Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.

Are-other-mueller-indictments-hiding-in-plain-sight??

Experts are debating what to make of several sealed cases on the D.C. federal court docket between ex-Trump adviser George Papadopoulos’ guilty plea and the indictment weeks later of former campaign manager Paul Manafort and his assistant Rick Gates.

Papadopoulos pleaded guilty Oct. 5 to lying to the FBI, and there appear to be at least four currently sealed cases on the docket between then and the Oct. 27 indictment of Manafort and Gates for money laundering and related crimes involving pre-2016 Ukrainian political work.

Pop's plea statement is damning as all get out. I don't understand how people can read that after all that's been said and done and STILL try to claim some "deep state" conspiracy garbage.

I think that there are a couple of "reasons" why some people will not accept the facts. One is blind political allegiance. Perhaps they see that the only choice they have is to support their political party, no matter what transpires within the party, even to the point that the leaders may sell out the very democracy upon which the political system is based.

Perhaps another "reason" is that some people have a limited understanding of what is being revealed to them. They don't understand that political interference by a foreign power has such deep implications for their country. Russia is not an ally, and even if it was, the US can never put itself into a position where it can be directed, through back room dealings, secret agenda, blackmail and extortion, by a foreign power.

If the Russian interference in the election, and the back room dealings are not exposed and prosecuted, then the liberty of the US is over.

Top Trump Campaign Aide Clovis Spoke to Mueller Team, Grand Jury
by Ken Dilanian and Mike Memoli

WASHINGTON — Sam Clovis, the former top Trump campaign official who supervised a man now cooperating with the FBI's Russia investigation, was questioned last week by special counsel Robert Mueller's team and testified before the investigating grand jury, a person with first-hand knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

Clovis, who is President Donald Trump's pick to be the Department of Agriculture's chief scientist, could not be reached for comment. His lawyer, Victoria Toensing, would neither confirm nor deny his interactions with the Mueller team.

"I'm not going to get into that," she said in an interview.

George Papadopoulos was arrested in July and began cooperating with agents, records show — disclosing his interactions with a professor and other Russians whom the FBI suggested in court documents may have been working for Russian intelligence agencies. He pleaded guilty to making false statements on Oct 5...

In other criminal news ! Paul Manaforts attorney had to have some cups of coffee with Mueller as well which translated to Manafort had to change all his attorneys recently ! Casue he is now a witness in a felony case ,

The consensus in DC is there without a doubt , there are more blockbusters in the pipeline. As educated folks have read his confession thoroughly , that the term proactive does frankly mean that he had , for a quarter of a year , been going around wired and chit and chatting with all these people.

They explain that since he was arrested in JUly while the plea was not done until Oct 5 indicates that he was a very busy man during that quarter of a year!

The sentencing options he faces are also congruent with a you wash my hands my yours -- if you get us serious proof we will reduce your risks of spending time behind behind bars for the criminal offenses you have committed

They don't arrest people and charge em a quarter of year later

ALso of note is the arrest came the morning after the no knock FBI raid!

Mullers ability to keep his arrest under raps for so long is also indicative of flipping a witness.

If others in the area knew he had been taken into custody that day no one would talk to him. In addition , Muellers ability to keep Mondays bombshell out of the public arena also supports the wire stuff -- if it got out people might start doing stuff to protect themselves .

It also is an amazing way to make all the others completely insane (!) --none of them have any clue who , for that three months , he was taping, emailing with etc etc!

The drip drip of info is also classic organized crime prosecution techniques (white collar stuff)

in other news ! Mr Pence (who retained an attorney months and months ago )has quite a bit of gray hair producing criminal concerns on his plate .

We all remember that when Mrs Yates paid the oval office a visit to tell them that Flynn was compromised , and they did nothing for 18 days -- that is a criminal charge - that is a national security threat (an agent for our biggest enemy in the top position is real problem) , a crime, and prosecutable.

This is a pretty comprehensive timeline of events. Searched the thread to see if it was already posted and didn't see this, so apologies if this is a repeat.

Skype exchanges, Facebook messages, emails ...

USA TODAY (posted 5 hours ago)

Timeline: How Papadopoulos tried to connect Team Trump with Russia

This one sums up the gist of it all, imo.

April 18, 2016

The Professor emailed Papadopoulos, stating that he had a “long conversation in Moscow with my dear friend [“Russian MFA Connection”] …about a possible meeting between the two of you. [“Russian MFA Connection”] is ready to meet with you in London (or USA or Moscow). I am putting the two of you in touch to discuss when and where this potential meeting can actually take place.”

Russian MFA Connection was copied on the email.

Papadopoulos responded by offering to “try and come to Moscow” and setting up a Skype call with the Russian MFA Connection for 3:00 p.m. “Moscow time.”

Over the next several weeks: Papadopoulos and the Russian MFA Connection had multiple conversations over Skype and email about setting “the groundwork” for a “potential” meeting between the campaign and Russian government officials.

MSNBC: Clovis removes his name from consideration for Agriculture Department position.

Clovis, Linked to Mueller Probe, Withdraws Nomination for USDA Top Scientist Post
by Adam Edelman

Sam Clovis, a former top Trump campaign official who supervised a man now cooperating with the FBI's Russia investigation, has withdrawn his name from consideration as the president’s pick to be the Department of Agriculture’s chief scientist.

Clovis’ withdrawal came just days after NBC News reported he had been questioned last week by special counsel Robert Mueller's team and testified before the investigating grand jury.

In a letter addressed to President Donald Trump dated Nov. 1, Clovis said “the political climate inside Washington has made it impossible for me to receive balanced and fair consideration for this position.” ...

Ex-Trump campaign official withdraws nom for Ag post
Ken Thomas, Associated Press

Washington — A former Trump campaign official linked to the Russia investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller has withdrawn his nomination as the Agriculture Department’s chief scientist.

Sam Clovis, a former Trump campaign national co-chairman and chief policy adviser, wrote in a letter Thursday to President Donald Trump that he does “not want to be a distraction or a negative influence.”

Questions had been raised about Clovis’ qualifications for the administration post. He is a self-described skeptic of climate change.

Republicans were preparing to hold a hearing on his nomination next week. But it was revealed this week that Clovis had communications with George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser who has admitted to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian intermediaries last year...

Without a doubt. IMO, he would've been lumped with Manafort on Monday if he had stayed silent.

Apparently Sam Clovis has a BA in Political Science and that qualifies him to be a "chief scientist". We have a surgeon as HUD secretary, a thrice married woman as ambassador to the Vatican, an Amway millionairess as Sec. of Education...and a president that is hugely intelligent. And we wonder why things aren't going so well.

Silly me! I thought Clovis was tapped to lead US Department of Agriculture because of his hearty appetite :D

Sessions under renewed scrutiny on Capitol Hill
Attorney general rejected Putin-Trump meeting

By MANU RAJU , EVAN PEREZ AND MARSHALL COHEN , CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Attorney General Jeff Sessions is once again under scrutiny on Capitol Hill regarding his candor about Russia and the Trump campaign amid revelations that he rejected a suggestion to convene a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump last year.

According to court filings unsealed this week, Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos suggested at a March 2016 meeting that he could use his connections to set up a meeting between Putin and Trump with the then-GOP candidate's national security team. An Instagram picture on Trump's account shows Sessions attended the meeting at which Papadopoulos made the suggestion...
