I don't know, but hope it all comes out with the right type of counseling and trust. I noticed how nervous JP got that they were even getting a counselor.

Of course he doesn't. JP is scared you know what about what his sons are going to be revealing. I hope and pray that they can get the boys to trust the counselor and provide enough damning evidence to make sure JP never again gets custody of his sons.

I don't have much faith that Susan will ever be found or that Josh will face justice for the more than likely murder of Susan. But at the very least I hope that Josh is never allowed to get his meat hooks into his sons and continue the horrendous cycle within the Powell family.

Really! The counselor issue was quite a bone of contention, wasn't it? There's just one more brick piled on top of him that he needs to deal with. What in the world are the kids going to say? I wonder, if after all this time, they could contribute much explanation to Susan's disappearance. Not an expert in that area at all. But surely they can speak to what it was like to live at SP's house.

Even getting the mail must be difficult now. He's waiting for a formal invitation from the FBI or WVCPD to come speak with them, at no expense to him. Lol. Sorry, it's just that for once, he's getting exactly what he asked for.

:boohoo:

I have to disagree. I am feeling increasingly optimistic that they are going to solve this case. These guys are just too damn stupid to get away with murder. And there are too many people who care, good strong people with real skills who are working hard to solve this case. My faith is with them. She's coming home.

I agree. I don't know if they will ever find her, but they will arrest for this one. They/he has just made too many mistakes. Some of them major ones. (Not calling her in sick and cancelling the babysitter for one, keeping the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 in the house for another. And I am sure there are many we don't even know about... for instance what was that still wet spot in the living room?)

LOL. I don't think anybody does. Except maybe the warbler himself. Maybe his jailers are letting him sing all the inmates to sleep at night. Could that be considered cruel and inhumane punishment?

Ha! It depends on what the inmates are in jail for.:D

I think the singer has an ugly voice and creepy words.

I don't think SP ever thought they would come after him and take his personal files. Since he is one of 'conquest', this may sound very sick because it is, but he could very well have photos of Susan after she died IF he saw the body. They may just find something in all that junk that reveals what happened to her -- and their part in it.

Just saw this article:

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...uck-Coxs-sister-released-in-custody-case.html

It says the boys got VERY upset in March 2010 (their last visit with the Coxes) when they were told the visit was over. Read the piece. Remind you of anyone else? Zahra Baker. She was staying at a friend's house for a day and when told her 'parents' were there to take her home, she got very angry and ran and hid in the closet and told them "I hate you!" because they were making her go home. And we know what was going on at home. If these boys got THIS upset at going home, something definitely very bad was happening at the Powell House of Horrors to them.

This is from this article at the link above:

"When the other boy, who had been making crafts on the kitchen table heard they were leaving, "he started scrabbling out very aggressively the pictures he made us. He then proceeded to rip them up into little pieces and cry," according to Cox's statement in court documents."

Isn't that revealing? And the younger one held onto his great aunt's arm and wouldn't let go because he didn't want to go.

This was even weirder from the article;

While looking at a book with the boys, there was a picture of a woman in a swimsuit who was swimming, according to court documents. One of the boys pointed to the woman's chest and said, "Mommy and (owie)."

Is he upset because the kids know about Susan's death or is it because of something he or his father were doing to them?

Or they saw JP or/and SP doing something to Susan???

The owwie when they pointed to a women's chest makes me think something happened to Susan's chest and they witnessed it or overheard it being discussed.

I have been thinking along these lines too. I also wonder if SP kept any items that were Susan's from the murder.

I just read back through the posts of the day. As much as I want to know all of the filthy truth of what happened to Susan, I want those precious little boys to come away with whole, healthy minds. To grow up to be psychologically and emotionally stable adults - and some day husbands and fathers. I hope Chuck Cox and his wife are strong enough and the law of the land is strong enough to help them. With that said, it would probably be a good thing if anything these boys say is kept very guarded from our prying eyes and ears. That their pictures from this day forward were sheilded as well. Dear lord hear my prayer! In all my nosey snooping I would never want to harm them.

As I read this- about JP's nervousness about the children and the counselor, I can't help but wonder if one of two (or more) things happened....

IMO

my speculation:

1. whatever "happened" the night Susan disappeared was spontanious, and therefor the children saw something they shouldn't have and they remember specific details...

2. whatever happened the night Susan disappeared was premeditated but he "thought" that the children would be too young or niave to remember anything, but he was wrong, very wrong, and they do remember...

As a result, the boys now know more then he wants them to know, and they are a risk to JP because little kids are honest and they love to talk... I know, because I have a 3 and 5 year old :)

Has anyone seen or heard from Josh since the last hearing?? Wonder he's up to. Does he go see his daddy at all I wonder?

Love this optomistic post. And, officials have counselors who work only with children and have skills to encourage the children to talk and remember things some may think are not important. It may take time, but I do believe the children will be a great help in solving this case. Yeah!

I bet not. The reporters would be all over that (remember the Anthony case)? No phone calls, either. I expect they had time to talk all this through; SP must have known they were coming for him. I'm sure he told JP what to do in that event.

I speculate he said something along these lines - Don't bail me out, don't call me, don't come see me. Otherwise, it will all play into their hand (meaning LE and media). I'll take care of this myself. Make sure you clean all your cr@p up, NOW (except your computer, of course, which LE already has)!

They both went mysteriously quite after the last search of the WA home. I really don't think it's so much that they are listening to their lawyer, they're all just boxed into a corner (and JP knows it), gritting their teeth and hunkering down, waiting for the next shoe to fall. Finally, and too late, they've learned to keep their mouth shut! That father was just crazy for all the stuff he said.

We probably won't hear much from JP for quite a while, if at all.

Except I think Josh did try to see him on that Monday after he was arrested, but didn't have an appointment and was turned away.

I think children do remember quite a lot at that age. Remember OJ Simpson's 8 year-old daughter saying she heard "mommy's friend's voice" and "mommy crying" outside during those murders? But we never heard her say she also heard daddy's voice? I always wondered about that but it could have been that at the age of 8, she already knew to be protective of her father. As an adult, I recently read she said she knows that her father killed her mother so I'm guessing she did hear his voice outside that night but was protecting him. Anyway.......I wonder if the oldest son at the age of 6, now has wisened up and will try and protect his father knowing that's the only parent he has left.

But that 'owee' comment sure is haunting. I pictured JP in the bedroom with Susan lying there dead and maybe a red stain on the middle of her chest and asking daddy what happened? And he got nervous and just said, "she got an owee". Oy. How bad is that? And the child probably kept repeating it and repeating it as kids do so JP never let him talk to anyone.

The kids word owwee reminds me of bobo or booboo. That's the term I use with my daughter (4 years old). She uses these words for death as well. She has seen a dead baby bird and she said "the bird has a booboo and he's dead". Each family uses their own term for a hurt of some kind. No doubt the boys saw something or was told something about her by Josh. Gun shot wound? Heart attack?

Was it ever explained about the fans running in the bedroom? TIA

The fans were running in the living room and there was some kind of reddish stain, apparently. I have never heard Josh's explanation, except that he told his sister it must be a juice or koolaid stain. I'm sure LE asked him about it, though. He probably told them Susan must have done it while he was out camping in the middle of the night.
