Hell No!
So before everyone moves on with all the relentless non-stories the D.M. & Express bombard us with constantly
Tiara Alert!
I don't know whether the Duchess of Cambridge does her own hair or has a stylist who sees to it that Kate is always impeccably coiffed. For this particular event, when Meghan was introducing a line of clothing for women entering the work force, the Duchess of Sussex should have had a more professional looking hair style. I actually like Meghan's hair in a neat bun instead of the straggly and unkempt style that she features more often than not. I, too, would like to see Meghan with a fresh, new coiffure and lose the long locks altogether.

... Keine, the support group aspect sounds like Job Seekers here in the US. They have business volunteers, meetings, speakers, and are in general are a good networking source...
Is there anything like that in UK? I like the aspect of gathering people who need support to not feel so isolated, or downtrodden when sending out a zillion resumes.
Part of this is about enjoying the shopping experience. Maybe this is generational but in my day there was nothing like an experienced sales lady.Every girl in my hometown went to a certain lady at a certain shop to get properly fitted for her first undergarment. She was great, and was my grandmothers age. But she taught me the importance of a great undergarment.

Fabergé
Today Fabergé is known for creating the Imperial Easter Eggs but they also made some beautiful jewellery including ...Tiaras!
Fabergé Aquamarine Tiara! This Fabergé tiara was a wedding gift from Frederick Francis IV, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin for his bride Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Cumberland

The tiara is a symbolic design with forget-me-not flowers tied with ribbon bows, signifying true and eternal love, pierced by arrows representing cupid.Composed of nine graduated pear-shaped aquamarines, old, cushion and rose-cut diamonds...
I'm just gonna (briefly
) answer this question as @rosemadderlake asked so nicely.
Yes we have types of 'job clubs' as well as personal advisors. They kinda look at what's applicable for each individual. I think there's voluntary/drop-in groups in places like local libraries, community centres as well.
For training, courses, more specific support, workshops etc. companies are contracted for most of this stuff thru the Jobcentre.
Like this for example;
..Our dedicated employment teams help people to identify their goals and work towards them at their own pace, empowering them to take control of their future.
Our projects help people access training, education, volunteering and employment.
.. incorporate employment guidance and workshops into the support package..
other services, such as accommodation projects, and drug and alcohol services.
..access training, education, volunteering and employment.
My apologies my explanation's badly 'worded' I'm not sure of the correct terminology. And the Jobcentre is always changing these things, having to be all excessively PC-like.
The shopping &enjoyment part would go down like a lead balloon
Lastly...
That "hometown certain shop" was known as M&S over here.
Changing Lives
...For the clothing line, they should have had a blue & white striped shirt. It’s much smarter than that white shirt. You also have to pay attention to bras in white shirts ( headlight issues)
The whole introduction is sloppy.
Is that the full collection?
..*I imagine smartworks has need for larger sizes than that even..
Maybe going forward they'll be able to partner with someone who can do the larger sizes in all the clothes. Jigsaw shouldn't have gotten involved if they were only going to do up to a 16
● In order to meet the demand, Smart Works are always in need of donated clothes suitable for job interviews.Their stock is a mixture of donations from corporate partners and high-quality donations from members of the public.
I’m at a loss as to why it’s a huge achievement for 3 designers and the wife of a prince to come up with 1 white shirt, 1 pair black pants, one black jacket for pants, 2 dresses, and a toteOk. Something's not adding up here...![]()
I think we've got this 'concept' of Smart Works all wrong? Or at least someone putting this info. out there has, I think?
Firstly - To be clear this is NOT a bash-Meg post!
I said I had questions, curiosity lead me to why's this felt necessary? Why is it such a big deal?
And in particular who, where & WHY are all these women so desperately needing this whole 'concept'?
- as a chickOk then, so how would I apply?living in the working-class north I've never known anyone even mention anything about this being an issue. Having never been in a position to need use I'm still aware of the grants, it's common knowledge in general as far as I'm aware, so what's the deal?
Any woman can be referred to Smart Works on the condition she has a confirmed job interview for a paid position or a year-long apprenticeship.
If you are an unemployed* woman who would like to come to Smart Works, then please speak to your employment adviser ...
《 so that'd be at the Jobcentre?
*dole lingo - meaning claiming benefits long term (for set min. time e.g. 6+months)
Appointments to Smart Works are made by referral only.
We work with many referral agencies, including Jobcentre Plus, work programme providers ...
???
- I'm still non the wiser
But ... It is NOT NEW
This wasn't to lauch either the 'concept' OR the charity.
It was to announce the launch Meghan's 'Smart-Set Capsule Collection' from HERFashion Line/Range going on sale.
- I dunno maybe it's just me? All the media hype gave me the impression the whole Smart Works thing was some new collaboration put together, Meg having been a leading incentive of (or at least a part of )?

Weird. Much ado about nothingThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being held under the microscope yet again by the British public, after it was revealed that they broke council rules when it came to renovating the gardens at their new home Frogmore Cottage.
The pair who can't seem to do anything right by the British tabloids, have been called out for ripping up their Windsor garden using plans that weren't approved by council, and may be forced to reverse their work and stick to the approved plans.
