This witness isn't saying anything meaningful to me. She actually is making it hard for me to pay attention. Quit blinking already.

Brad and the Judge look like they are falling asleep too!! Not sure we are learning anything useful from this witness.

Yes I heard that and initially I was startled too..but then thought about it abit...I think the $$ was priority because she had NONE..and couldnt afford to do anything regarding providing for the kids, moving, leaving for Canada..She felt trapped financially..Think that is how she meant it...

Just as aside...This witness brought back memories for me as I went trhu same thing with my friend..and even to having her say" He's Breaking Me" and "Dont know How much More I an Fight this".....and I too hugged and tried to support her emotionally....It really is an aweful thing to experience with a close friend

She *had* to have money to support and care for the children. I heard that testimony too but feel that the kids were always her first priority and she knew she had to have money to move and to care for them.

Ignore is your friend.

Currently, this is the first witness that I've seen actually look rattled in the trial.

I'm not sure *evidence*, other than even Brad saying 'she never ran alone', CC saying 'she never ran from home', 'never ran without her keys', etc.

Listening to this testimony right now, and the 'accidents' elder child had. I hope it's okay to say it this way??? There must have been such trauma ongoing inside that household. 'Accidents' are such a strong sign of extreme stress inside the household. :( Poor kids.

My son had "accidents". Turns out to be he had a thin uriethrea. Surgury fixed it. I too had the same problem when I was little too. Just not confident the accidents are directly tied to the stress in the home. It seems, for the most part, BC & NC were passive aggressive and operated on a frequency higher than the kids level. IMHO.

I agree, but these were mentioned to be both wetting & messing after having been potty trained for 2 plus years of non-accidents. :( Accidents that concerned Nancy. One of my children was a sound sleeper, and one of my grandchildren is still wearing a night-time diaper. Things like that aren't concerning IMO, when they aren't starting up again after a couple years of being fully trained. JMO

IIRC, Nancy's parents paid for Nancy's vacation... gas to and from, plus accommodations, etc. That is what Nancy Rentz indicated when she testified so I don't think she went on vacay on his dollar.

I agree. She looked really confused a minute ago.

I agree. She looked really confused a minute ago.

Additionally, I think she wears contacts and they must be giving her a fit. She is definitely having trouble with her eyes.

Something is wrong with her eyes.. the witness.. like she didnt get any sleep last night.. maybe worried about testifying and nervous.. My eyes feel like they are burning like that when I don't sleep well. I feel bad for her. She seems too tired.

Did I hear this right, that BC's attys posted a picture on a web site that showed she did not have the necklace on, but in fact she DID have it on???

Was the picture doctored???

She sure did. Reason? Def attempting to trap her into saying she corroborated her story with othe affidavits to ensure they all sounded the same. She smartly let him know that was NOT the case.

Sorry if this is a dumb question... but I haven't followed this case too closely... they keep asking all the witnesses about her wearing this necklace a lot. what's the big deal with the necklace?

I just mentioned her eyes as well. I am beginning to feel for her too, she doesn't have the same sense of security that most of the other friends have had while testifying.
Now a brief re-cross, one question about the picture.

The picture posted on Kurtz & Bloom's website of Nancy not wearing her necklace was taken at Jennifer's daughter's birthday party.

Nancy WAS actually wearing her necklace that day!

Jennifer prepared a memo and disk to be sent over to show more pictures taken that day. (or something like that, I really was trying to pay attention but didn't catch it all. sorry!)

I missed that, left the computer for a moment. Hope someone can answer your question.

One thing I've noticed is that a lot of the pictures taken without the necklace seem to be older, taken before it was purchased probably.
