:D Meghan Markle and Prince Harry release the sweetest Christmas card with baby Archie
Little Archie is the centre of attention in the adorable Christmas card, as he appears to crawl into the foreground of the shot with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat behind him laughing

The adorable photo shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex laughing in the background with Archie's cute little face in the foreground.

The family is sat comfortably on the floor in front of a Christmas tree, complete with flashing lights and baubles.

They've chosen to release their photo in black and white, as Meghan often chooses to do.

That black and white one doesn’t do it for me. I would like to see their decorations in color.

I have not been to England for about 15 years...
we went to see the giant diamond. I forget the name...
it is so big it looks fake.:D
I felt if I saw it at TJ Maxx, I would not buy it. Is the one on display the real thing?

I adored England. *Buckminster* was a letdown but I suppose it is a must see.

The Crown Jewels contain some of the world’s most exceptional diamonds, shown here with the blue Stuart Sapphire.

This sapphire was reputedly smuggled out of the country by James II when he fled in 1688. It now adorns the back of the Imperial State Crown (1937).

The magnificent Cullinan I (top left) is the world’s largest top quality white cut diamond. The huge uncut stone was discovered in South Africa in 1905, and was cut to create nine major stones. Cullinan II (bottom right), the second largest stone, is now set into the front band of the Imperial State Crown.

The history of the Koh-i-Nûr (or ‘Mountain of Light’) diamond is steeped in myth and anecdote. Discovered in 15th-century India, it was passed from ill-fated male hand to hand, until it earned a reputation of bringing bad luck to men. It was presented to Queen Victoria in 1849. It now adorns the front of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s Crown

Kings and queens of England have stored crowns, robes, and other items of their ceremonial regalia at the Tower of London for over 600 years. Since the 1600s, the coronation regalia itself, commonly known as the 'Crown Jewels' have been protected at the Tower.

Over 30 million people have seen them in their present setting at the Tower. They are possibly the most visited objects in Britain, perhaps the world. But most remarkable of all is that this a unique working collection.

The Imperial State Crown is usually worn by the monarch for the State Opening of Parliament. When the next coronation comes around, key items will be taken to Westminster in readiness for the ceremony.

An ancient ritual
The Crown Jewels are so significant because they symbolise the passing of authority from one monarch to another during the coronation ceremony.

The earliest detailed account of a coronation in England comes from 973 when the Anglo-Saxon King Edgar was crowned in a lavish ceremony in Bath. The coronation rituals have altered little in their essentials in over a thousand years

:D
Yeah - They're the real deal.

Did you know?
The question most visitors ask about the Crown Jewels is, ‘are they real?’
Yes, they are!

The Queen will use her Christmas message to acknowledge a turbulent 2019 for the Royals as she says we can all overcome difficulties with 'small steps' (but there's no photo of Harry and Meghan on her desk... and definitely no Andrew!)

It certainly has been a tough year for Her Majesty. The royal blue is a lovely colour on Her Majesty. I think they have toned down the bling in the Christmas message this year because of the gold piano controversy last year.

Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah to you all.

This made me laugh if it was me @Keine Engel I would claim the Crown Jewels are from Claire’s accessories for a reaction.

I don’t like massive gemstones I always think they look fake but Her Majesty can pull the look off.

Bucksminster was designed by Bucksminster Fuller. Somewhere in London where the Queen lives, I guess.

you know. Where the guys with the furry hats stand still for hours on end.

Is it true that the statue of Churchill has a charge because he said he doesn’t want birds ******** on him?

I have read different things about that.

Duke and Duchess of York's Christmas cards - signed by the WHOLE family including Beatrice and Eugenie - makes thinly veiled reference to Epstein scandal with photo of a dog's bottom and 'Say goodbye to 2019' message

This is not a very festive card is it.

I'm deeply offended by this thoughtless, vulgar card.

It tells much more about the senders than they think. It should not have been sent as an official Christmas Card. Maybe an e-mail to very close and sympathetic friends but not for general consumption. It is filled with self-pity and bile and seems to attempt to trivialize a still evolving scandal.

It reeks of the crudeness of Sarah Ferguson, but I'm shocked that Eugenie and Jack, and Beatrice would have signed off to this.

Do you think they sent this to The Queen and Prince Philip, or even Prince Charles

If you look at past Christmas speeches by The Queen, she has generally only had the members of the Royal Succession, her husband, and her parents.

Andrew isn't there but neither is Princess Anne, Prince Edward or their children, I wouldn't read too much into it.

Very tacky, in poor taste. Says a lot about Andrew and Fergie, none of it good. JMO

It might seem that way, but there are no photos of the Queen's other children or grandchildren in that shot either. So it's a bit like the Christmas pudding photos, the monarch, the previous monarch, Prince Philip, and then the heirs to the throne. So maybe we shouldn't read anything into it.

I totally agree with everything you have said. I’m shocked by it too and can’t believe the whole family signed it. I sincerely hope Prince Andrew did not send this card to his parents.

I agree it is in very poor taste given the circumstances of the situation.

:) Duke of Edinburgh leaves hospital after a four night stay for 'pre-existing condition'

The Duke spent four nights in the King Edward VII's hospital in central London and left just before 9am on Christmas Eve.

He got into a car in a secluded street behind the hospital and was sitting in the front passenger seat.

1577179840_Duke-of-Edinburgh-leaves-hospital-after-a-four-night-stay.jpg
The Duke waved at a nurse as he left - and did not respond to photographers as he was driven away from the private hospital.

Multiple police stood guard around the hospital as well as royal protection officers.

It is thought he will now be travelling to Sandringham to spend Christmas with the Queen.

The Duke's return to Sandringham will have added significance for his family because while most people open their presents on Christmas Day, the royal family still keep to the German practice of unwrapping their gifts on Christmas Eve
