Chuck Cox would not say "in anticipation of Josh being arrested for the disappearance/kidnapping/murder" in a document trying to get custody of his grand kids if it was not likely and had good evidence to back it up. The police have told him something.

A Washington state court commissioner says he won't decide on the custody of a missing Utah mom's two young boys until after Child Protective Services finishes its investigation.

A lawyer for the state attorney general confirmed that the boys had been placed in foster care.

This is good news, because they are handling this strictly by the books so that SP, or JP have zero loopholes or legal argument. Those children are going to be fine!

URGENT: Chuck Cox (#SusanPowell's dad) has just filed for custody of his grandkids.

LOL this has all been anticipated and planned. SP gets arrested on Thurs and an attorney is ready to file on the kids on Fri? They knew it was coming and this has been carefully coordinated. So when Chuch Cox says "in anticipation of Josh Powell's arrest" I take it seriously.

Somehow I feel they did find something in that grave site. and the plans were put in place and coordinated to make sure the boys were kept safe.

Fellow Seuther's I'm afraid there won't be a big enough closet for all the skeleton's that are going to come out once they both are in jail and other family members start to decompress from all the brainwashing.

I agree, I think they have a lot more evidence concerning Susan and an arrest of Josh is coming. They wanted the kids out of there and the weekend to finish up some stuff.

Wow. It's crazy how fast this is happening.

It does seem strange that they're just arresting Steven today. They've had this for almost a month. I wonder if they've timed it this way to (as some of you have speculated) get their case built against Josh, so that they could get him at roughly the same time.

I wonder how deep this smelly father-son loyalty goes. If one of them could avoid some serious prison time (or maybe, the death penalty) by ratting out the other, would they do it?

If I'm Josh (gross), I'm thinking of the Dad that has been fantasizing about my wife since the day we were married - the dad who has been cuckolding me in front of the media for the past few months - and I'm willing to sell him for an extra pillow in my prison cell.

And don't forget that Steven DESPISES the Mormon church. So, Josh and Susan live in Utah, where divorce laws really favor mothers. In a divorce, Josh would have gotten visitation, in all likelihood. That means that the boys would be raised LDS - by Susan, and Steven's indirect influence over them would be almost completely diluted.

And from an outsider's perspective (an LDS outsider), the first question I'd ask Steven is, "Do you think that part of why you became so disgruntled with the LDS Church was to repress the guilt you feel FROM LOOKING AT CHILD 🤬🤬🤬🤬?"

But I digress.

Anyway, it's not all that far fetched a scenario to think that Josh doesn't go to church Sunday morning, Josh and Susan argue about it for the hundredth time, Susan says something along the lines of, "You know, this just isn't working," Josh calls Dad to whine about it, Dad goes on a diatribe about how THAT #$%!@# MORMON CHURCH DESTROYS FAMILIES, and Josh and Dad decide to do something about it.

Exactly - I agree totally that it could have gone something along those lines. Steven did the same thing to drive a wedge between JP and his mother, IMO.

And yes, IMO Steven had so many transgressions against the LDS beliefs and moral codes that there was no way he could feel a part of that group. Thus he attacked it and wanted no part of it.

MOO.

Another hearing on Susan Powell's boys is scheduled for Wednesday.

Not until Wednesday!!! I hope at least they can get visitation. Those kids need it. :(

Maybe an extended visit from today until Wednesday. :)
They will gradually allow visitation with the children so the children can adapt and have a sound relationship with them. You have to remember if SP and JP stated in public vile things about their mother what did they talk about in front and to those kids? They have to be deprogrammed first.

And there is where the questioning of the boys can come in. A child protection investigation would of course involve finding out if the child was present at the murder of their mother or during the disposal of her body.

Here you go,

I'm going to need that:

In addition to the images of the victims, detectives found images of Steven Powell himself that are "sexual in nature and include images of him nakes, images of his genitals, and images of him masturbating," charging documents state.

I tried to post this thought once and for some reason, the system locked up or my internet went wonky--so forgive me if this is a double post from me...and forgive me if someone already brought this up.

So Steve HANGS ONTO kiddie 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and proof he's a pervy kiddie voyeur and vouyer of Susan during a time he KNOWS law enforcement could potentially have reason to search his house? He couldn't part with it? Couldn't burn it on a camping trip, crack the discs in two and toss it into a highway reststop dumpster. He HUNG ONTO this stuff. With LE in his and his son's life on a chronic basis?

He likes his trophies. can't bear to part with them. Let's hope his penchant for keeping momentos extends to documentation that incriminates both himself and his son in Susan's disappearance.

I haven't had time to read this entire thread, so please accept my apologies if someone has already suggested that Susan Powell was "silenced" because she was going to blow the whistle on her FIL for his ...indiscretions ... with children. I hope that the young Powell brothers were not victims of their grandfather's perversions

I hope and pray that the Cox' are granted custody of their grandsons and that they will soon have closure in this sad saga.

Steve Powell clearly comes across as a serial type A person. We don't have any evidence of the sort but just the few facts we know about his past. Has a deep hate for woman they are objects only and they should have no respect. Hates the Mormon Church which both of these extends way back to his childhood. He is very narcissistic in that he thinks he is untouchable. A person that must have control over every one and everything around him. He places himself as a "God"

Evil as Evil can be and I too think of LB.
