Great post Kaen. The investigation seems to be find some potential bad actors. Flynn has definitely made some questionable moves (and it appears he made some illegal moves) as a person who served the campaign and, ultimately, the president. The fact that his legal team is severing from other legal teams does point toward the idea that his lawyers understand that their main duty is to their client. If I were Flynn (glad I am not), I would be looking toward saving my son more than any other connection. Flynn's family and community have been in his corner. He seems like a man who would put his family before self. I think he already has.
It seems to me that Mueller and his team are working through this process in professional and thorough ways. With the increase in non-disclosure issues for many in president's sphere and the past indictments, I believe we will get what was asked for---some sunlight on any connections between this campaign, these actors in the campaign, and the Russian interference in the election.
I would rather pay for an investigation than keeping corruption and collusion from the people. Heck, there have been people traveling on the taxpayer's dime needlessly and money paid out to cover up harassment on our dime. This action, at the very least, is focused on keeping the country safe from treason and influence born from financial profit desires.
America is all about the freedom, democratic rule of law, and ensuring that our country sustains over the long haul. Anyone running afoul of our laws deserves to be in jail for crimes they commit.
They still have not found anything in their Trump witch hunt? It is time to start looking at how much this long, drawn out investigation is costing the taxpayers. And while we are at it, who is this Mueller accountable to, no one? Who is Mueller's check and balance to make sure he is not possibly covering up his own crimes, or those crimes of his own political cronies? Why should we just trust him?

Who are Mueller's political cronies? Mueller is a Republican, appointed by another Republican.
Was anyone worried about how much 7 investigations into Benghazi cost taxpayers? As investigations go, this is not 'long and drawn out'. Mueller was appointed in May; Watergate took 2 years.
Mueller is following the evidence wherever that leads and I do believe Congress is the check and balance.
It matters more that we don't ever experience an election interference like 2016 again, and get to the bottom of what happened. This ain't no witch hunt, it is a special council appointed by the president's cabinet, and Mueller was overwhelmingly approved by congress.

You forgot that :1. There is no evidence the results of the election would have changed.
2. This investigation seemed to be about everything else but Russian interference in our election. It is too open ended, hence a witch hunt designed to find anything to "get their intended target" as revenge for the Democrat election loss, where the American people made their choice for President.
BBMIt was revealed Monday that George Papadopoulos, a former Trump foreign policy adviser, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia.
The path from his first conversations with a professor he believed could connect him to Russian government officials to eventual arrest spanned more than a year. Papadopoulos wanted to broker a foreign policy trip, where Russian officials could meet with members of the campaign and, possibly, then-candidate Donald Trump.
Uranium's crimes have been debunked over and over3. We don't hear anything, when the leads come up with "favored people" instead of the intended target. Is Mueller going after his own political cronies, when the evidence points their way? Even in this thread, 90% of the thread is about getting Trump, with very little interest in the Podestas or Hillary's uranium crimes. Let's stop pretending you all want a fair investigation. We all know that is not the case.

1. We absolutely don't know that.
2. This investigation began way before the election.
3. Was the firing of Comey obstruction of justice to cover up an increasingly wider net of collusion with a foreign adversary to the benefit of a presidential candidate? The fact that Flynn's legal counsel has cut ties with the WH legal counsel indicates the investigation is moving up the chain of command.
There's an absolute reason for three separate branches of government. And by all accounts, the special counsel has the full backing of a bipartisan congress that well understands the gravity.
Do I have theories? Absolutely. And it has little to do with whether or not one is a conservative or liberal, democrat or republican or independent.

The thread title/topic of this discussion is Special Counsel Issues 1st Indictments. 100% of discussion on this thread should be limited to the Mueller investigation into (possible) Russian interference in our 2016 election. Topics you mention have nothing to do with Mueller's investigation, so that is why they are not being discussed here, nor should they be.
Tricia has been very generous in allowing this high-profile, albeit political, case to be discussed because it is a major (possible) criminal investigation. TOS requires adherence to the title topic.
