For those of us thinking Medina Lake, I guarantee you that can't be the case as the lake level today is at 2.3% of it's total capacity. This entire area is under a two year extreme drought, constant fire watches, and no boats allowed at either Medina Lake or Canyon Lake.

We know he owned or collected guns( some illegal). Was he a hunter outdoorsman type perhaps belonged to a hunting club or the likes? Hunters are very familiar with their territory, would know if there was an old cistern, hand dug well, old dirt cesspool or just a deep void in the terrain. There looks to be lots of limestone in the area, would blend easily with cement. Hunters are scouring around getting ready for deer season archery season started Sept 28th.
A pickup during the daytime in a rural area would not seem suspicious as hunters are filling deer feeders and getting their camps set up etc. Was BS a hunter, does anybody know?
Great thinking! According to the BCAD search and map of property lines, BS's property really isn't that large, but the 105 acres across the river is something to think about...and Peaceful Valley Rd is where we always put in to float the river or kayak. I know this area very well, now that I see exactly where this is on this map... His is the teal property but the 105 ac is parcel 147470.

Got to ask. Where is this Pump House mentioned in the affidavit, and what is it used for? Pumping water, sewage, oil, gas?

The way he worded his text is strange to.

"OK, Make sure to leave all that sh** into the pump house, especially the gun,"

If I remember correctly LE recovered a gun. Was the gun recovered found in the pump house?
As a rural home owner we have a water well. Our pump house is where the pipes come in from underground the pressure tank and electrical equipment is in this pump house.
Commonly they are a small separate building from the main house also used for gardening supplies and storage. Hopefully we come to know what pump house was referred to in the affidavit a pic would be a bonus.

Not sure about his specific pump house, but as a country girl growing up in the Texas Hill Country in Bandera and Medina, now outside San Antonio most homes with water wells have a pump house to protect the pump and tank from elements and in my family's case to mask the eyesore and use for storage of yard tools and such. Some are really big and some are literally the size of the pump with some wiggle room. Think like what an old time classic moon-on-the door outhouse would look like, about that size or larger if used as a storage as well.

There are an abundance of septic tanks of the older variety....i.e. concrete encased very large containers but he'd have to had access to them. They are normally covered by a large concrete round "lid." There are also a lot of caves in the area but not often known to just anyone.

Great minds! :)

And he had another bag of Quikrete he didn't use. And he purchased water, probably used it up on the first bag. Arguably one bag was sufficient. He didn't have access TO water. The amount he was able to make isn't enough to cover a horizontal grave.

Vertical grave. That he didn't have to dig.

In an area with thick brush and bramble (ergo bug spray) or he knows something Google hasn't coughed up for me about DEET as a mask for cadaverine, confuse scent dogs.

IMO he had a destination in mind. Drove straight to it. Didn't even have to wait for the quickest to set. Pour and go.

People do what they know. What does he know?

She will be found.

Almost like he had done it before.

You could do a decent sized vertical hole with a post hole digger attached to skid steer. Would be like putting in a large fence post. We used an 8” one to put in posts for our coop yard. I think they go up to 12”. Google says up to 14” but they don’t look very long. Depending upon soil it could be done quickly. Cement would still flow down along the body but could then be covered by dirt.

ETA That could also explain why he bought two bags of cement and only used one. Volume displacement in narrow cylinder (vertical hole). One ended up being enough.

13 min. Not a lot of time. Obviously he does not watch Dateline,20/20, or 48 hours.

I have a hydraulic powered auger that is powered by my Bobcat skid steerer. I also have a three foot diameter auger for planting trees. I can go to over six feet deep with an extension I have.

About wells. I have a hand dug well that is four feet in diameter and 42 feet deep. I also have a 24 inch diameter 'bored' well. As a bored well is bored cement sections that look like culvert interlocking sections are placed in the well. My bored well is 45 feet deep and lined with 24 inch diameter cement sections. I believe some are 30 inches in diameter.
Read about bored wells here:

A photo of a bored well from the article above:

It may be that her feet were put in the five gallon bucket and the cement left to cure ahead of time somewhere(maybe even in the pickup truck). This would greatly reduce time spent at a drop off site. It would also make her and the 'boot' heavier.

In the hill country, it's going to take a while to bore through the limestone. There's about 2" of soil and then nothing but rock in most places.
I used this type of document to determine where to put our stock tank in my county. Lets me know where the soil should be expected vs the high part of the land that’s 9” of soil and then limestone. This one is for Bandera County.

I’m on my phone and not really able to dig through the county map for expected soil depths. Would maybe rule some areas out.

I’m torn between whether Brad had a spot picked out to dump/bury/hide Suzanne’s body OR whether he dropped her body off to someone who he paid to dispose of her.
I would be interested to know if he took out money from the ATM or bank on 10/6 or 10/7.
He may have had a cash stash at home.
He used cash for the cement/ bucket/ bug spray purchase.

I’m almost leaning toward thinking he had help disposing of S’s corpse.

Also leaning toward the idea that Brad may have been involved in illicit activities to add to his income that haven’t been disclosed yet.
Basing that idea on the number of phones he was burning and the computer he was burning.

I would love to know what google searches Brad made after he killed Suzanne & before he burned the devices.

I’m quite certain he’s an avid hunter and knows the land around Bandera quite well.

All IMHO

Someone should consult with Raymond V Carter Junior.
Apparently he has done copious research on caves and abandoned mines in the Bandera area.

Just a thought on the cement.

My dad used to build decks occasionally. He'd dig holes for the upright posts, put the post in place, and pour the dry cement mix into the hole around it. Then he'd wet it down, without bothering to mix it. It might not be the "proper" way to do it, but the end result was the same. The cement would set just fine, and it saved him a lot of time and effort.
