Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, Is Dead

Another Steve Irwin fan here. What a huge loss, the world could use a million more Steve Irwins. It would be a much better place, IMO. RIP mate. :(

'Steve was my soulmate'

His father said the service would be held at 9am (AEST) next Wednesday at the zoo's Crocoseum, which seats 5500 people.

People who wanted to attend would have to make a donation to Irwin's Wildlife Warriors fund to gain admission.

Large television screens will be set up at venues in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast and the event will be broadcast live on TV in Australia, the United States and Asia.

Mrs Irwin said that although larger venues had been suggested, she believed the croc hunter would have wanted it at Australia Zoo.

"I cannot see how a memorial service would work in any other place other than the Crocoseum which he built here at the zoo and of which he was so proud," Mrs Irwin said.

"I would therefore ask that everyone please bear with me in this wish and help me to make this happen."

Still so sad! :(

Don't they mean it will be televised in the park on the day?

I am so disapponited it is at Australia Zoo, it's just too far to go during the school week and the tickets are probably already gone.

So many people are going to miss out on going now.

But Terri says to bear with them and make it happen, so I'll stop whinging.

It's a funny thing but I do not feel the level of sadness at Brockys death. I think because he was older, although 61 is still too young. I lost my Dad at 60 so I definately feel for his kids and Julie. I really don't know, I have accepted his death but cannot accept that Steve is gone. :(

What I loved about Steve was his love for Terri, Bindi and Bob and his absolute love of life and the animal world. He showed such passion and the more I have read these last 10 days the more I have grown to love him.

I truly feel that the world has lost an amazing human being. :(

Awww Narla :blowkiss: I thought of you when I read that. I am so sorry you won't be able to go.

I understand Terri's decision but a part of me feels that there will be so many people like you, who want to go but can't.

I guess we will all have to watch it on tele and support each other here at WS. :)

If you believe in God, he had a purpose for Steve in life and death.
Still can't figure out about the death part yet....
Such a GOOD, WONDERFUL person....
