SUSPECT IN CUSTODY TN - 4 people found deceased, related to an infant abandoned in car seat in someone's yard (Dyer County, TN) 29 July 2025

Great question because I hadn’t had time to do a deep dive. Not only are we looking and wanting the truth, the LEOs will be sending any vehicles related potentially to Forensics depending on vehicle, most now days have something like a blackbox, everything else the vehicle does is logged into its mainframe. Then all other tests, normally within 48-72 hours LEOs can get results and will be anxious to get answers.

I posted without reading forward. I see there is a suspect who has been named.

Still confused about how the suspect got four people in two different vehicles to travel over 40 miles away to kill them. Did he act alone?

I'm not so sure. Here is the article that the DM quoted. Both the black car and the white SUV are mentioned as the possible drop off vehicle and the drop off of the infant was in the afternoon? BUT, both the black and white cars were recovered from the crime scene. If the suspect dropped the baby off in the afternoon in either the black car or the white SUV (and an A3 is not a SUV), he would have had to either drive with the bodies to drop the baby off and then return the car to the crime scene.

IMO, if the car that dropped the baby off cannot be ascertained with any certainty, then the person who dropped the baby off also cannot be ascertained with any certainty.

This still says a dark colored minivan may have dropped the baby off. I thought other articles made it clear that thr minivan was inaccurate information and it was a dark car or white SUV.

this is still unresolved. Both remain mentioned at the baby drop off location, but with no further information on them. afaict.

The speculation is rampant. The details are slim.

The article I posted above from the NYT makes it quite clear that the Tennessee authorities are being very tight lipped.

I really want to know HOW they even know he is the suspect.

Big question now ,I suppose is why ?
What's the motive for killing grandma , daughter , boyfriend and a 15 year old . If drug related why not just kill the one you had beef with . Surely all victims weren't involved in a drug related reason . If rumour is to be believed.

I think it was relationship breakdown and the subsequent mental health deterioration that may have come with that .

I think he is a suicide risk atm and wouldn't be surprised if he killed himself in an isolated spot and feds find a body .

The killing of 4 people from the one family is mafia style and I don't get the vibe it was this type of execution . With the alleged former relationship with Cortneys sister and the SIL describing a person the complete opposite of the person who committed this crime . It points to a personal reason. JMHO

I feel for his parents and the remaining family members of the victims .

Love can hurt and I can see prehaps he couldn't handle a relationship breakdown as he seemed to be fully integrated into the wider family. Coming out of prison comes with its own mental health issues and being accepted into a ready made family and then prehaps being excluded from it might have pushed him over the edge .

Maybe he couldn't get to cortneys sister but he could get to them and in his deluded mind there might have been many ways to skin a cat if you get what I mean . Jmo

Good point , could he have had help with placing the baby into safety by someone not aware of the murders .

Supposedly the black Charger and the White SUV were towed away.
afaik right now, that older 1988 white truck with red trim is still missing..
Or its location, is again, tightlipped, from authorities.

I am starting to suspect that some of the reasons for withholding so much is that the prison system that had housed the suspected killer is going to be in a heap of trouble... my opinion, of course.

But these rural prisons are big employers in given areas, so the relationships between and among prisoners, staff and the community do get quite blurred. again, my opinion.... but.

I do keep thinking about the Vicky White /Casey White --prison guard/prisoner love affair case....
I remember many people really were routing they got away... but it had nothing to do with brutal murder. I think it may have already been added on this thread...but not sure, so will add here.

This article down the end states tow trucks removed the vehicles around 4pm and coroner removed the bodies shortly after .

Does seem to allude to the fact bodies and vehicles in same location

I saw the video of the cars leaving the scene. That’s not in question. Here’s the link with video.

I've considered the possibility of him using some excuse to ask to borrow a vehicle and then lure them out by claiming it broke down and he needed help, but that doesn't explain why everyone needed to be there, and he could have very well done that with his own car. The kidnapping charge makes me wonder if that was some imbecile ransom plan and the family knew and just went after him, but I figure they'd call the cops themselves. I don't know, dude. It's all weird.
What if the baby was kidnapped and used as a lure to get the others to the location?

That’s one perspective that could be looked at, however, the metadata in the vehicles will give forensics the answers and we have to wait

I am curious about this latest news release, dispatch advised officer on radio where the vehicles were, both vehicles were towed, not sure if they was at same residents, but they showed a ambulance backing up into the driveway of the residence, the bodies were found alone the side of the road I’m curious why this ambulance is on scene? after removal of vehicles, was someone else deceased inside the home? Because that is normally what occurs when EMS comes without lights or sirings in a lot of cases.

I wonder how Austin was identified as the suspect in the murders . Even if it has been confirmed as seen dropping the baby . How do they know he wasn't just fleeing for his life too ?? Just a thought .

Do they have messages or cctv as proof

This story is absolutely wild looking on social media (and it’s shocking how much people share online). Very tragic.

Emphasis mine.
Thanks for the link.

I'd read they were found in the woods and then at a home ?
This makes sense as to where the deceased were located.
The reporting is all over the place for this sad case.

Was hoping the suspect had been found by now !
Only my opinion.
