TX Suzanne Clark Simpson missing in San Antonio, last seen by friends at dinner - 6 October 2024 *Arrest* #2

Catching up on this. I believe the gag order is so that the family will be silenced. The more they speak out the more sympathy Suzanne gets and the worse it goes for Brad. Brad's attorney doesn't want that to happen. The family has been amazing. I have faith in the upcoming jury and this guy will never be released. I doubt he will ever tell what really happened, it's probably too heinous. He will live with it for the rest of his miserable life.

I hope his children have some type of say so in this. They're dealing with a lot right now and seeing their father may not be the best thing for them. All JMO.

I assume that’s an individual choice which each of them will make? Am I wrong?

I’m not sure it works like that. Depending on ages, it’s usually down to a social worker etc to decide what’s best for the child/ren

Gosh I would hope the child’s wishes would be the overriding factor. Thanks for answering.

I think it’s like a in a custody case where up until a certain age the children are deemed not capable to make decisions for themselves (source: me! And my custody case)

IMO, given their mother, the victim, is deceased, and dad, the accused, is incarcerated, I believe the Court will appoint a GAL to represent the best interest of the minor children.

We saw this in CA in the Maya Millette case where the Court restricted dad's (Larry) communication with his minor children to one letter per week and his letters had to be approved in advance by the GAL. He'd previously been denied any contact for one year after abusing his phone privileges with his kids. MOO

In a surprising turn, Judge Perez summoned Suzanne's brother-in-law, Bart Simpson, and her sister, Teresa Clark, to the bench. Bart was not in court. This followed Bart's appearance in a YouTube video discussing his brother, which violated the judge's gag order. Teresa, present in court, was compelled to stand just a few feet away from the man accused of murdering her sister, Brad Simpson.

... Judge Perez admonished both Bart and Teresa not to violate the gag order again, emphasizing that it was instituted to protect Simpson's right to a fair trial by an impartial jury.

At Thursday’s hearing, the judge agreed to modify the rules for Brad and allow him to have contact with his 15-year-old child. While Brad is not allowed to have contact of any kind with the 5-year-old, he is allowed to send letters to the teenager, with the stipulation that the letters will be reviewed by Child Protective Services.

The couple’s two older children, ages 18 and 20, told the court they want no contact with their father currently, but are willing to amend the order to allow them to contact him at a later date should they so choose.

Is that a thing to impose gag orders on family members? Being hushed up is supposedly part of the reasons why this DV with SS and BS went hidden for a long period of time. JMHO but I don’t agree with shushing family members up. That is sentencing them to silence and secrets continuing to be hidden. I get it if they are witnesses in a potential trial. Just seems wrong from a lay person point of view.

This case has attracted national attention and the gag order has nothing to do with prior DV in the 20+ year marriage of the couple. It was Ordered to protect the defendants right to a fair trial and not pollute the jury pool-- Judge Perez wants to prevent publicity that could impact BS's right to a fair trial.

A gag order has been issued preventing those involved in the case, including attorneys and law enforcement personnel, from sharing information with media and other outside parties.

Perez's order also noted "the unusually emotional nature" of the case and information "that is not presently subject to public disclosure, but which has nevertheless been published and broadcast by local and national media." It prevents legal teams, their staff members and law enforcement from speaking with news media, as well as witnesses who have already provided statements or those who do in the future.

The 3 page Order is embedded in the MSM link below.

Legal issues aside (polluting a jury pool). I agree with you @Hatch 100%!

This is so obviously a puff piece for Barts reputation as a board member of a non profit and SAColleges…the women in this interview are so clearly “helping” on the very subject and the “fund raising” implications . The clean up and tidying up of the BART Simpson reputation after the other public comments made by Brad & Suzanne’s adult daughter on the lack of education in the local AH Community on the DV topic . As a media strategist it’s so obviously what’s going on here to clean up the local image and reputation of the big philanthropist crowd to keep the money flowing (cavaliers SAColleges, local DV and related charities) . Some of it is probably sincere. But some serious self serving grift going on here if you’re objective and honest with yourself and observing thus clearly staged.
