I will be happy to discuss him once he is further interviewed and his name starts being associated with an indictment. Right now, we know about as much of Podesta involvement as we do about Clovis and others. Those folks aren't getting a lot of air time here either. Yes, some might mention them but mostly it is about the indictees and the Carter Page who is openly talking about his meetings with Congress and his connections or lack of connection with the Russians on the part of the campaign.

While Manafort and Gates have not been indicted in relation to the Russia campaign investigation per se, they were supervisors in the campaign.

The "But, what about....." is probably why so many who have been posting here are remarking. In my mind, as soon as more comes out about Podesta and it is clear he is a subject or target, he would appear in my posts. I happen to be an equal opportunity despiser of people who commit crimes that undermine any government and/or election.

The FARA stuff is solely about trying to hide involvement with those folks -- the FARA violations are solely about that!!

The media IMO have not done a good job in exploring the meaning to the FARA charges !!

He was unpaid and free to interject himself whenever & wherever he wanted. jmo

Payment can take many shapes. Somehow he gets to fly all over -- while funding for that has yet to be revealed .

He was not declared a volunteer Trump introduced him to the world as an appointment.

Appointments are paid positions

Trump doesn't remember this so it didn't happen.

Or if it did happen it was a slap-dash meeting thrown together because no one on the campaign could be bothered to vet the participants.

So while some of you feel free to speculate about the "biggest crime story of the year," there sure is not much speculation in this topic on the Podestas. Why not? Is he the wrong political party, and not the POTUS that you don't like, who won the election fairly?

You are free to start a thread to discuss those crimes, charges, and indictments.

Big mistake. In their rush to add foreign policy "experts" the campaign didn't check out his credentials.

If trues that's careless, troubling, dangerous. We should expect more from our government.

I think the deal is why did so many people lie for so long and so often and in such stupid ways about interacting with top russian spies?

There certainly is nothing wrong with a meeting -- but IMO one must be curious as to why so many people have put themselves facing serious jail time for wanting to have a cheeseburger and chat about the weather??

I cant be meeting people as the CEO of GM if I have not been hired to be the CEo !

Although much of this curious interaction with an enemy of our country continued after inauguration , if I am understanding this correctly - I think so much of this contact that has been so lied about might be because it was during the campaign??

Why would everyone be denying , at personal peril about an innocent meeting ??

ANy ideas??

that is a good point - we are going to have to wait and see... it feels as if stuff is rolling now -- there were a lot of heavy hitters behind closed doors at the congress investigations this past week

Conjecture is fine, but it's not evidence. I not sure there is that much lying going on. Lying is not all black and white. Example: Sessions is asked if he is aware of contacts (questionablel) between Russians & the campaign. He answers no. Later Carter Paige says he mentioned to Sesions he was giving a speech in Russia. THe media screams LIES. To me this is no lie. The media likes to stir the pot.

I think Trump is a buffoon. However, I don't believe in slandering others just to bring him down.

Funnily enough, most articles from back then introducing the team remarked on his lack of experience and the use of college level Model UN as his experience. It wasn't even that he lied or his reds weren't available. They were and they had to know. He was on Ben Carson's team prior to being Trump's advisor.

Again, there is no collusion just because people have met or attempt to meet. The collusion would apply if they met to effect the outcome of the election. I'm open to this as a possibility, but there is no evidence of this now. This is what Mueller was appointed for.

The illegal materials do not have to change hands in order for there to be charges brought. You are right collusion is not a charge but conspiracy to commit a felony is or conspiracy to ________ is. This is why they don't have to have completed a deal because they will be charged with conspiracy. If someone says I can get ________ (illegal goods from a foreign government), anyone with knowledge of the attempt, including those who encouraged or aided may face charges.

Correct, but no evidence of this yet.

Do you think that Pence has any of this connected to him? I don't necessarily like his politics, but, I wouldn't have seen that comin'.

I'm not sure - my point was only that the WH will play games no matter who is indicted or charged. Like suddenly we'll hear Sessions played no role in Trump's election campaign, he just hung around for photo ops or something.

Gotcha and agree.

I think the photo op comment was directed at me. Sarcasm.

Pence is not the subject of this thread nor is it appropriate to question if he is involved.

So the man who would resume the Presidency if Trump resigns, is impeached etc etc is not appropriate to discuss?? Would seem to be a very appropriate topic if the indictments keep on coming

Then lets critique the speaker because if Trump is impeached & then Pence is impeached then the speaker is next.
