Unbelievable...

Richard Barrow in Thailand‏ @RichardBarrow
Hollywood producers have arrived in Thailand and are already plotting a movie about the young boys and their soccer coach trapped in a cave — before they’re all out https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/movies/thailand-cave-movie-hollywood-producers-already-on-the-scene/news-story/74268c86b6cf82501c628693490e14ab … #ThamLuang #พาทีมหมูป่ากลับบ้าน #ถ้ำหลวง #Thailand #ThailandCaveRescue

If it was the US, there would be lawyers waiting there, too.

ALL. The ending no realistic person expected as recently as just 3 or 4 days ago. :)

I feel such a sense of relief. How much more relieved they must be feeling. After 17 days finally back to fresh air and safety. I cant even imagine.

ABC NEWS REPORTING 2 of boys are suffering from pneumonia.
Really hope this is all, even though that alone can be serious.

All boys rescued from Thai cave

Posted at7:51
The Navy Seal team in charge of the rescue says that the 12 boys and their coach who were trapped in the cave have been brought out, completing an extraordinary and arduous rescue operation that captivated the world.

The Seals posted to Facebook: "12 wild boars and coach out of the cave. Everyone safe."

Posted at7:57
The final part of the operation will be the emergence of four rescue divers, including one doctor, who remained in the chamber with the boys after they were found.

"Waiting to pick up four divers," the Thai Navy said on Facebook.

I really don't think it has sunk in yet that they have been rescued. I just said to my co-worker the other day that I didn't think it was looking good for those boys... she will be shocked when she wakes up to the news :)

Amazing, what a fantastic story of cooperation this has been. Hope all can make a full recovery soon, and they get plenty of support for the inevitable mental after-effects. It's so nice to have a good news story for once! :) That's not wishing to disrespect the man who lost his life in any way, but considering how many lives COULD have been lost... it's amazing that it's gone so well, real credit to all involved.

I hadn’t seen this article from a couple of days ago, it claimed that the coach actually went in after them to look for the boys and a bit more info on coach Ek and at least one of the boys being “stateless people.” (I’m taking Thai Navy Seal’s version as truth right now though)

Thai cave rescue: How the cave nightmare began | PerthNow

“Their parents’ concern drove their coach 25-year-old Ekapol Jantawong, a stateless orphan who shared their love of football, to the cave. Near the entrance, he found their bikes, a discovery that meant he had to go deep inside to try to locate them and bring them back...

Adul, who won praise for his ability to speak four languages — Thai, English, Burmese and Chinese — and being polite.

Adul is from Wa state, an autonomous area in north-eastern Myanmar notorious for its drug trade. Like many children in the north, his parents, who are Christians, sent him, at a young age, to get a better education in northern Thailand.

He is one of more than 400,000 people who are registered as stateless in Thailand and stuck in a legal limbo that groups such as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees are trying to fix. With no birth certificate, ID card or passport, Adul cannot legally marry, get a job or bank account, travel outside the province, own property or vote.“

May we all revel in the genius and goodness and shared fortitude of our human species. One or more of these be credited as you will: May all the gods be praised! May all the strength of these young men be emulated! May we raise a glass to the brilliant technological and psychological aspects it took to combat adversity! May we learn to share and not unduly judge! May love conquer all! May we look at the future without repeating mistakes of the past. May we be as brothers and sisters one to another without prejudice. And above all: may we love, hope and expect all the best together. Today was a triumph. Let it not be a singular experience.

It looks like all of the live streams are down. So it's hard to tell what is going one now.

ABC NEWS- All will spend week in hospital.

  • #938
ABC news live feed just showed another ambulance arrive at the hospital. I'm not sure if it was one of the boys or unrelated.
