Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, Is Dead

Larry King Live tonight.
Philippe Cousteau was on Steve Irwin's boat during the fatal encounter, and tried to revive him. He joins Larry along with famed animal experts, and Irwin's longtime friend and manager. Tune in Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.

I just read in the paper that Terri's last call to Steve didn't get through.
They were on opposite sides of Australia on Fathers Day which was the day before and she had tried to ring him to put the kids on to talk...
She did manage to get a text through and said 'the kids send their love'.
:(

I am consoling myself with the fact that at least his family weren't there that day, can you imagine..
Bad enough for Bindi to hear about her Dad's death without having witnessed it.

Look out for Bindi Irwin everyone, she is going to be as big as her Dad.
Australia's first Crocodile Huntress!!!!!

I missed that link.
Sure, honey- I'm happy to pass it along! :blowkiss:

The legacy.com condolence books are first rate, and as you can see, people from all over the world post on them.

Steve's good friend, John Stainton, is on LKL tonight. Get out your tisses, because only the hardest of hearts would not be touched by what has been aired so far.

Stainton started crying a couple of times already. When Larry asked him how Terri was doing, John sad, "A lot worse than me". My heart just aches for them. :(

All day yesterday, I felt as if I'd taken a barb to my heart but today was better .... until watching this now.

No one has said anything about how Steve's dad is doing. Anyone heard?

The shots from past shows are getting me. The shot of Steve getting bit in the Nose by a snake I still remember hearing his saying Crikey that hurt. I never saw the Bird biting his nose.He was a man that cared about Nature. And from what I heard tonight he never got mad at an animal that got him.

I cannot find anything recent but there are some great stories on Bob Irwin and how he and his wife Lynn shaped Steve's love of all animals.

I wanted to share this story, there is a great photo of Steve, Terri and a huge croc.

Narla, they truly were soulmates, so so sad. :(

I have been happy with this thread.
It has showed me how Stever Irwin managed to touch people's lives in such a positive way.
I have really appreciated hearing stories from around the world, telling us Aussies what we already knew
The CROC HUNTER RULED :D
He did good!
Noone can take that away from him and his family.
The couple of people that did bother to bag him here were pretty much ignored and the good remarks kept coming.
Thanks everyone :)
Hi narla... I wanted to add to these words, if you don't mind. :blowkiss:

I have loved coming to WS and reading this thread. I am having a hard time accepting Steve's death and it is pure comfort to read all the wonderful and heartfelt posts.

I have been to a couple of Aussie forums where posts have been made that were downright disgusting and they are still there. That is why I love WS so much. The mods here do an excellent job and 99.9% of the posters are good, caring and loving people.

So a BIG THANKS to all my fellow members of this great site, you have helped me more than you could possibly know. :blowkiss:

Hi Shelly

I don't mind at all :)
Reading this thread has helped me too.

You're right about WS, what a great place!
I couldn't stand to read anything bad said about Steve and luckily I didn't really have to here, the odd couple of posts that were derogatory I just ignored for the most part.

I know. I can't even imagine having to lose a mate like Steve .... SO vibrant and animated, SO full of life, exuding SO much energy and passion with every breath he took; then so suddenly ... absent! My heart breaks just thinking of her pain; imagining she must be trying to put up somewhat of a tough front to be strong for their 2 beautiful children.

My thoughts and prayers are with Steve's family and loved ones. I hope somehow the giant outpouring of affection will somehow help to ease the massive emptiness and heartaches they are undoubtedly experiencing.

Hopefully we can find solace in that Steve gave SO much for the benefit of our planet in his 44 (way too short) years; lived life to the fullest each day, and died doing what he truly loved!

My heart breaks too, noone will ever replace Steve for Terri I don't think.
They were two peas in a pod and just absolutely adored each other.
When he talked of her, he was SO PROUD, his eyes got all misty and you thought he was going to cry lol..too cute.
She is strong, that is one of the things he most admired about her.
I guess it is Bindi who is going to take it the hardest.

They are calling it Australias Diana moment and it is, my whole world pretty much stopped for the day yesterday.
If I wasn't on here talking about it, I was getting together with friends and talking about it, we sort of had our own little wake...:)
