The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being held under the microscope yet again by the British public, after it was revealed that they broke council rules when it came to renovating the gardens at their new home Frogmore Cottage.

The pair who can't seem to do anything right by the British tabloids, have been called out for ripping up their Windsor garden using plans that weren't approved by council, and may be forced to reverse their work and stick to the approved plans.

I think we've got this 'concept' of Smart Works all wrong? Or at least someone putting this info. out there has, I think?

Firstly - To be clear this is NOT a bash-Meg post!
I said I had questions, curiosity lead me to why's this felt necessary? Why is it such a big deal?
And in particular who, where & WHY are all these women so desperately needing this whole 'concept'?

- as a chick living in the working-class north I've never known anyone even mention anything about this being an issue. Having never been in a position to need use I'm still aware of the grants, it's common knowledge in general as far as I'm aware, so what's the deal?

Any woman can be referred to Smart Works on the condition she has a confirmed job interview for a paid position or a year-long apprenticeship.

If you are an unemployed* woman who would like to come to Smart Works, then please speak to your employment adviser ...

*dole lingo - meaning claiming benefits long term (for set min. time e.g. 6+months)​

Appointments to Smart Works are made by referral only.

We work with many referral agencies, including Jobcentre Plus, work programme providers ...

This wasn't to lauch either the 'concept' OR the charity.
It was to announce the launch Meghan's 'Smart-Set Capsule Collection' from HER Fashion Line/Range going on sale.

- I dunno maybe it's just me? All the media hype gave me the impression the whole Smart Works thing was some new collaboration put together, Meg having been a leading incentive of (or at least a part of )?​

I totally agree with you it is very important to feel positive and confident when going for an interview. If you have very limited resources it can make you feel like you are self conscious and inferior to other candidates in an interview. I am really glad the Duchess of Sussex is involved in an initiative like this.

The Queen does not want to talk about Meghan Markle, according to reports.

Journalist Quentin Letts said his friend was given advice not to mention the Sussexes when meeting Her Majesty.

He wrote on Twitter on Friday: "Friend of an acquaintance was about to go riding with HMQ [Her Majesty the Queen].

"Was given v firm advice [sic]. 'Talk about anything except one subject.'

"Brexit? 'No, The Sussexes.'"

A gallery is set to reopen nearly a year after a diamond tiara was stolen in a targeted raid.

The Portland Collection, situated in the Welbeck estate near Worksop, closed after the Portland Tiara and a brooch were stolen in November last year.

A £100,000 reward has been offered for information which would lead to the recovery of the tiara.

Harry, like Diana, at 35 is on the precipice of a new chapter. Both Harry and Diana seemingly shed their old selves in front of our eyes, the key difference being the Princess did so to rapturous applause.

Harry has been staging a quiet revolution but the looming question is, will he continue to lean into his rebel tendencies or at some stage, will he toe the party line?

On September 15, he turns 35 and his life curiously mirrors his mother’s at the same juncture.

HAVING your own private cash machine would be pretty handy, and according to a new Channel 5 documentary, there is one person in the UK who has such a luxury - the Queen.

Royal fans are set to get a closer look inside the 93-year-old's London abode, which is said to feature the Coutts money dispenser, in the hotly anticipated documentary: Secrets of the Royal Palaces.

However, the upcoming four-part series claims the British royal has an ATM machine installed in one of her many rooms.

The first episode in the series will explore Buckingham Palace, before giving a glimpse inside the other royal residencies, including Windsor Castle, Balmoral and Clarence House, where her son Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla live.
