of Western sanctions.

Russian sanctions have cost Exxon over $1 billion - Business Insider

US sanctions have taken a big bite out of Russia's economy

IMO That's why Tillerson was appointed. He was a CEO with no government experience at all -- the guy has no clue about the job. But he knows a lot about Exxon in Russia .

In fact all his pals at Exxon lost billions when the sanctions went active..

The first thing they did when they got in the white was to try and erase the sanctions. No One knew what they were doing and it did not happen.

In fact they tried to do it the first week they were in the white house!!

TRUMP WHITE HOUSE MADE SECRET EFFORTS TO REMOVE RUSSIA SANCTIONS

Former officials say that the Trump administration moved quickly in January to develop plans to lift sanctions on Russia.

Its money-- if Trump will ease the sanctions if I get him in , and it costs me 789 million bucks to do so -- I win cause I am losing billions and billions under the sanctions.

So now what they are doing - behind the scenes is the following

OCTOBER 26, 2017, 7:26 PM:

State Department Scraps Sanctions Office.

Humm hummm who heads the State Dept ? Does it start with T!!!

It gets better -- a long time ago they kept trying!!

White House trying to block bill that would tighten Russian sanctions: Report

gets better

Washington is sleezy! COngress has known for ages what happened. imo

But after everything started crumbling with FLynn , and they were caught congress got scared -- cause they knew what they were trying to do (cut sanctions for Putin).

So congress passed a thing that would not allow him to do it -- casue the sanctions agenda had started to come out.

It’s official: Congress has handcuffed Donald Trump on Russia

it

It is all about the Magnitsky Act sanctions --Putin wants those gone.

Ah ha

he he he he he he he the jams get bigger!!

If he pardons anyone they can not take the fifth!!!!

then if go under oath and lie they still have a visit in a place with bars in front of the exit for perjury

What is that saying about rocks and hard places and stuff like that !!!

two kinds preemptive pardons and then the other

so if he tried preemptive they would have to testify about him honestly or go to prison.

But where I am confused now is Nixon stuff -- he was pardoned but he was not impeached - so how did he get pardoned ??

or could it be that there was noone else to prosecute by the time he knew his tushie was history??

ok I think! He can do a regular pardon after they are found guilty , so doesn't that mean that Ford did a preemptive one>

he he he

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardon

I am trying but not getting far! Can any of you find the name of the guy who is at this point prosecuting Manafort - it is not mueler but we should check him out !!
