The Case of JonBenet Ramsey-CBS Sept. 18 # 2

I'm more of the view that they were willing to sacrifice proper burial because they staged the ransom note, and have their own private burial, just the two of them, possibly at sea or involving a deep lake.

Her murder by garrote was staged to protect whoever initially harmed her, in case she was found. I think she was strangled before the garrote was applied - the white ring mark around her neck with no ligature present. The theory is still a work in progress for me.

They are going to send her to the bottom of the lake or ocean yet they put duct tape on her mouth? Not likely.

If someone had a kidnapped child and the potential of an intruder in the house, are you going to let your remaining child stay upstairs in a bedroom alone? I think the answer is obvious.
It's a ridiculous scenario. My remaining child would be glued to my side, or in police custody. In fact, I would insist that the police take him to a safe location immediately. JR and PR had no fear that someone was going to target Burke b/c they knew there was no intruder.

And preferred to break glass in a quiet neighborhood near midnight - that surely couldn't cause any disturbance.

In a wealthy neighborhood with spread apart houses, at midnight when everyone else is asleep....breaking a back basement window is unlikely to alert anyone. Plus the sound could be muffled if your wrapped cloth around your hand before break it....though he likely used his foot, I'd guess. Also all the glass and thus sound would fall inside the house where it's less likely to be heard by neighbors asleep in their air conditioned houses.

Beats the option of disposing of a body in the middle of the day don't you think?

No I don't actually. I think there were many ways they could have disposed of her during the day, starting with a suitcase that would not look out of place with them going on a trip. A trip out during the early hours of the morning is very difficult to explain, especially with an intruder in the home that you never noticed and a 'kidnapping' happening in the same time frame.

Yes and yes. Those weren't fancy knots though, they look like some type of hitch not to me, e
Other half hitches or clove hitches I think a combo though but it's a serious of hitch knots overlayed....and yes this is a knot you would learn as an intermediate sailor. It's used to tie line around a pole.

Thats it. I change my mind. ThinkHard did it!

He kicked it with the toe of his shoe. How much noise do you think that would make?

Why are you doubting it? It was on the housekeepers repair list, as I've already posted.

And that was probably the only thing that stopped him from telling the police an intruder did it.

I find it best to doubt everything a Ramsey says. It's just that simple. Tell enough lies and that's what happens. And John has told more than enough ...

Question: How many child predators write a ransom letter? Seriously, what are the stats?

why this threat if they wanted for police to find her in the house

you will also be DENIED her remains

But it doesnt explain her death, some sort of death threat would have done that. Like "I murdered your daughter cause your a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 John. Victory!" That would make sense. A ransom note explains missing, but thats just temporary unless your plan is to remove her from the house, but then why "find" her later!?!? Its just not logical, especially given that a handwritten 3 page ransom note is so probably incriminating.

The language in the note explains why she was found dead, because Patsy and John did call friends and pretty much do everything the "kidnappers" told them not to do.

I don't really see any reason for them to lie about the window. It was obviously not broken by an intruder or else there would be glass everywhere. If they had broken it that night, attempting to create a fake entry point, why bother to clean the glass?

Doesn't really make much sense because she was dead long before the note was found.

I'd agree with you if it wasn't backed up by evidence.

Air conditioning isn't common up in Boulder - no real need for it except on the very hottest days. I don't think the Ramsey home had central AC. People sleep with the windows open at night b/c the air cools down so much. I grew up in Denver and I still miss being able to sleep with the windows open.

Why bother with duct tape and garrottes if you are planning on making the body disappear?

Police have been known to trawl lakes. Bodies do turn up.

Plus they were calling police to their home. They couldn't guarantee she wouldn't be found.

Of course it doesn't make sense but it was an attempt to explain the dead body in the basement.

So maybe the kidnapper never left the house but was hiding with JBR in the WC, then when they heard the footsteps upstairs of all of police officers and friends, he killed her, then exited through the window without anyone seeing him. Escaped on foot.

I think they were over confident that LE would just believe the ransom story and not look in the house. I don't understand how the Ramseys thought it would be a good idea to just take off in an airplane if you don't know where your kidnapped daughter is. Didn't they think that would raise suspicion?
