Thank you. This is a very important free speech issue. I received a timeout for saying that boycotts are better public expression than pitchforks and torches. Somehow the mods felt that this was pointed at Laviolette, as in encouraging people to boycott her.
It's the first time I have ever been banned anywhere and I was very surprised. What could be more important than discussing the power of the internet on the internet? Right now is when we're deciding what we're going to let the web be used for and if we can't have public discussions about these matters, then it is left to our elected officials.
If you think they are responsive to public opinion, think gun control. We need the internet not only to decide what to believe, but to organize and use our power as voters and consumers for the issues we care about.
Organ donation is an issue which should be talked about openly. Same with animal cruelty. Open public discussion, SUNLIGHT, is what keeps a society healthy and honest.
