Best news I heard all day!!!!!!

Tick tock, Tick tock, Tick tock, Tick tock.................

Gotta wonder if ole Drew is feeling it yet. I can only hope!

It passed the House today!!!! I'm not sure if it requires another Governor signature, but I don't think so. Even if it does, it passed based on his ammendatory veto, so he would sign it immediately. It should be law instantly.

Arrest any time now....perhaps 6 days at the most in my opinion!
Drew appears in court today on gun charges. Perfect day to arrest him! I say 5 days tops, but today look real good

Gun Charges Against Drew Peterson Dropped, Namesake Law Passes
Chicagoist - Chicago,IL,USA

Gun charges against Drew Peterson stemming from a semi-automatic weapon police seized were dismissed this afternoon after prosecutors refused to cooperate with a judge's ruling.

The judge had ruled that prosecutors had to turn over to the defense all documents they compiled before they arrested Peterson on the gun charge. Attorneys for Bolingbrook's Most Notorious Ex-Husband™ claim the charge was a case of vindictiveness.

Oh no, I was hoping DP would go to jail for something til the hearsay law came into place. GJ, still on this or has it been done?

Sounds like LE has their ducks in a row and per Close's post, an arrest should be imminent or forthcoming! Now that hearsay bill was passed, LE has bigger fish to fry anyway or rather has a BIGGER FRYER for this same fishy suspect.

I'm still holding out hope that an arrest anytime between now and next Tuesday (4 days). Although I am wondering if the Grand Jury will need to meet one last time and I don't remember what day they meet.

Hmmmm....... thinking it was on Thursdays, but I'm not saying that with any certainty. Come on and arrest this guy for cryin' out loud. I want a reason to celebrate, and seeing him arrested would be a good one.

STORY COURTESY CRIME REPORT USA.

Drew Peterson Exposed Author and journalist Derek Armstrong first broke the news from an exclusive source—on a morning radio show in Chicago—that it was likely Will County Judge Richard Schoenstedt would dismiss charges.

Crime Report USA Correspondent Derek Armstrong, Staff Reporter

......................snip........................

An Indictment Still Coming for Savio Homicide

This reporter’s confidential source indicated “charges will come, if not today, then soon.” The source indicated the indictment was only slightly motivated by the new hearsay law that took effect today. The hearsay law may allow the prosecution to present hearsay from witnesses such as Pastor Neil Schori — who indicated he was told by Stacy Peterson that Drew admitted he killed Kathleen Savio.

More Compelling Evidence

“The more compelling evidence,” the source said, “were the transcripts of the property settlement for the Drew Peterson, Kathleen Savio divorce.”

The withdrawal of charges today on the lesser gun charge seems to be a move to protect prosecution documents from the defense.

Like Passion, I was actually hoping he could be held on something too until indictment for murder could be prepared. Mainly because I don't believe those children should be living with (at minimum) a double murderer. I mean if he'd kill their mother, he hasn't the least concern for his children nor is this a safe or suitable home environment. Maybe you or Mysteriew know, where will these children be placed once DP's indicted and arrested? Hopefully, Stacy has family petitioning for custody? JMO

Oh, yeah! I'd like to ad a little for those watching the Stebic case.

Seems old Craig Stebic may POSSIBLY benefit from the new law some are jokingly referring to as the DP law.....oh, wait, I mean.....

Yep! Lady Justice might be a little slow sometimes, but she gets down to business eventually.:behindbar

:woohoo:

(bold mine) Good. That was probably a very wise move, and DP is going up the river anyway. Also, could someone be more explicit re compelling evidence of property settlement? TIA. JMO

So far no one has tried to file to get custody of the kids. Both Kathleen Savio and Stacey Peterson have family around but DrewP has pretty much limited how much they see the kids. I think the aunt that helped raise Stacey has seen the kids once since Stacey went missing. Cass saw the youngest one day when he was riding his bike, but when the child went to her DrewP called LE. All the family has said is that they want to keep all the kids together. DrewP has indicated that if he is incarcerated he will sign the kids over to his older son. (of course that is providing that there is no proof found that his son was involved)

At the time that DrewP and Kathleen divorced the divorce was actually split into two parts. The divorce was granted so that DrewP could marry Stacy but the property settlement was held till later. Kathleen was killed just hours before the property settlement was to be held. Not only would they have been splitting money and property but there was also a chance that Kathleen could have been granted a portion of DrewP's pension.

I don't see why the hearsay bill wouldn't come into this trial too. Allegedly Kathleen sent a letter to the then prosecutors office and she also left papers with her family re her fears that something would happen to her at DrewP's hands.

This is someone who, perhaps due to his LE background has evidently gotten away w bullying not only these women but the families too-and even now denies the children and their relatives contact w eachother. I too think children should be allowed to stay together, but clearly it's LE who should be limiting the childrens' visitation w HIM. What a sorry, miserable excuse of a father who has only ever considered himself. I hope Stacy's family will be emboldened and prompted by the Savio arrest to seek legal steps toward custody. DP is a control freak, and only suggested his son act as guardian not because it is in their best interest but because he believes it is the best way to continue controlling these children. JMO

O...m...g... Who does this? More to the point, who gets away w this?? And to think for four years, he thought he had, until Stacy whispered somewhere from her grave. She obviously came to regret having played any role in the whole sordid scheme, being an incentive--a motive even--for killing his third wife. And knowing what she did, it was only a matter of time, once he eventually became abusive and controlling w her, until she would threaten to expose him. He was so intent on not having to part w any of that pension he was willing to off two women if that's what it took. And so used to having the upper hand in these twisted relationships, esp w younger wife Stacy, that he could not stand to relinquish that control. Those poor kids. Their only parent is evil, a true sociopath. Counting the days... JMO
